Poyet wants a box to box midfielder

Poyet has said that he wants a 23 man squad with 3 keepers, 7 defenders, 6 centre mids, 4 wingers and 3 strikers.
The keepers are covered with Mannone and Pantilimon with Pickford being recalled if he's needed.
Our defence is currently Jones, Brown, Oshea and Van Aanholt. So Gus wants a solid CB, smeone who can play as either fullback and a player who can play at FB or CB. Also, I think that the game against Nacional gives us a big clue as to who Poyet wants to keep. And Roberge was part of that team whereas Diakite wasn't so he may be used as a 4th choice CB.
Our definite CMs are Cattermole, Bridcutt, Larsson and Gomez. So 2CMs are missing. If you go back to the Nacional match, both NDiaye and Ba featured, so Poyet might see these 2 as the players to fill these gaps so I wouldn't be too surprised if we don't sign any more CMs. Due to Cabral not featuring in the game, I don't think he is in Poyet's plans.
Onto wingers, Gus wants 2 for either side including one that can also play as a striker. So we currently have Johnson and Giaccherini (1 right and 1 left winger). We also have Mavrias-mainly a right winger-who was another who played against Nacional. Therefore Poyet is probably looking to sign just one left winger who can also play up front. This is why he is wanting Borini so badly as he knows he can play in both positions and do a good job in both.
Finally, it's the strikers. This is very simple as Poyet has said that he is keeping Fletcher, Altidore and Wickham and is selling Graham.
So we can expect us to sign up to another 4 or 5 players-a RB/LB, a RB/CB, a CB, maybe a CM and a LW/CF.

so now we are not after Atsu or Canavada, spelling may be wrong, nothing came off about Rodwell rumour, who are we actually close to signing. I would love to know, its embarrasing on ssn when the transfer board comes up, we spent around 1.5 million on one player, almost as embarrasing as NUFC when they spent nothing one window. Please Gus give us something to smile about soon, even if its a new tea lady we sign.

I think the fourth signing will be Rodwell unless he is another former England hopeful who is happy to pick up money playing Carling Cup football this season. There is no ambition with some of these players and money talks. Get rid of the agents would be a good place to start. Thanks for putting me right on SAUCE JCFulwell. Just a lucky guess re your earlier prediction but you have plenty of others that did not materialise.
