But all signed players cost less than Henderson price (Liverpool have got a star in the making and 15-20 will be worth it) so hopefully Bent cash to be spent on two more high profile players.

Defoe is really overrated.
He gets the goals that's all that matters not one of newcastles strikers are proven goal scorers so suits me if your a sunderland fan and you arnt happy if we get defoe your either thick or havnt got a clue about strikers and football.
If you think Defoe is top class, then its YOU who knows nothing about football, not me. His scoring record for Spurs is 0.3 goals per game, which is shocking. Plus he is always injured. His career scoring record for league goals is 0.35 per game.
If you want to pay 10 million for that, then be my guest, but that is not a top class, prolific striker who "gets the goals". He is totally overrated because of him being an England international, and his is a classic underachiever. There you go, some facts for you.
1goal in 3games is alot better than newcastle strikers put together. Newcastle would not say no to defoe fact

I'm a Newcastle fan. and I'd say they're both average/decent. Not exactly quality, and they're getting on too. But its depth and they're solid enough. Not sure you lot would be bigging them up so much, or at all if you weren't signing them though.

The Manu U 3 and Vaughn will make the team almost unreconisable from last season, that's not including all the other signings, Having the Man u 3 and of course don't forget our player of the seson, Bardsley, who will play along side them in defence/midfield was also X Man U so hopefully they all know each other and should jel well together. ( a bit like the way Stoke is all x SAFC players but only better) Remember Stoke finished above all the NE teams and had a FA cup final to boot also remember The SAFC team line up that started the season so well last campaign before the injuries? on paper the new look should be even better than that. Remeber also , some of these players are seasoned vetrans used to playing on big stages, they still hae a point to prove and are more than capable.

Bruce turned down the Mag job twice and under 2 different owners he saw the righting on the wall and even the lure of his boyhood team NUFC still couldnt snatch him. He came to SAFC 1st time of asking ( or did he approach us?) either way he made for himself a BETTER career move, with a board who will listern, not just dictate and interfere, give him a good war chest and a sound business plan.
