All though I was generally pleased with an away point on Saturday, I felt we again didn't do enough when we were in the ascendancy to finish the job off. We score and then sit deeper and deeper allowing the opposition to pass the ball around and grow in confidence. We should have attacked, attacked attacked and left them completely shell shocked. This is something Gus must address if we are to kick on.
Transfer wise, I still feel we have dwindled on the Borini saga far too long with other targets probably put off because of this. Why put all your eggs in 1 basket? A centre half is a must, ( Micah Richards for me), A out and out goal scorer and maybe someone with a bit of flare to excite th long suffering Supporters.

A point away against a bogey team, scored two goals with players playing out of position ain't bad

Or a point against a team as poor as we are, using a system Gus believes and we would all like to see, except that we don't have players with sufficient technique to play it. If you want to play out from the back, you need players at the back who can control the ball confidently, either run with it without losing it or pass accurately as the opportunity presents, and rapidly get back into position if possession is lost. So which of our back line can do any of those things regularly? There is some hope that VA might learn to, but the rest will have to be replaced or the system changed to the more familiar 'backs to the wall/ boot it anywhere' formation these players can sometimes execute competently.

We're now even money (odds on according to one bookmaker) to sign Scott Sinclair. But then again we were favourites to sign Micah Richards and that didn't last long so who knows what to believe any more.

I understand why everyone is frustrated and I can't pretend that I hate waiting like this for us to get business done. but the fact that we are waiting shows that we are taking great care in who we bring in to the club. we know transfers are being worked on. let's just hope slow and steady does win the race.
