PDC lost the players and then the fans and if he had stayed in charge, Sunderland would have been down by Christmas. Poyet was a gamble by Short and with 31 games left has had plenty of time to turn things around. He has failed big time. In hindsight, Tony Pullis could have pulled you away from bottom as i'm sure Sunderlands squad is far superior to Palaces and he has pulled them away. My mate, season ticket holder, says ` at least we beat Toon twice and went to wembley` what's that all about? Surely staying in Premier League would be a better season? I for one will miss the Derbies, win or lose, and who knows when they will be back, if of course Sunderland don't survive. Can anyone tell me why Adam Johnson, only creative player and goalscorer in side, is left on the bench? Strange tactics when the lad can change a game, as he has proved recently but to no avail because it is always too late. Good luck in the battle to stay up but I fear Poyets tactics and game plans will see sunderland lose their premier league status.

Fair comment faircomment i'm sure most sunderland fans and city fans will agree a. j is a better player coming off the bench for some reason he can't do it for 90mins. as for being relegated by xmas under pdc I think you might be right on that one. not down to his managerial skills but man management he lost the dressing room and what an easy way to get your manager to get sacked don't perform on the field if i'm right on my theory then those early season games could be the ones that have us in the position we are in now and if so shame on those players. also I think you could be spot on about pullis he might have been the one to keep us up who knows anyway if we go down I think it will be a while before we have a derby mate

Right then. What a shocking season it's been. The cup run should have given us a well needed kick up the backside before the end of the season, but we couldn't even do that. Poyet's decision to play Altidore at ANY point throughout this season is beyond me. Thought he'd be a real competitor in this league and would finally prove his worth but in all honesty I realised how awful he was when he failed to even score against Kidderminster. No heart from the rest of the team, lack luster performances across the board. Even with 7 games left, I'm writing us off. 2 games in hand is not enough to even get out of the bottom three. and that's if we win both, and with a trip to the Etihad coming along with Saturday's Everton game, we are surely not picking up more than a point.

So let's think. Is Poyet going to take responsibilty of this team's utter shocking performances this season? Or is this all PDC's fault in their mind?
In my opinion Poyet has had enough time to change our fortunes and has NOT delivered.

In terms of players.
Larsson's long gone after no new contract has been signed or even mentioned. Not sure what the Colback situation is as I haven't followed for a while? Ed can you update me on that?
Altidore. Sell him for some magic beans. (or even beans in a tin)
Fletcher. Don't see him moving on because of injury so he'll probably stick around.
Wickham. Can FINALLY play for us at his level of Championship football where he scores goals for fun, yet we need a whole new midfield to sort it out.
The club has handled player contracts and just players in general very poorly over the last few years.
Mangane. where even is he?
Diakite. I couldn't care less
N'Diaye. why he was loaned is beyond me
Cabral. where is he?

To finish, this team has been dreadful in the league this season. To go down with a fight from now on would be the best thing to see. But after Poyet said "We need a miracle to stay up" I don't see it happening. Who knows how long it'll take for us to return to the Premier League, but first we need to sort this side out. Otherwise, we're ending up in all sorts of mess before we know it.

But as always. Haway The Lads.

{Ed024's Note - Colback yet to sign a new contract which tells me he wont, even if we get a miracle. Expect to see him at Everton next season}
