Use our rumours form to send us sunderland transfer rumours.

Just a thought lads, but why doesn't Marty just play 4-2-1 formation with 4 goalkeepers. Reckon it's worth looking into?

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Why would we need 4 goalies when we have one of the best in the league the way newcastle villa wigan reading southampton are shipping goals they could do with playing 2 or 3 daft lad

Agree2 Disagree1

Oh you think we should go top heavy. Like a 2-2-5 formation with only two goal keepers. I like the sound of that.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sounds good but we've only got one striker if he gets injuries were doomed

So many people coming on to complain about our Swansea result. I agree that it was uninspiring, but we have to remember years ago when we were uninspiring in home games we would lose 4-1 to the likes of Bolton and Portsmouth. I just hope MON signs a few players who will produce a spark in games we look uninspiring in

Scott Sinclair is a non starter. FA or FIFA rules state a player cannot play for more than 2 clubs in any one season. He's played for both Swansea and Man City this season. He's spending the rest of the season on City's bench!!!

safc to surprise all of us on Thursday
GRAHAM IS COMING!!!
a rb bid has gone in and awaiting response overnight - safc knocked back over jenkinson loan deal last week
downing is NOT coming
Bent is NOT coming
Carlton Coles name keeps cropping up but this WONT happen
we are NOT looking at foreign young strikers
Samba bid was in two weeks ago, QPR have offered him a fortune to help save them- oneil still waiting response as bid was accepted but player wants to get as much money as possible.
Scott Sinclair is another player who safc had put loan bid in for

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Sinclair is not eligable to play for any team other than Man City or Swansea

Will everyone please get a grip. I think our fans must have an inherent problem where they aren't happy unless they have something to whinge about. We drew with a very good Swansea side, there is no disgrace in being outplayed by that team, were not the first this season and we certainly won't be the last. Our last few performances have been very encouraging but we aren't going to become a top half team overnight, big spending for short term success is definitely not the way forward, just ask boro. Mon is moving the club in the right direction and we all need to give him and the players our full support lm86

Lost out on bid for Sporting Lisbon defender Bruno Pereirinha, who instead is going to Lazio for a fee in the region of £2.1m, according to Portuguese reports.

Unbelievable- I hope! I read on the Telegraph site that O'Neill is offering Wickham to Swansea in order to obtain his latest obsession. I hope that this is not true, because Graham is not half the player Wickham could be if he had someone who knew how to get the best out of him, and giving away talented young players for second rate older players is not a sensible strategy. If it true, then the sooner O'Neill goes the better.

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Graham has scored 22 goals in a season and a half wichkam scored once . i rest my case . id have Graham anytime !

Agree1 Disagree1

Wickham played about 30 mins in season and half. Get a grip you spud. Why pay 5m quid for a player to sit on bench.graham same type player as fletch if its not working you cannot bring on graham to change things around. We need somebody with different style

Agree0 Disagree0

Cud we not bring graham on to play alongside fletcher !!?

Any supporters on here that actually support the team and support MON? Last nights performance was far from inspiring but we got a point from a team that is much, much better than us. Their team took a while to build and look where they are now.
We can't spend big money and big wages the only team that are doing that are QPR. We have to obviously be patient and get the right players.

Chill out and support your club.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Your argument would find more support if there were signs that, whatever the results, the team was actually improving, and the football we play was getting better. But it is not. Even if we were in the top half many fans would not be satisfied with the dismal, restricted, defensive approach O'Neill has brought to the team. The results have not been very impressive, but the way we have played has been even less impressive. Personally, having seen O'Neill's conception of the beautiful game, I cannot believe we could be worse off without him- he reminds me of Alan Brown's second spell here, when we played our worst football of the 20th century. O'Neill is setting new lows for the 21st.

Agree2 Disagree2

Behave - we were heading for the Champioship when MON took over ....very short memory.

Agree3 Disagree3

When MON has his own team he will rise or fall by that team . mind he should have cleared the deadwood out last summer !

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2013 16:32:31
O'Neill twiddled and fiddled in summer while good players moved all around us. He is doing the same again, while Redknapp and Pardew have totally refashioned their squads. No wonder there is no creativity in the team, it just mirrors the manager's lack of imagination. Dreadful that in a time when we have had stable and supportive ownership and good support from the fans we have had such a limited, negative and uninspiring leadership both on and off the field. O'Neill' has the team playing less football than any manager since Howard bloody Wilkinson- and that takes some doing!

Believable2 Unbelievable2

30 Jan 2013 16:45:27
The fans who booed Graham should be ashamed of themselves I was embarrassed to be a Sunderland supporter when that happened ..narrow minds !

Believable8 Unbelievable2

I might be wrong here...but might MON be using the danny graham thing as a distraction so he can sneak other signings in

Agree2 Disagree4

Those fans who booed should be banned . .did they boo Bramble ?

