IF he signs, and i repeat IF he signs, it will be because no other club was stupid enough to offer up to 13 million for an unproven player aged 18. If Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Man U, had wanted him, they'd have signed him. The fact that none are so far prepared to match your ludicrous offer, would suggest that these clubs don't see enough in him to warrant a bid.
For 13 million, he had better score 15 goals or more next season. Otherwise it's really bad business.

Sunderland are set to deal a major blow to Wolves summer transfer plans by winning the fight for Craig Gardner s signature.

The Birmingham City midfielder had been one of the prime targets for Wolves boss Mick McCarthy in the club s cherry-pick of players from their relegated neighbours.

But Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is understood to have now lodged a £5m bid which has been accepted by Blues and, with the Black Cats offering the biggest financial package in the scramble for Gardner s services, look set to land the signing.

It would be the second time McCarthy has suffered frustration in trying to recruit Gardner having originally wanted the player when he left his first club Aston Villa 18 months ago.

Larsson and Gardner are the future. Forget Cana, he's history and Riveros is off to Turkey on loan.
We should sell Cattermole as well, hopefully to NUFC, as he can't stay on the pitch longer than 10mins.

if any transfer including gibson. the player has a choice between safc and nufc. sunderland will win everytime, as they pay better and the debarcle at st.james is a powder keg waiting to explode. and mike ashley will blow it up

SAF might point his players to sunderland cos he close to bruce but for footballing reasons alone he would say NUFC like he did when half the country wanted Rossi on loan but he come to us.
