the southern press started all this surelly they knew about him when he was playing for west ham or charlton as they would delve into his past but as soon as he signs for a north east team they stir it

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Absolutely, the southern (and Manchester) press hate all our guts and you are now the media laughing stock. Well, if you win nothing else this year then at least you've taken the Muppet Mantle from us. Nice change. Best Regards, your mates from Barrack Road.

Agree8 Disagree2

Please don't be so modest, nobody could take that mantle away from you.

Even the great Harry Rednapp OF QPR has said Di Canios job at Sunderland is a great appointment! good on you Harry!

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Harry said that did he? oh Bless!

Agree7 Disagree1

Aye, a great appointment for QPR. The more disruption at the wrong end of the league the better it is for him. A haven't heard owt from Sir Alec or Arsen and them? doh!

heard on tv today that Milliband has told friends that he does not believe PDC is a racist nor a facist, so why the hell did he open his big useless gob in the first place. Does he not realise wot a tool he is and the fact a lot of politicians are thieves, ie living expenses etc.
I for one hope in the near future he or his brother get found out for dishonesty that would be sweet.
I can see us getting a point from Chelsea and 3 from the in the next 2 games. We will be safe before we play Spurs, I may even put some cash on it I am so confident. Let's all get behind the new manager and say b******* to the muppets who drone on about politics.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Opened his big mouth because no none listens to him about important stuff that's why his brother steve oops sorry ed got shot of him from labour party

Just heard the ITV news and they said in the intro to the story that he talked a little bit about football but mainly about the fascism. It then showed the interview. He only talked a little about the football because they didn't ask anything else apart from the fascism. Ed do you think that people are being harsh having not seen any match under di canio? Oh and the Durham miners have asked to have their flag taken back from the sol. I hope all this hassle is worth it! {Ed001's Note - I just think the media see it as a chance to get viewers/clicks etc, they don't really care about anything else. They will continue to stir it up, continously, until people get bored of it and then they will stir up trouble somewhere else.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Ye until milliband gets investigated for fiddling expenses,, funny how he's gone from an important political figure to a noone maybe that's why he started all this because he's sick of brother ed getting all the news coverage

Agree3 Disagree0

Just ordered a second hand copy of his 2000 autobiography on line. Want to find out about his views in context for myself. Reading a few extracts in the Mail (which I hate) today, his quotes have been taken dreadfully out of context.

Agree1 Disagree0

Just been reading comments left on the sunderland echo about mr hopper and his comments about the banner didn't know a man could be hated so much really shot himself in the foot

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Apr 2013 19:40:44
Can everyone just calm down. I have listened to PDC and can take what he has said at face value not what some cherry picked comments made some 8 years ago. If we let this media circus carry on it will distract from surely the most important point staying in premiership can we all just get back to FOOTBALL

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Look at what happened to the woman a few weeks back who said 'THE MEDIA portrayed Kate as a plastic princess designed for breeding' it was reported as her calling the princess that. Two very different things-ensued a media witchhunt over comments that they had twisted and took out of context. Very disturbing that the media are making more of a drama out of us appointing Di Canio than North & South Korea being on the verge of war!

well ed I love coming on here for the banter and as you can see I clearly put my opinions over and some people like them some don't. but I have one thing I would like to see before I die and that is sunderland away in Europe having seen both the home games in 73 I am red and white through and through and will always have a passion for sunderland football club although I might never get to see sunderland in Europe I will follow them whoever is in charge so I say to all sunderland fans on here does it really matter who is in charge as long as he brings stability and hopefully success to my beloved club. so get behind pdc the players and the club do as I do go to the games and show your true sundrland supporters.

Here here well said my friend

Is this country crazy, I can't believe that dicanio is getting more coverage on tv than them from derby who killed their six kids and a paedophile who is not going to jail. Italian way of life and ideas are far different to ours, Hope milliband is happy the hypocrite

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Agree this story about Di Canio is given ridiculous coverage!. millaband has been been made a fool. let's have a support Di Canio petition! let's talk about football on here not polictics. enough is enough!

Agree5 Disagree0

Wat did milliband do anyway apart from chew his pen top and cry because his little brother nicked the big job. go to the usa and get laughed at

de canio said he wanted to move up a step and manage a championship team (soon will be)

Believable1 Unbelievable9

Spelling mistake is a dead giveaway, its obviously a post from a skunk, ha, ha.

