Lets be realistic here. I would defy any genuine fan to claim they expected to get any points from last nights match so a -1 goal is probably the nest outcome we could have hoped for. However, that said, our second half performance almost warranted a point.

My take was as follows: -

I liked the three at the back system as it gave RB and LB licence to go forward and still left cover. I particularly liked the two DCM sitting in front as well. The negatives from this were Vergini was a liability and Catts can not pass a ball.

In the first half Giaccherini is not fast enough and is too lightweight along with Altidore and Wickham being too similar.

Second half when we went one big striker, one person who can pass (Ki), and one player who can run at people (Johnson), we started to play good football and looked a threat.

I would therefore stick with this system of 3-4-2-1 as I think he could help keep things tight at the back and allow us to attack at pace without fear of being caught out.

Anyone else agree?

When they read the team sheet out last night I was very surprised. Three centre halves, two holding midfield players and two big strikers. No danger of pretty football with that lineup.

My views after the match -
Virgini can't kick straight.
Cattermole can't kick the ball at all (see first goal)
Wickham might score a goal but Altidore never will
We looked a whole lot better when we brought some football players on.
