As with safc, nufc lost their best striker in january. this was the reason both teams didn't pick up many points from then! as for injuries both teams had them and to important players. . .but nufc were just promoted and successfully stayed up and can build from that. i know this will sting a little but safc failed miserably and to gloat that they beat a promoted by one point shows your ambition. let it also be said that safc didn't in any way contribute towards nufc finishing below them as they got stuffed by nufc!

Sad fans from both sides screwcastle got what they set out for to stay in premiership and sunderland got what quinn and bruce aimed for top 10 finish so why all the crying like little girls in the playground grow up

SAFC announced that bruce has actually made a 20m profit over his time at the club over his transfers. Safc also had one of the youngest team in the prem last season. So let the scum read that and think of a reply.

You only finished that high because yous had a good start to the season with a full squad. The second half of your season was pathetic and embarrassing and the whole team should have been ashamed of themselves. Newcastle were just average all season and had terrible away form. You lot shouldn't get ahead of yourselves because you finished 1 point clear of your rivals, that doesn't make you a good team, and lets face it. You are not a good team.

They still thrashed you 5-1 and outplayed you at your own ground, would have beaten you twice had it not been for a goal that Gyan didn't even know about. Newcastle exceeded everyone expectations last year, Sunderland just did what everyone already knew they would, finish mid-table at best. Newcastle were also the more entertaining team. On top of that, they didn't lose like 10 games in a row.

You are not a bigger team than Newcastle by any stretch of the imagination, they have more fans, better fans, a better stadium and really, a better team. They scored more, won more and conceded less than you did. I know who I, and most others view as the more successful team last season. Then again, after being the second best team in the North East for so long you need to grasp at any victory you can get.

We had a good start with a full squad then we lost alot of players to injury and lost our strikers to injury, we had to play midfielders upfront and you wonder why we lost 10 in 14 or whatever, not to mention 8 or 9 off them teams we played were in the top half of the table at the time. you are talking trash. the fact is yeah you beat us 5-1 and have better attendances but it didn't make you finish the season as top dogs or the previous 2 seasons either. now go on your own page and stop boring us with your garbage. peace

Its not like you only fielded 9 players each week is it! thtas what a squad is for! if injuries stopped you winning the league then should have a bigger squad with more in depth quality instead of using it as an excuse accept the failure! level terms this season!

not a chance of getting wickham or n"zogbia !

Never put an offer in for nzogbia yet but a canny one for wickham wheres the sgb big offers

Whickam is totally unproven at this level. Putting in a big bid (even 8m) is a big risk. If it works out then fair play, but don't get your expectations too high just yet.

Whickham looks like a real prospect for the future but he aint no saviour of any premiership club and shouldnt be expected to be so. plus if you read or even can you will see he is holding out for his prefferred teams of liverpool or spurs so safc will miss out

not sure if people will agree but i think larsson is a cracking player can play on the left or the right shoot with both feet not a lot of pro's can do this and the best thing for free would rather get another 2 of these type of players than wasting 12 mill for nzogbia and pay him silly wages which will distabalise the club on the up could we break into top 6 without injuries last year think we would have went close and would have finnished 12 t 15 points above the daft lads from sjp

Good points about larsson think he will turn out to be an excellent signing ! given time i think dong won surprise a few ppl aswell . these type of players and a couple of quality forwards should mean we will have a good season ! don't think we will get wickham or n"zogbia tho , hope im wrong!
