Januzaj is in talks for a season long loan but so is M'Villa And Fer for loan deals. Ed I thought your only allowed 2 loan deals.

{Ed024's Note - Your only allowed 2 domestic loans. As Mvila is coming from Rubin Kazan, he wouldn't effect the Fer and Januzaj deals.}

Apparently we signed 4 young Spanish talents that out scouts have found they are 11 and 13 so it's nothing for the short term hopefully they turn out decent but with our scouting who knows. Thought I would let you know.

I read all the posts on here, so I'm sure I'll be alone on this, but I don't have a problem with Congerton. Last season it was clear to see who was his signings and was Poyets. Congerton brought in Rodwell who hasn't set the world on fire, but he's been better than Scocco, Buckley, and Bridcutt. Then he got Toronto to give up Defoe for Altidore (that was still amazes me). Then he helped talk Advocaat into staying. Then he made a profit on a "striker" that has scored very few goals. I don't necessarily agree with the continental set-up but in my opinion the business has been pretty good. If he can secure Januzaj on loan I think the man has definitely earned some credit. Just my opinion, though.

SAFCintheUSA"business has been pretty good",what business? is what I want to know.Apart from Germain Lens we are no stronger than the team that scored the lowest number of goals other than Burnley last season.Goals against shocking also,about 4 teams conceded more.After all the false promises we kick off in 3 days time and from the first kick I just know every team we play will dominate us from start to finish because we won't buy quality,and the club seem happy to kid us along.Leroy Fer was not the answer,and nor is any of our current midfielders they are the worst in the prem,even if they are crowd favourites,if we don't get a couple of players who can play football then its another year of misery for Cats fans.3 days to go,have our club done the best they could,I don't think so,money is of course more important than the fans.

{Ed024's Note - I agree that Lens looks good, but I also think Kaboul will be a good addition to the squad. For me we need a decent forward - we cant rely on Graham or Fletcher to deliver. I'd love to see Januzaj at the SOL but now the word is out he may be available I can see him going elsewhere.}

What I mean is that up to this point I think the business, although sparse, has been decent. There's still 3 weeks to go and we knew we were saving business for the end of the window. And a big part of that business is a striker. I'm not saying it's complete, just that what has been done I think has been in the right direction.

I knew I'd hear it for that post.

i don't think we will sign another forward unless graham or fletcher or even both go dick likes his midfield players who can score also I thought a lot of people were wanting watmore to be given a chance also mandron has been scoring in pre season for under 21s so unless we don't hit the ground running I don't think a forward will be dicks priority

SAFCintheUSA,your opinion is as much valued as the next persons.I have been a Sunderland supporter for so long I have become pretty negative.What I meant was that when Dick agreed to manage us for another season most of us thought that the penny had finally dropped with the club that quality must be brought in.At present we have a midfield that only know how to pass sideways and back,its been like that for years,forwards starved of any service at all.Lens will I am sure be a big plus for us,M`vila is virtually unknown to our fans and Giacc may be a revelation now he seems injury free,but where is this quality that we all agree we need,have the club kidded us along again,I hope not.

Well Bridcutt has retained the number 4 shirt so does that mean he's in Dicks plans? we need more creativity and a proven striker otherwise we are going to struggle! hopefully Dick will sort it!

Bob,Sunderland and Bridcutt should not be in the same sentence,I am sure you agree.I do not understand how our club messes about on the cheap when for goodness sake we have bigger crowds than Chelsea and are on a par with Liverpool,would either of these clubs sign him,of course not, and their fans would demand better.So why do our club expect our fans to pay to see second rate players.The big question is will Dick sort it.or will it be another season of 6 or 7 wins and humility as usual.

Leroy Fer and M'villa are likely to sign and I think Advocaat will get the best out of both of them and Kaboul will be a solid signing if he's fit and Lens looks great so far with his pace ability and an eye for a goal. Now we need a striker and a creative midfielder. We need quality so why not have a good for Chicarito (Hernandez) its unlikely but it's ambition I would have went for rickie lambert as back up but he went to west brom as for a creative midfielder I would go for Januzaj on loan if we can get him.

Let's hope the fans ambition is the same as MR. Congerton's ambition

a no we have had our differences with the guy but if we get the signings over the line coupled with the ones we have got then so plaudits have to go to Mr congerton! this is one of the most promising windows I have seen in a long time.

Really disappointed about the Fer news; I'd been hoping we'd have a dart after him all summer and it seemed to be all falling into place nicely . I was thinking 4-2-3-1 with Cattermole and M'Vila holding, Johnson right, Lens left with one of Rodwell, Fer or Giaccerini in the middle then one of Defoe, Fletcher or Januzaj up top . seen worse sides in the Premiership?