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Jan 2013 13:10:03
Another ruled out. Zarate joining Dynamo Kiev.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

And no doubt if Graham does kick us into touch as well because of the persons that booed him last night it will be all MON's fault if we don't manage to get another striker in before the deadline. I hope for the sake of the club that he really has got more irons in the fire.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mon was never interested in him, he ruled that one out the other day when he said that!

O'neil's tactics and the way his teams perform make Bruce look like a genius. AJ? Absolute pants, why do you think no other premier club wanted him? A big wages drain like Brown and O'shea. 1 shot on target in 90 mins AT HOME tells everyone that Mon is a has been boring manager.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

It was Bruce that brought in Brown and O'Shea .

Agree1 Disagree0

Well at least Bruce plays 4-4-2 MONS football is BORING !

Agree1 Disagree4

Either ye a mag gloating which is acceptable or a sunderland fan who is pathetic

Agree4 Disagree2

Actually Liverpool were desperate for him but we beat them to it lm86

Agree2 Disagree1

I would rather draw 0-0 than lose 4-3. It's amazing how many fans come on here to complain after a poor performance rather than coming on here to praise after a good performance

Agree2 Disagree1

AJ did ok, what your so bitter about we got a point off a good side, can't win them all and under bruce we would of lost that, now keep your negative twisting to yourself!

Disgraceful performance by the team.
Disgraceful performance by the fans booing Graham.
What a club.

Jeez.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Happens to all clubs only got to look at the mags a couple of weeks ago booing fans off against reading and now after last nights results are heading for a top 10 finnish.

Swansea have only lost 4 games away from home in the league- 2 of them defeats were against teams in the top four. We all saw how they stopped Chelsea from playing with all the creative talent they have. A point is a good result against a very strong team.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

1 shot on target AT HOME in 90 mins shows what Mon's tactics are all about!

Agree2 Disagree1

But not even one shot on goal from open play is not acceptable for a team who are playing in front of a big (money spending) home crowd. They should be handing the fans their money back. The reason we need defenders so badly is our midfield is not creative or strong enough which means we are always under pressure.
Steve

Agree3 Disagree1

Never mind the excuses- if we can't beat Swansea at home- and I might add if we are losing games to the likes of Aston Villa and Bolton and Middlesboro and can't beat QPR either, then neither the team nor the manager can escape responsibility. We are not good enough off the pitch, which is why we are not good enough on the pitch. O'Neill has had massive support on this site despite the pathetic progress the team has made under his management- every point is greeted as new dawn and people seem ready to forget that he has regularly put out teams whose performances have been so bad they are embarrassing. Time to accept the obvious; he is no bloody good. Maybe there was a time when he could do it, but all the evidence is that here and now he can't do it any longer. He is completely clueless, and the sooner we get rid of him the better.

Agree1 Disagree5

Clueless MON? I'd like you to be our manager and you will get us relegated, least you forget it is still mainly bruces team there apart from Fletcher, Mangane, N'diaye and Johnson.

Agree1 Disagree1

Plus cuellar saha mcfadden all past it no tactical knowledge useless without robertson no improvementmon out in 12 months says it all

Agree1 Disagree0

And who would you suggest replace him? Lm86

Agree0 Disagree0

The test will be against Reading I just hope we will and should beat them !

I hope MON has a plan up his sleeve as watching that utter disgrace of a team last night was an embarrassment, Swansea was far the better team and deserved all 3 points. Aye we had injuries but if you asked me two days ago who was in the Swansea team I could name a couple but that's about it. The midfield was too negative and looked scared of the Swansea players. And I don't even want to mention the shot count. It's in the press that Aiden Mcgeady is a target and would be a welcome addition to the team. A lot of Fans say we already have players such as AJ in these position but it did not show last night. Stuart downing would also do a very good job for the team as it was pretty apparent last night the fletcher was not getting the service a player of this calibre deserves. Rant over.

along with the daft lads from the toon on here. who actually expected a classic game last night against a side who are fast becoming a top six sides and before you say anything not many sides will go to arsenal and chelsea not conceded (solid at the back) and score 2 goals this season (michu buy of the season). we are in the process of improving a side that mon inherited from sb which in a lot of fans eyes is taking to long as I keep reading on here we are badly in need of a new rb fair enough if we can get someone in like rose this will only help aj game who at the moment is lacking someone to link up with so lay off the lad as the old saying goes cream always come to the top. mon is a good manager who will turn our club around but don't expect miracles it will take time and patience. so hopefully with a couple of good signings today or tomorrow we will continue on an upward curve and if we do sign danny graham then I think the genuine sunderland fans will get behind the lad and hopefully he can do what a lot of people on here said fletcher wouldn't do and score goals. so if you want the club heading in the right direction get behind mon and the signings he makes irrespective of who they support and where they come from.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Yes but if we are to be or become a big club we should be burying these teams paticually at home!..Swansea are a good side but they are not Arsenal or Manchester United

Agree0 Disagree0

No they beat arsenal at the emirates

Think MON is missing John Robertson (as Clough missed Taylor). After leaving the door open for more than one year, O'Neill needs appoint an assistant.
