For all those who are complaining that we are being linked with all these players but not going out and getting them
In 3 days time, things will seriously hot up, Di Canio, the owner, the fans, etc know the club needs a major shake up, wether its getting new players or making sure the players are physically and mentally fit for the coming season, they will buy the players they think is right for the club, who can do a descent job, who will give their all and who can fit into our squad. The club will have a plan for this season as well as the future, I like the idea that the club is targeting young, energetic players with bags of potential (Mendy, Peruzzi etc), it shows we have a long term plan for future seasons, but we need to get a few premier league experienced players along the lines of Milner and Huddlestone and keep a lot of players we already have as the club will seriously struggle to gel and the squad is thin enough as it is, however we cannot go on a massive spending spree as it is a massive risk, we'll either finish in the top 8 or we will end up like QPR and totally flop, there is no middle, I would prefer 4 or 5 top class players rather than 10 average players who don't have the stomach for the EPL

Been reading a few comments lower down and one says we're in for Luis Muriel, can anyone confirm this or is it a bunch of lies
Would be a great signing if it comes off

I can see us putting a double bid in for Rose and Huddlestone, 13m?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Worth every penny!

Agree0 Disagree0

If this happens, I would happily walk down to London with the money then give Them 2 a piggy back, back up to Sunderland

Agree0 Disagree0

If I could walk that far I would share the load.

Agree0 Disagree0

I`m just getting into biking so i`ll share the load and give rosey a backer back up here to share your workload

Is Duncan still our main target?

Think we need to buy some English players also not just foreigners.

How about Dawson of Spurs?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would love him but don't think spurs would sell

Reports linking us with lee of Bolton. That would be a good solid signing, were lacking wide men at the mo, especially if McLean and sess go. He looked every bit a premier league player two years ago but had a horrible year for injuries last term, that could put a bit of a downer on the deal but I would be happy to see him in red and white

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Linked with Huddlestone again today. Hope this is just lazy journalism.

overrated & overweight. Least mobile player in the prem (behind charlie adams maybe)

Yes he can ping the ball but he's made 6 assists in last 3 season in the prem.
Fiar enough he might have been out the side through injury. but why would we want a 26 year old injury prone firdge.

Hopefully wel stick to buying young players with a point to prove and not these has bins like scotty parket

Faith in di fanti and di canio

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I cannot see him and N'Diaye linking up in midfield.

Looks like N'Diaye is going to be dropped.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your joking!. we need that sort of steel in the middle!.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love Huddlestone, fantastic Midfeilder

Just need Duncan or Milner to partner him and we'll have a cracking Midfeild

Agree0 Disagree0

If he signs, he will be well aware of PDCs attitude towards fitness.
Although I am very pleased to see all these foreign players coming in, it is great to see us linked with players of his Premiership experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Thud has a point to prove, and see's us as the place to do it! Maybe he see's PDC as the man to turn him fully around, get him fit, and show his ability to tha max?

With Tottenham really close to signing Paulinho, anyone think we should put a cheeky bid in for Sigurdsson

Super Kev. One last season in the Prem, a return as a bit player, come ambassador for the club, the media and fans would love it. Think of the shirt sales alone and the lift for the area. I think, if he a played for the last 10 mins or so or set pieces of a game, or in a cup run, for his last season in the top flight, the publicity and the story, it would be amazing. It could be an amazing headline! With the right support and feels he is still potent!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree with you would be a dream come to true for all fans

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you think Ed? {Ed024's Note - No place for sentiment - no place for Philipps}

Agree0 Disagree0

Id love King Kev back here. the crowd would worship him. we are not worthy! lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Would not Take him back he didn't want to come back to us a few years ago why now? plus people on about a final pay day that's all he'd be! So not a chance

Agree0 Disagree0

He didn't want to come back to the NE as his kids were taking exams and mock exams at the time and he didn't want the upheaval of them changing schools, he needed to stay in the midlands. I didn't blame him then or now. It may be a final payday but the club would benefit with the publicity and merchandising if it came of well. It would be a lovely piece of history in the making, who says romance is dead in football, this could be a great thing. Imagine him scoring at Sid james park, or how he would lift the crowd at The SOL with a goal! He would be great in a cup run!
