Well Bruce is doing the Roy Keane thing. Buying loads of average and crap has beens to flood the squad and make it look big. What happens when we do F**k all again this season and Ellis decides he has to go? We will be stuck with 30 odd year olds on 5 yr deals, championship standard players on good money, remember we STILL have some of Keanes signings here that no-one would take off us. I would rather have 3 quality signings than 10 just to boost the squad size.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

You have got to be an sgb coming out with this cr@p. signed nobody on a five year deal. oshea class brown better than anyone weve got larsson gardner vaughan half of prem wanted so get a grip and think before you speak prat

Agree4 Disagree2

I wouldn't go as far as saying O'Shea is class, lol.. Decent maybe.

Agree1 Disagree5

You must be a geordie you numoty sgb i know gardner not a bad player and so is larson but no one confirmed they had bid for any of them at all.larson spoke to the sum in jan but never came off as agent ashley wouldnt pay his wages as if he did he would be a mag..

Agree3 Disagree1

Sorry but I'm a mackem and I agree, we have bought too many average players and its gonna take a long time for them to gel Gutted were playing nufc so soon in the season Its time to start worrying I think and it pains me to say but europe is a non started Maybe finish 9th at best we just don't have the quality

Agree2 Disagree5

Doubts are creeping in ha Squeeky bum time now lads No matter what happens at NUFC we always confident of a result against you lot But now your over rated and championship players are starting to worry you Be afraid be afraid

Agree0 Disagree3

Yes i agree dont matter how good our players or there players form goes out the window on derby day.think we should of bought 3 or 4 good players in larson is ok gardner is aswell not sure about the rest

Agree0 Disagree1

I'm speaking in a totally neutral way here.. but do people not see how hypocritical is is for either of us to condemn our rivals teams as having "Championship players"?

Sunderland have signed a prostpect from the Championship for 8m, and 3 players who were relegated there this season. They also have a number of deadbeats who are championship level.

We, whilst we haven't signed any Championship players this season, have players who we bought from down there like Best [who can cut it up here imo], Perch etc...

Get over this "lol u hav championship players" crap. Its the same on both sides.

Agree1 Disagree1

Look we'll either win or we wont the world wont stop either way. at the end of the season we'll still finnish above the mags still think we will beat them though

Agree3 Disagree0

The "championship" players sunderland have bought did excellent in their prem team last season,so can cut it in the EPL, and i think the mags should worry bout their own team as Coloccini been offered deal to sign elsewhere, D simpson wont sign new contract AND even Pardew is in the paper saying "the glory days are over at newcastle, we just cannot compete no more" so newcastle are looking just to consolodate in the prem WHILST Niall Quinn is looking for better things. FTM

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah.. and some of our "Championship players" did too. Best scored 6 in the 10 games he played before injury.

Nolan scored 12 goals.

Taylor was solid and scored like 3 in 3 at the end of the season when he was fit again.

The glory days at Newcastle being over doesn't mean we aim to just survive man, it means we can't compete with the top 4 or 6 because of the money. We are aiming for a top half finish, that would be good enough for me.

But you lot seem to think you can finish 6th, 5th or even 4th as some crazy is saying on here. Which will never happen, 6th is the best you could ever hope for, and it won't be this season.

Looks like Sunderland are becoming the deluded ones in the north east, eh?

Agree1 Disagree2

Aherm didnt ba get relegated with west ham?

Agree2 Disagree1

Look mate i,m a makem and have been 40 years now and pardew said he can not compete with the big boys well i,m sick of most of you on here beleaving we are a big club and news shock WE CAN NOT COMPETE WITH THE BIG BOYS EITHER FACT..bent left we could not stop him and could not pay nzogbia,s wages as to high so how are we bigger than newcastle there was wigan between us..we are signing a few good players they not world beaters and never will be..and can not name one player we where looking at who any of the top 3 sighned..so to be honest our aim would be top 10 finish and better still 6 points from newcastle but thats it you can all say yes we going to spend 50 million but we aint and dont have it..the 30 million we have spent top teams are spending that on 1 player now all you get back to reality..ftm i say

Agree3 Disagree0

The big boys cant sustain their debts for much longer, and with new rules coming in shortly things are about to change.
Already talk of big six. Things are going to open up shortly and when they do I hope Sunderland will be there competing.
MA might be doing the right thing keeping them out of debt.
It certainly seems that Quinn has got a lot of sense and we are probably doing the same thing in balancing the books.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree mate i,m a mag and even though i want big signings it aint going to happen ashley has the money as does the club its just he,s getting the books right same as quinn is no mega money signings you all wanted he has done the same i mean look at liverpool would you of been happy spending the 100 million on who they have NOPE

Has anybody ever actually seen a mackem in Milan?? Just asking.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Never likely to either, No cheesey chips over there.

Agree3 Disagree1

You'll never ever see a sgb there ever again, and as for a swipe at our fans, everyone who gets interviewed on television outside sid james park has a combined IQ of 1.

Agree2 Disagree1

So thats 1 point more than you mackems..
come in agent bruce your job is done, signing 9 players is madness.

Agree0 Disagree2

Signing 9 players is what the mags can never achieve as nobody wants to go there

Agree1 Disagree0

If anyone is a plant, then it is M.A. YOU PLANK.
At least SB is doing his best to see Sunderland progress. MA is doing his best to depress.

Agree2 Disagree0

9 or 10 extra players. does that not seem to be getting the squad ready and big enough to PLAY 2 GAMES A WEEK, 1 ON SATURDAY AND 1 IN EUROPE (maybe even next season??) SGB

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah could could say it is, but only your first team would be good enough, you proved that last season.

What would you do? Play your best team in Europe and leave the ones who lost 10 out of 12 to handle the league games and get relegated? You might have more depth in numbers, but you don't have it in quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

And this is why we have better cover this year and better players. last year as you say our 1st team was the ones who had us up in 6th for ages but our fringe players were not good enough when we got injuries, now we have better players in with a couple more to come and a couple of the deadwood to be gone. You wish you had it as good as us, money and chairman/manager etc...

Agree0 Disagree0

You also don't have a prolific striker any more. I wasn't comparing you to us, I'm just saying you might have depth, but you don't have quality in depth.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think what you will but I have faith we will do well. 7th would do me

Agree0 Disagree0

You could get 7th, I'm sure. I'm just saying your squad isn't good enough to handle Europe and the League yet. You'd suffer in one of them.
