So would I but can't see that happening, berbatov nope, cisse maybe if O'neill was interested, Cahill no chance, Moses possible, Johnson good chance, Alba can't see that happening, Hangeland good chance, I'd have Holt to start good target man, wonder how long it is before a stupid barcode comes on and calls us deluded and that we have no money blah blah blah

Agree1 Disagree1

I,m a barcode mate and aint going to say deluded but tbh honest berbatov will go abroad he is on a free i think and will be playing champions league adam johnson no chance and victor moses as a £10 million price on him...but we will see very shortly..

Agree0 Disagree0

Cisse was poor when he was here before if you want big target man for all the crosses we can put in then go for jones back from stoke. Yes he was no good as a lone striker just chasing hoofed balls about but he can get on the end of crosses. Also take cuelar and murphy from fulham both on a free

if you had to choose which one of these would you want back at Sunderland this is just a bit of fun banter really
1 Darren Bent
2 Djibril Cisse
3 Kenwyne Jones
4 Steed Malbranque
5 Kevin Phillips

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Phillips all day.

Agree0 Disagree0

Phillips in his prime, then Steed, Bent for goals

Agree0 Disagree0

Even now Phillips (as a sub or bit part player ) could still play a role in the premiership. A really big gamble though.
Jones with the support and coaching that O'Neil could give him (Support and motivation is something I feel Jones needs) again would be a gamble but with his age, less so than Philips and of course Jones has a few more seasons left in him.
I cant see any of this happening, However....... Sunderland were not paid the money for Jones up front but over a number of seasons, In theory there could be a way of getting him back without having to splash out a fee, or much of one? He was a frustrating player to watch at times, Sometimes it looked like he couldnt be arsed.

Agree1 Disagree0

Would you like to have to chase hoofed balls everywhere when youre job is to get on the end of crosses put him on the end of larsson and mccleans crosses and there is your 15-20 goal man

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes I see where you are coming from, Jones did cover some space didn't he!
Yeah I think you have a point about the crosses coming for him from this current SAFC team. On reflection he would be a good option IF he would come back. I know he was frustrated when he was here before because of the lack of decent crosses whether there was anything else going on at the club at the time I dont know? However we now have a a different manager, squad , owner and are more established in the Premiership.
