Our Goalkeeper position is becoming very worrying Westwood look's out of his depth at this level and as he trudged of today his confident's look's on the floor and mannone look's no better after witnessing his equally poor performance in the cup against the mk dons we should have bought an adequate replacement for mignolet and not a cheap squad filler option I'm interested to hear what other fan's view's are regarding the current problem

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes I agree

A fair few of goal we've coincided has been down to his error

Agree0 Disagree0

Westwood is far better than Mannone and after two years on the bench certainly deserved his chance but I would have gone for Tommy or Shay last summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Our goalkeeper will help to take us down, unless we start banging in a few goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

He could do anything with the 3 goals. I don't rate him but today he had a decent performance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on mate, puled a couple of good saves off but my heart was in my mouth when liverpool were attacking. A couple of times there seemed no communication between him and the two central defenders.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well we are being linked with Lille Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama
Pretty good!

Agree0 Disagree0

Both our keepers arn't good enough, Westwood never comes off his line for set pieces, unlike mignolet who cleared everything and his reactions are slow when the ball is on the ground, can't get down fast enough if its low and in the corner, against palace the penalty went underneath him, very poor for a premier keeper.

Agree0 Disagree0

Find it hard to believe someone is blaming westwood the guy had no chance with the goals and his lack of confidence is surely down to the s**** in front of him

How many woefully Inept or biased refereeing performance's does Howard Webb have to have against us before he is no longer able to officiate in our game's. again got numerous key decision wrong corner for first goal was not a corner then to compound the error he and his assistant then go and miss a blatant hand ball or elbow if your being pedantic for the first goal does the look of guilt from sturridge not give it away but before they scored they should have been reduced to ten men for the clear and blatant block on giacherini but because webb would have had to send the defender off he choose to turn a blind eye. I know the southern media and press will just say it only sunderland so these thing's happen but it is now becoming a bit of a farce as it is now the second time it has happened in the last two home game's against the media favourite's or so called top six team as they like to call them the EPL have got to get there act together and start taking these extremely poor or corrupt people to task by not just demoting them for a game so some other club's fans have to endure there ineptitude but by dropping them from there match rota or do we have to endure it all again in our next home game as we have another of the favoured team's finally the back pass or pass forward which mignolet then pick's up and everybody in the ground witnesses but again Webb and his equally follicully challenged assistant somehow amazingly miss ENOUGH IS ENOUGH SORT IT OUT sunderland afc should be making a call to mike Riley to explain why this is continually happening

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So this why you got beat then?

Right ok
We played very well but still lost
Room for improvement

Things need to bl**dy change, because I'm sick as a parrot now

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree, but those players out there today, our so called "senior players" don't want change do they?

Agree0 Disagree0

First goal was the key. Rank bad defending, even though it was a handball. Against a counter attacking side like Liverpool it's catastrophic to give away like this. Cattermole and Ki were good, but Altidore does not look like scoring. Need to work on the defending of set pieces (goalkeeper needs to be more assertive) and experiment with centre forward to find someone in the club who can hit a barn door.

Agree0 Disagree0

Serious what can altidore do upfront by himself! not like he has mata, hazard, ozil behind him! we were unlucky today!

Agree0 Disagree0

We will be relegated at this rate!

Agree0 Disagree0

My god honestly I am happy with what I saw today and all yous can do is moan and say we going down :/. Come on lads we don't really expect much from liverpool there challenging for top 4 easy this year, and there squad is way better than ours let's face it we would never expect a win. But I see it this way, if we play like that every game we will beat more than half the teams in the prem. We were pressing every ball and wanted it more than any game so far, but class won it for them. In my eyes I am happy we played well so just keep the faith it will come.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree their quality won it, I found them disappointing for most of the game for a team at the top, however same old problem for us we don't turn possession into goals, our final ball into the box is poor, eg Johnson yesterday, also jozy won most balls but had no support quickly from his team mates, he won't score 20 a season up front on his own, we don't play to our strengths and unless we do we are in trouble.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to give the job to bally and If we play like that every week then we will be fine, I've seen Both Bally's games and we are playing good attacking football, I got a spurs mate and even he said we were unlucky against liverpool, No one can do better than what Bally has donein 2 games with those players, we may be fighting relegation this season so far but if we keep Bally on and play like that then we will be finishing midtable by the end of the season

Another game where we played much better than the other team for most of the game. Yet again no result. Altidore looks alright holding up the ball but is just a bit lazy in the middle. Give Wickham a bloody chance already! Very unlucky with the ref today Sturridge's goal was handball and we should have had a penalty somewhere. Then ripped open by Gerrard's brilliant pass and then a good counter attack against a tired team. Man Utd next. Yikes. I see us being stuck to the foot of the table for a while. yet, Ball has already shown he's got the players in the other team's face. I don't see why we should look past him? Unlucky Sunderland, unlucky.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thought we played really well today, unlucky against a strong side, only downside what's happening with our defence?o'shea always backing off cuellar is very slow and colback who's normally reliable was out of position so many times, glad cattermole's back, maybe there's hope after all.