Agree10 Disagree2

Anyone can make a mistake i'm a red and white m8

He won't need to, sunderland will be in their rightful championship place next season.

Anyone else see that bloke on tv saying that him and his partner have asked for a refund on their season tickets for next season due to Di Canio coming in some people are just so fickle its unbelievable they do it so they can be in the limelight on TV in front of there friends and families they see them selves more as customers than a fan and a supporter I wouldn't throw my season ticket away if Alan Shearer was in charge with Steven Taylor as his assistant.
#love being a true fan #Sunderland till I die

Believable10 Unbelievable4

He didn't sound as if he was from up here. At the end of the day the real fans will support the club no matter what and that's all that matters. Safc93

Agree8 Disagree0

Its not a question of being fickle, its just that some people have morals, nothing wrong in that.

Agree1 Disagree7

Ye he looked like a bit of a tool to me

Steve walford, steve guppy, jim henry and 1 other have all left with di canio bringing his own staff in. Safc93

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Get in nice fresh start means
no more british championship fodder players more attacking football more passion at the games gets the players fired up for the derby I don't no about everyone else but i'm happy :)

Agree10 Disagree1

How to ruin a player in one season (mclean) by steve guppy

Agree7 Disagree0

Yes let's get some foreign talent and skill in the team. look at Micho at Swansea!

Talent will do

Believable7 Unbelievable0

One thing will be certain it will be more attacking than oneills football

And fitter

At. a caravan site near blackpool and I. Wearing my safc top and people have been telling me there views on di Canio. Three Swindon fans have positively commented on him and 2 scouces and 4 Essex lads
Bennisimo

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Bad luck people, this man will kill you off, relegation now for certain now, Unless that is if you don't have Foy on your side every match

Agree1 Disagree8

Jealous mag, could be worse we could have pardew! sgb!

Agree6 Disagree0

Another Swindon fan with sour grapes get a look at your own club and how they are going to miss out on promotion because di canio left {Ed001's Note - actually they are struggling due to finances, not because Di Canio left.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah Pardew next for the chop!

Agree6 Disagree0

Pdc is a real character which is great for football he's ticking all the boxes for me better than that wet lettuce pardwho up the road

I could guarantee more clean sheets with 1 transfer.
That would be to sell no in fact give bramble away.
Every club he has played for he has been terrible.

02 Apr 2013 12:47:42
So let me get this straight, di canio played in Britain for about 8 years and then manages Swindon for nearly 2 years and nothing was said but he becomes a premier league manager and people go on as if they want him hung? Safc93

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Put that down to milliband and his parting comments not bad for a guy who is leaving the country to take up a job in the u. s on 600k a year for a charity yet the same charity will be begging people who have nothing for their money to pay his wages. sunderland and south shield should be glad to see the back of this guy

I think a lot of football owners/board have no idea about the
Sport. With a manager like oneil with a few more years
You would be in the running for Europe. But instead he is sacked after 1 bad season, with a record like his he should
Be given as much time as he needs. Now instead of bringing
In a better coach, they bring in dicanio who has no experience in managing a club. I know he managed Swindon.
But did he really, what has he done, what he did do was
Spend their money, got them in trouble money wise,
And walked away. As a Celtic fan I am disgusted with the way
Mon was sacked. You have just got rid of probably the best
Manager you will ever have. Good luck in championship.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

The man was dragging us down, his tactics were none existent and he had no plan b, you can't judge him on his time at Celtic because I could win the league as celtics manager! Football is about results and wasn't getting any. We'd be down if he stayed so a change could be what was needed, time will tell.

Agree4 Disagree1

Mon did not just win the league for us
He completely set Celtic up after he left.
He turned Leicester into a serious
Premier league team.
All I can say to the ungrateful fans of
Mon hope u enjoy the championship.
As you won't see the epl for a few years. {Ed001's Note - he left Celtic in serious difficulties, leading to Strachan having to shed huge amounts off the wage bill and still try and compete. Incidentally, Strachan still managed a better European record than MON, despite that one UEFA final. He also left Leicester in a similar state, old men on long term and ridiculously overpaid contracts, that led to them struggling as soon as the following manager tried to rectify it. His record at Villa was also similar. I don't see anything different about his time at Sunderland either. I have never understood the media fascination with O'Neill at all, he doesn't even play football that is good to watch.}

Agree2 Disagree2

We may well go down under Di Canio I don't know. But anyone who has seen us play in the last few weeks I am sure will agree that we were definately going down under O'Neil. This at least gives us a chance. The final nail for me with O'Neil was when he said before the Man U game that we had been playing well. We had not. We have fro a long time been playing the worst football in the division. At least now even if we go down it will be having a go and trying to win a game instead of crossing our fingers and hoping to nick a goal.

