How about Steve Bould has manager?

Ex Sunderland player and assistant to Arsene Wagner got to be a good shout.

Or Stefan Schwarz

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How about mickey mouse, might aswell since we're not being serious and just picking anyone that comes to mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

No we will leave Mickey mouse for Newcastle when pardew goes they are in Disneyland anyway so he will fit in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would rather have mickey mouse on the staff than joe kinnear

Well, Lawrenson has a 1-1 draw against Liverpool
Not a fan of PDC

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Liverpool have not changed much in nearly 2 years, they still need a lot of chances to score. If you can limit the amount of chances they get, there is no reason you cannot get a draw against Liverpool. A lot of teams in the bottom half of the table will get draws against Liverpool this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool will score 5 now you said that well done mate.

Can't give it to Poyet please! Bingo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

People may laugh here. but I think Ray Wilkins has one of the best footballing brains around, good motivator. if we have to suffer poyet would be good to have ray along side him. any thoughts?

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea went to mush after Wilkins was let go.

Newcastle fan in peace.

Just wondering if you guys would think that Lee Clark would be a good choice of manager? Personally I think he has done very well at the clubs he has been at also he knows the club and his teams always play good football

Jimmy1976

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fellow Newcastle fan here, in kinks laughing at that one.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jimmy you are kidding of course, he is as welcome here as a dose of gonorrhoea, that post is not in peace you silly billy.

Agree0 Disagree0

No sunderland look like getting POYET a manager YOU wanted. Oh well enjoy PARDEW and KINNEAR lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Clark is that good why don't you fight his corner in newcastle, certainly sounds better than pardew

Agree0 Disagree0

Clark is doing well at Birmingham with no money and he could end up at premiership level but not with sunderland. he was also a good player at sunderland but he put himself in a situation which he shouldn't have I have no ill feeling towards lee clark and wish himself the best for the future unless he goes to Newcastle but I think he has more sense than to do that.

bit of banter lads to get away from the manager crack. I had a drink with bobby kerr on Saturday night and we got round to favourite players I said mine was gary rowell and will never forget the day coming out of st james after the 4-1 demolition. anyway lads who do you think bobby kerr picked as his favourite player and he said if this lad had shown his full potential would have been one of our best players will give you answer tomorrow.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would think Kevin? Arnott. He was a local lad and was brilliant creative midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed024's Note - I'd go for Shaun Elliot - majestic at the back.}

Keiran brady

Agree0 Disagree0

Shaun elliot for me as well #proppercentrehalf

Agree0 Disagree0

Ritchie pitt until injured
stripey

Jamie Lawrence

Bobby parkes

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd go for Keiran Brady too, outstanding talent sadly never reached his full potential.

Agree0 Disagree0

First reply was spot on kevin arnott he said the lad was amazing but for some reason didn't fulfil the ambition he showed.

Agree0 Disagree0

This was my post. I have watched Sunderland since the 50's in the Roker End and then the Fulwell End. Live in the South now but have been to exciting places like Gillingham, Southend, Reading (ElmPark) etc. I said weeks ago that Paulo had to change his system as two strikers and two wingers would leave the midfield exposed. Kevin Ball thinks like me. Its old fashioned but there is a need to get the basics right before you can push on. Need for a good spine is essential.

no info or not a rumour lads see poyet is 1/8 for the job but a big springer in the market today is murat yakin can't see him coming after last weeks result though.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He would be a better option than others being touted around. Has done well with FC Basel and they do not exactly have unlimited funds. Their league may not be up to the standard of ours but they have performed well in Eurpoe.

Might give Cabral a boost as well!

Murat Yakin odds have been cut a lot now 8/1 second favourite. Where has that come from someone in the know Ed!

Poyet 1/6
Yakin 8/1
Ball 10/1
McClaren 12/1
Meulensteen 14/1
Stramaccioni 16/1
Pulis 16/1
Zola 20/1
Phelan 25/1
Bould 33/1

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed024's Note - I've not heard any whispers about Yakin at all, everything I'm hearing is about Poyet. I must admit I'm nervous about Poyet - no top flight experience !!}

I'm really frustrated about this talk about PDC being a huge mistake and him being written off.
The club needed to go through the PDC period - its been painful, but it was necessary.
The team last season would have been relegated if not for PDC - his drive passion saved us, but only just. While Villa and Norwich played their way clear of the drop, we got out of jail with Wigan losing to Swansea in the penultimate game - if we had gone down no one could have complained, the Newcastle and Everton game turned our season around.
Look at the team now - would you rather have Diakite or Kilgallon/Bramble, Giacherini or Maclean, Altidore or Graham?
We have some really tough fixtures coming up and we need to start picking up points - but please, please don't think we would have been in a better position if Short had allowed MON to continue because we would have been tuning into BBC 1 at midnight on a Saturday rather than 10. 30pm.
Its early enough in the season for the new manager to turn it round - personally I'd take Pullis - his experience would see us safe. Poyet hasn't managed in the EPL - I pray Short knows what he's doing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said. I agree that Pulis is the best of a pretty unexciting bunch, but it sickens me that the underacheivers have driven the manager out. Would Pulis want to take them on?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed024's Note - If offered I'm sure Pullis would take the job - he would be interested in any EPL job, it beats gardening !!!}

Not from these parts, chops and changes managers in a panic, only in it for the money, no judgement when it comes to appointing advisers, club owes him a wodge of cash - almost sounds like Ashley. Vic

Agree0 Disagree0

Like to see bally team up with someone like neville

not a bad draw could of been a lot worse might have got man utd away chelsea spurs away or man city at home LOL

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree but also the likes of birmingham and also burnley who are doing very well league and cup who also have ings and vokes firing i'm pleased we have avoided the embarrasment of getting knocked out by them tbh and if worse comes to the worst and we get beat off the saints then its less embarrasing lol!

Agree0 Disagree0

You lot can have the Capital one cup, I see no reason you could not make it to the semis.

We will take top 10 Premier league, you can have a cup run and relegation. Bon appetit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Musnt like the draw?

Why don't the players pick the new manager? Then they can't spit there dummy's out and blame the manager when things go wrong. They pick there game up for a new manager then after a few games they can't be arsed anymore. Then we get stuck in a circle of new manager brings in loads of his own players, struggles to get rid of the old players, all of which are not good enough, results go bad, sack the manager start again. Sorry for the rant but hope they take there time and get the right man this time.