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree, Kevin Ball has gone back to picking woeful players like Cuellar and Larsson who tried there upmost to take us down last season, took a right back out the side and put a midfielder back in at right back and didn't change it soon enough when Liverpool took game back over after we scored. He's a credit to our football club but as our manager, absolutely not. We played with some passion but that will definitely not be enough to give us even a chance of staying up. Sorry to be blunt and downbeat but that's the reality. Di canio lost the battle but was absolutely right to question virtually everything going on in our football including rubbish like pop robson so I hope we understand he was the right appointment at the time and shouldn't go back to safe predictable naff appointments.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alti a bit lazy?? played his heart out

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's get things straight. We are like a blocked drain at present. The blockage is proving difficult to budge but eventually it will be free and the drain flowing.
I am not happy at all at this moment as I thought at times our defending was shockingly bad but neither are we carrying any luck. I did however see some decent play and I believe we will eventually turn that luck around and woe betide the side that is on the receiving end of that. My own view it will happen in four weeks as the longer this run goes on then the more arrogant the opposition booked for that day will think that turning up will be enough. It will get better, but hopefully sooner rather than later.

Agree0 Disagree0

You're not good enough for the Premier League.

You can argue and say you do not expect to beat the clubs higher up the table, but none of the other clubs in the bottom half would be happy to get beat at home by Liverpool.

Palace could have done better than that. There is no point trying to take positives because you play a bit of good football for a few minutes here and there. You have to go out and put the ball in the back of the net, and you do not have the players to get goals. The only way to get of the foot of the table is to start scoring goals, but where are they going to come from? You don't have a front line that can do anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody likes to get beaten by any team, home or away.
We are having problems up front, sound familiar?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the lad on about the blocked drain, we will improve, Bally must get the job, only time I seen that effort and commitment was when we beat city 1-0, the mugs 0-3 and everton 1-0, it's been a while and I'm backing Bally to get us out of this mess and up that table! the thing is if we play like that against man Utd we may just get a result, they on the slide and their confidence is faltering! HA'WAY THE LADS! also last point how long has it been since the lads got clapped off even losing at home! just shows what Bally has done to them

I think you should be good for at least a draw against Liverpool. If Ball knows what he is doing he will have targeted Sakho for special attention. Sakho is a complete donkey, no excuses for you lot. Get the job done or I will be back to laugh at you.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What team do u support

Agree0 Disagree0

2-0 agreed Marra!

And to prove my point!! We can't rely on passion alone! Ok we tried today unlucky in some decisions but also some pathetic defending again?

No disrespect to the legend Kevin ball? Has no experience of managing a premier league team or any team for that matter! Managing people with big egos especially pampered overpaid ones? Sorry kev maybe as a number two! We have got to get this right and asking these bunch of players who they would like ain't going to cut it! Let's hope the club do the research required to get there man! And to those players who had differences with di canio! You better step up to the plate! I read today Bardsley is being considered! Is this not the very same footballer who mocked his fellow teammates! Not happy at all with that like! Trials and tribulation of a sunderland supporter!!

I for one would be very happy with Pearce and Bally as his number 2 because think about it, who performs all the time whilst under Pearce? Wickham. He loves the kid. And he always seems to know how to get him to score goals. He's done wonders with that U'21 team and I think he could do a decent job here. Thoughts?

why go for maclaren he's crap guy shoot not even be given an interview if he gets the job I can't see me going back to watch them while he's in charge I've been watching sunderland for 52yrs if he does get it season ticket goes on ebay may get 20quid for it if i'm lucky

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I do not believe this person has been a supporter for 52 years. He knows very little about managing a football team. Its not easy getting good players to come, so we need to produce more through the Academy and then keep them. Henderson and Colback were the two best players in the youth team that nearly reached the FA youth final. McClaren showed at the Boro he would give kids a chance. We need to use the experienced Premier players (as Kevin Ball) is doing to stay up, but then need to develop our own in the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have been a supporter for over fifty years as well. If we get Mclaren bang goes my season ticket for next year. No way I would flog this seasons for £20. It's not fully paid for yet.

I'm not defending PDC selling Sessegnon but just because he had a motm performance against Man U it doesn't mean we made a mistake. Yes on his day he was awesome but they were few and far between. Then every now and again came the I'm not settled or happy at Sunderland carry on. He's gone, get over it!

Wow
Sess did Man Utd
You have to feel that PDC destroyed his confidence as he did with everyone else