Agree6 Disagree0

That's one of the best replies I have seen from any ed on these pages well done

Shame on football fans! The modern football fan must have zero iq! I'm a Liverpool fan my grandfather fought and died fighting fascism. This man shouldn't even be in the country. I am 100% behind the Durham miners I used to have the utmost respect for Sunderland and their fans, but it seems they don't give a stuff!

The many who left Sunderland in the 1930s to travel to Spain and risk their lives fighting evil must be turning in their graves! Think educate yourselves before supporting this person!

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Look, politics has no place in football. Whether he's a fascist or not doesn't bother me in the slightest. His job and sole purpose is to do his best for this club. As long as he does that then I don't care what he is.

being a mag I have to laugh because not long ago safc where saying MON is one of the top managers in uk which tbh I never rated him at all. ( still thinks he is a 1980, s player trying to mimick notts forrest) glas you got him which means he will never come to us. before you all twist saying get on your own banter page relax I like safc and nufc in the same league for derby days. di canio is a bad choice he might save you, s but I agree with some of the edds below disaster waiting to happen. k

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Being a mag you should be concentrating on the rest of your season, you are only 3 points away from the dredded relegation zone! That's right one loss and another team getting a win means you will be right in it up to your necks so get those sore bum cheeks off your high horse and smell the threat of relegation just like us live in the now fellow struggler! And what will be will be so come back in 7 games and start the slaver or not!

Agree3 Disagree2

Martin O'Neill is a better manager than Pardew your success last season and your decent foreign signings is all due to one man carr your chief scout can't be that good though you've droped like 11 places in the table

Agree5 Disagree2

You're only saying that just because MONs left.

Agree0 Disagree1

He's average when Robertson is not his number 2 with Robertson he's great

Agree0 Disagree0

I, m not only saying that after MON has left I did have banter with numerous fans on here last season about mon. have a check what ed001 has to say about mon as I pretty much agree. never mind us only been 3 points ahead as I bet you would swap places with us as we are ahead have a much stronger and better team and the reason we have been bad this season is we never bought during summer then with all the injuries we had on top of the 13+ extra games we played more than safc is the reason we are where we are. I don't mind pardew tbh we have had the big time managers and blew fortunes on over rated players where did that get us but I guess your there now paying over the odds in wages for has beens. k

Agree0 Disagree2

It amazes me how they blame injuries.
Sunderland have had more problems with injuries than most other teams.
Basically our poor performance has been a missing manager ( turned up on Thursday after being missing for 10 days apparently ). Also his lack of ability to manage when present.
Pratdew has done little better.

Agree2 Disagree0

And forgot to say carr is an awesome scout that's why we give him an extra long term contract to stop the big boys coming for him do you agree edd. k

Agree0 Disagree0

Parew done better last year jeez or jizz what ever you call yourself than any other safc manager has in EPL so get yourself a hobby possibly a woman instead of talking crap on here. k {Ed024's Note - Is is fair to say that the success of last year has cost you this year ?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well well, Kay back from under her stone. Pardew was being slated by your own fans before you lot had a good run. Being slated again due to ppp at the moment.
]Get a grip and go preach your own crap on your own site.
By the way already have a very fine woman. Maybe you should take your own advice and get a decent bloke. You always sound a bit bitter when you come on here.

Agree1 Disagree0

Nope not from under a stone jizz i, ve been training in america tbh u can allways pop in to shiney row where I train at fightpit and this chick can vent some of this built up frustration ( as you call it) on you yout makem but lol. tbh i, m quite happy with pardew as ed clearly says above out success as cost us this year just as being in europe as cost us but the only reason its cost us is we never brought enough players in after getting rid of 5 - 6 players in the summer then having tiote gone cabaye, taylor, hba, and ryan talor all injured its cost us. a lot of our fans are like safc, s. want big name signings on big money and if it don't happen they twist but let's be clear that way only goes one way as we learnt 10 years ago and safc are learning now. k
