Lets think back to when MON took over. `Take us to next level`, `european places` `the messiah` `world class manager`. SO let's wait until Di Canio has been in charge 2 seasons or more and the club is on an upward move before saying he is the best blah blah blah. Maybe a rude awakening awaits when he finally brings Swindon, Chesterfield, Bournmouth players in and it is still relegation fights every season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Take a pill.
Not everyone is getting carried away.
Even those that are should be allowed their dreams.
Problem with you Mags is at the moment it is all doom and gloom whilst Pratdew enjoys his long contract ( so will I ).

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand your caution, Its Survival we are looking at though at the moment. Di Canio can certainly motivate and we look more convincing now, even when compared to MON's golden period. We are finally playing some atractive forward thinkig football. For some reason though, I can't help thinking you're a mag or a villian.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland fans have every right to be excited with the start Di Canio has made. You don't think for 1 minute a post from a still smarting toon fan is going to change anything, do you?

Agree0 Disagree0

I said some time ago, that when Newcastle appointed Kinnear and then Pardew (we'll forget Shearer joke), they set a new high bar in underwhelming their own fans in a managerial appointment.
I was not even close to that level of indifference when Di Canio was announced and was attracted to his infectious enthusiasm.
Well done Paolo so far, well done.
His influence is starting to take effect.
Looking forward to watch the team he builds ; we might have just found ourselves something here.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a shock Sunderland have a new boss who wins a couple of games and the banners are back out. Scenes seen when Oneil was first on the scene. Wait until the honeymoon period is over before banging the drums. again!

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't do banners, but if we did we would at least be able to spell them. Remember the toon "Boycout" banner, everyone else does in the country. Ha Ha Ha. Chris-s.

Agree0 Disagree0

What was it they were saying up the road?
'Di Canio is a nutter who will implode and bring the club down with him'.
'No-one to score goals now we've lost our main centre forward'.
'Impossible run in with 3 points against Stoke the best we can hope for'.
'Another derby day demolition on the cards'. (well 1 out of 4)

To all the mags who infest our forum, I say this. Read his autobiography and know your enemy. It won't make comfortable reading. For us, the future looks bright.

Agree0 Disagree0

Like it has already been said I wouldn't shout from the roof tops just yet. You did that when O Neil first took over and seen how that ended. you have won a couple of games and no more.

Agree0 Disagree0

The annoyance you feel at your sides ineptitude over the last two games is palpable. Your team was unable to inflict that mortal wound for which your kind so hoped. Instead your team was out-thought, out-fought and out-played.
Not so much a nail in the coffin as a humiliating reverse.
5 more years of Pardew or 2 1/2 years of Di Canio - I'll let you decide.

Agree0 Disagree0

You win your first in years and out come the fair weather fans and the spew of your new dawn. All which had been said before. Bruce was going to get you into Europe, O Neil was the greatest thing since the wheel. How did they work out for you?

Agree0 Disagree0

You need to snap out of your huge sulk soon Geordie - your presence on this forum is like Nero fiddling while Rome burns. I believe there are growing calls for Pardews head on the other channel, whilst you demonstrate an unhealthy obsession with us. Go home and contribute.
Remember, although you have won nowt since 1955, you're still in the 'Cock of the North cup'!

Agree0 Disagree0

What sulk. Just pointing out the obvious. you don't want us saying told you so Again! You lot say the same thing very time you get a new boss. As for your obsession, just as many makems on our site. After all its a banter site. Dry your eyes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh Newcastle finish in Europe spot last year, expected champions league this year and u know what maybe win the league a season after that
Yeah that seems about right, let's give our d**k head manager an 8 YEAR CONTRACT, because that won't come back to bite you on the arse
Now you might get relegated
HILARIOUS!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol so true

Agree0 Disagree0

So might you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not under super PAOLO DI CANIO
He's that good, I think we'll give him an 8 year contract

if we manage to stay up which looks a lot more likely after the last 2 games I can't see a lot of transfers coming in or players leaving. I think pdc will have a good look over who we have at the moment with Cattermole brown and fletcher all returning from injuries and some of the young lads making the bench 3 yesterday. myself and I think most of sunderland supporters on here were thinking at the start of the season we had our best squad of players since peter reids time in charge but unfortunately down to mon tactics and the players confidence taking a knock with poor performance and players playing out of position the season has been a nightmare really. I would like to see rose being our main signing for next season. would like to think we could start with the following next season. mignolet
rose
o'shea
cuellar
colback out standing yesterday as rb Johnson
ndiaye
Larsson
mclean
sessegnon
graham/fletcher
with the likes of
Cattermole
gardener
Vaughan
killgallon
brown
westwood
bardsley
wickham
plus some of the younger lads making the breakthrough into the first team so in my opinion can't see a lot of transfer activity at sol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We need:
1 LB
1 RB
2 CB
2 MF
2 strikers
Cant see it happening.
Not blaming lack of funds.
It is very hard to get the right players.
I think PDC will keep us up and he has already transformed the existing squad.
Hope we can keep Rose.
Killgallon will be away.

Agree0 Disagree0

I just hope for a real enforcer at the back and a couple of pacey attacking players with flair. Safc93

Agree0 Disagree0

LB: danny rose
RB: micah richards
CB: kolo toure
MF: Christian atsu
ST: Alfred finnbogason
ST: jermain Defoe

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Rose should be a priority!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry disagree feel PDC will clear a lot of players out and bring in much needed skill. we still need creative players!

Agree0 Disagree0

Larsson going knowhere as pdc stated he thinks he is one of the best in the league in his position would like to see colback finnish the season at r, b can't see many comings or goings at sol

Agree0 Disagree0

Not getting Defoe/ too good
Liverpool going for Richards with 15m fee/ would be a dream if we got him though.
Would like
rose
Dawson or Kaboul
Lescott
Martin Kelly
Milner
Christian Atsu
Remy/ release Claus in contract because QPR is getting relegated

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a few players no doubt about that
DANNY ROSE, SIGN HIM UP!!!
But the main plan is to find players best positions, Colback, Gardener, Larsson
And work tactics and getting the squad, all on the same wavelength (instead of hoofing the ball up field letting sess run after it) and getting the players fitter

Can't believe colback (a left footed cm) had his best game of the season at rb. Safc93

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Couldn't agree more, I'm his biggest critic but yesterday he was simply superb.

I think we should put a cheeky attempt in for Andy Carroll

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Carroll is a pudding, why would Liverpool want rid of him. He has no balance, or pace, he is just big and awkward to play against and he is much overrated.

Agree0 Disagree0

AND he hates sunderland with a passion.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is also trouble!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt touch Caroll with a bargepole!

Agree0 Disagree0

Strong player
Good header of ball
Will flick headers one for sess and Johnson to run onto

Liverpool said he would be on the bench every game
He doesn't want that
