Now Liverpool's offer for Balotelli has been accepted, where does that leave Borini. Is he more likely to come to Sunderland or make a switch to AC Milan as part of the Balotelli deal? Is this what he's been waiting for all this time?

If Balotelli signs we will defo know if Borini really wants to come to us as Gus says. There is no other reason to stay at Liverpool.

So if the Echo's comments are correct about our transfer budget having being used and that we're now looking at loans, that effectively rules out the likes of Richards, van Dijk, Welbeck and so on; those players are only likely to leave their current clubs on permanent deals.

Let's hope the Echo have got this wrong like everything else they report on our club

{Ed024's Note - How can we have no cash available if the Borini deal is still on the table ?}

Eds right. That would mean we gave up on Borini when we got Rodwell. I saw that article. I don't see how those numbers could be right.

I'm disappointed, too, but I'm trying to trust Gus. I've seen a lot of comments (and agreed with them) about not knowing who our targets are. As much as this frustrates me, I feel it might be necessary after watching so many of our targets go to Hull of all places. Who knows if any of them were actual targets to begin with, but I still hate to see it. Especially, after we had such a hard time against them all 3 times last season. Why would a player pick Hull over SAFC?! Hopefully, we get the players we need. I have a feeling we will see a couple signings on Deadline Day, but I hope we get some in before that. 4 would be nice.

Well the borini money is there so we can still get 1/2more decent players in and possibly a couple of loan players

Why Hull over SAFC? You answered your own question sighting last seasons results. then there is Europe, ambition and no visible unrest/ squabbling over transfer policy, direction etc. sell Wickham? Yes, no, sign not sign etc 4 players by next week etc versus Hull buying players they target and all agreed over sale of Long. Unity stability and ambition still have a place for payers (along with cold hard cash)

Gus still has time to address the issues concerned, however like everyother fan around the country- it is nice to just have a few cheeky rumours floating around which makes things more interesting and exciting. Thank goodness the borini one is over and we can move onto players that might be worth their valuation!

Ok maybe borini is over valued right now but he is a player that Gus knows and that could fit straight into the team. A young player with regular football under Gus would see his value increase greatly
