Ed can you clear up any rumours about johnson berba or fletcher also what's happening with the young swedish lad a man city and if wolves are after cb give them 20 mil plus titus shambles that's there 15 mil asking price and 5 mil for taken titus everyone happy nothing on spurs page about johnson so figers toes and eyes crossed he joins us {Ed024's Note - My info is that 5 Premier League clubs enquired about Johnson - he turned down two without speaking to them and will speak to the other 3 as I understand those 3 are Liverpool, Tottenham and Sunderland - its now down to him to choose. Berbatov - not hearing much on this - I think its more supporters putting 2 and 2 together - we need a forward and Man Utd need rid of Berbatov. The Fletcher situation is a strange one - the price seems to be going up and up but still we persue him - Spurs may also be interested. Ref Guidetti - as we are talking to Man City about Johnson we may as well mention Guidetti so don't rule this one out. Bottom line is I think we will get Fletcher or Johnson but not both (the other will probably end up at Spurs). Don't see us getting Berbatov - don't think we really want him and I think he wouldn't come to us (Big Head). Guidetti - is a possible but I think he'll stay at Man City}

Think we should try for joe cole if we dont get any luck with adam johnson he's been told off BR that he can find a new club could been a decent signing for us ed?
Injury prone! Was on for about 10 minutes then ended up going back off witha hamstring injury!
Not on his wages
{ed024's note - Think Cole's best days are behind him - wouldn't add much to the midfield}
20 Aug 2012 15:15:52
all talks of johnson depends on how greedy he is. be a god at sunderland or just another player on high wages at spurs or liverpool
If he does join us,he could be a legend and safc would adore the lad,if he goes to lpool or spurs he will just be another player who will see about 3 or 4 different managers in 2 seasons,cos it will go tots up 4 avb and rodgers within 4 months if they r lucky as of oneill he is here 4 the long run.tk73
I thought Everton were front runners for him? I might be wrong but my understanding was that the Rodwell deal gave them first refusal on him. Ed can you shed any light? {Ed024's Note - Mirallas and Pienaar account for most the money Everton got for Rodwell - I don't see Everton forking out another £11 Million its just not their style. As Man City will not be keen on a loan deal I can't see him going to Everton}

I am hoping Johnson will come, Short has agreed to break wages cap to get him and agreed the 10million to Man City. Let's hope coming home to the club he supports is enough and his family are diehards. He could be a legend at safc, won't be any where else, plus I don't think spurs will get him they have Bale and Lennon! Liverpool are the danger I think. What's to say we won't be in Europe next year, especially if we get Johnson, Guidetti, Fletcher and a quality LB.
Europe? Dream on. IMO we're not nearly as good as Everton and they're probably the biggest outsiders for a European place. A good season will be mid-table. Nothing more.
Well when Mon took over we were flying up the table, and had a crap start under Brucey, imagine if we started well and finished well would of been close to Europe. all i say is if we can get the players that are being rumoured then we should be trying - lets be ambitious! I would be happy with top 10 of course.
Hey if we got those players I would have a few bob on europe mon is a class manager ask any player who has played for him

I don't see where all this "quality not quantity" is coming from? Adam Johnson would be good but his wages could be a problem, I think spurs will get him. Defoe is a non-starter. Guidetti IMO is a must, we have no reliable forwards cos Saha is so old he's crumbling in his boots. But all in all, not really impressed with MON atm, I'm bracing myself for a struggle this season. The midfield is void of creativity apart from Sess who I think will move away, be it this summer or next.
I agree. Hoodwinked by MON & Short. Started too late in the transfer market. The knives will be out soon.
Your either a mag or the grim reaper
20 Aug 2012 13:31:59
Does anybody else think we should just give Wickham a chance? everybody saying he's not good enough for a PL start but he hasn't had a decent run of games yet. give him time he'll be class!
20 Aug 2012 11:18:10
Odds have been cut on Johnson to join Spurs. Being in Europe & London will help his England career. It was always a long shot anyway. Defoe not leaving Spurs either. The list is getting smaller now.
He won't be aloud to go to tott because of the adabayor thing
What thing?
20 Aug 2012 11:13:40
Apparently Spurs will not be selling Defoe in this transfer window. Strike that one off the list lads.
20 Aug 2012 09:43:03
I don't understand how so many safc fans can doubt mon. He is up there with the best of managers and for him it's not just gettin players in for a stepping stone, he wants players who will be dedicated to the club. The players we do get in the next few weeks will be quality as any good player would love to play for mon as he is a respected boss. So let's all just have faith in him and he will make us happy. S.Rooney.
Quality? Cuella,Saha? Listen, O`neil was a half decent manager a few year back but any pull he has for players has gone. We WILL sign players but not the fantasy lot that is posted on here, ie Defoe,Llorente,Anita,Johnson,. Please be sensible lads. safc1973
The Johnson link is true, the rest dream on.
Jeez.

We would get murdered with that team. Nice to think we went from parking the bus to all-out attack but it's not gonna happen. Decent squad though.
Spurs will not be selling Defoe this transfer window. SSN.
