You lot are too busy critising NUFC to look at what is going on at your club. An under strength side with the players you have already mentioned draws a game against an American side played in extremely hot conditions is a decent result. No goals conceded. You lot have spent millions, and by the look of things have not improved at all.

You can't even make predictions based on preseason friendlies. Look what happened to us after we got relegated, we got beat 6-1 by Leyton Orient [lol]. then proceeded to walk the Championship. Its for getting players match fit so they can actually perform during the season.

We may have won no cups but in this day and age of football being in the champions league is classed as success as it generates money and that what a business is for Some clubs like portsmouth for example won a cup and it hit them hard financially If winning cups did that to you yet being in and competing in the CL brings more cash in then id rather not win the domestic cups and compete at the top

Look at Birmingham. Win a domestic cup. Get relegated. Is it worth it? Is it s**te. Sure they get into the Europa League, but they won't go far.

Thank god for that. peace finally, anyway moving on, newcastle may of done well getting into champs league etc. . but they spent alot of money and still couldn't win anything. Since the relegation they took the chance of keeping their better players and paying high wages to them in the championship, now it is showing as there seems to be not much money being spent and they giving their fans false promises. No way newcastle can move forward with Ashley and Pardew in charge. honestly fear for them without the taking the mick, sunderland have spent alot of money but Bruce has made back more than what he has spent and we are slowly getting better each season.

Lets be honest here though, we comfortably finished 12th last season and were unlucky [stupid] not to finish in the top half. I know there is all of this "second season blues" and whatever, but our team is strong enough to stay up again, and possibly improve on our position. We'll never get into the top 6 again, or at least not for a long time because we don't have the financial backing of the teams up there.

Ashley has done well to get us stable financially, but his ambition is to sell the club for as much as possible it would seem. Which to him means us getting better without any backing. His logic is f***ed up in that way.

I'm grateful to him that we aren't in debt now, but its time for him to move on. In short, he's a good businessman, but a poor football club owner.

I'll agree with that mate, my point of view as a sunderland fan is he might be getting you out of the red but getting Pardew to make these promises to the fans is ridiculous, they both should just come out and tell the fans the truth and say sorry but it is the way it is at the moment
