I know Sundland have signed 9 players, but Where's the quality. I don't see any real improvement on last season, Bent and henderson are gone, both real talent, going backwards. Come on Brucie Get some proper players or there'll be a stuffing from the Geordies.

Cum on Mackems

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Wot you on about. this squad is miles stronger than last season

Agree0 Disagree0

They may not be world beaters but at least you have some depth now. You're excuse for losing 10 games out of your last 12 was having so many injuries. This should prevent that from happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2011 21:15:26
Well we have bought a load of rubbish two has beens in brown and o'shea ha newcastle fans shud be jealous ha HAAHA GET A GRIP we go got quality , not quantity ha

Believable0 Unbelievable1

With quantity we would have finished 15 t 20 points in front of the sgbs

Agree0 Disagree0

Its like Roy Keane all over again, just buy anyone to get big squad AND we are still stuck with some of his numpties. We have brought in a future quality player, Wickham, the rest? Has beens and average at best. I for one am not excited Bruce

Agree0 Disagree0

But you didn't Still not something to brag about that you beat a newly promoted side by one point

WARNING: mike ashley billionaire has shares in numerous businesses owns a football club that he has become bored with, as he knows he has taken them as far as he can. also knows that he is not going to run the club at a loss as the sale would then come non viable so no big signings will be made as he needs to keep the wage bill down. he also knows that no matter where they finish in the league he will still have a full house as the fans are still living in the days of kk and kd so no reason to take a gamble on players. he will scour the lower leagues and small foreign clubs looking for young talent who he hopes will show improvement and sell them on at a profit with the money going into his retail business and not the club. this man is one very greedy individual so beware if he tries to buy into your club after the sale of newcastle, try and do everything you can to stop him as this could seriously damage your clubs improvement.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

King asley. f@cKs the mags right up lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that rick astley or mike ashley you refer too?

Agree0 Disagree0

Asley? Something really wrong in this post The man has built a club back up financially and got the club running as a profit making viable business that can stand on its own feet yet still he is deemed a failure If being a successful business man worth over 800 million is failure the i hope i can be a failure too. He not the greatest where his football knowledge comes into it but no one can deny the man can run a business and make money

Agree0 Disagree0

There was never a King Asley in this country you retard. Check your history.

im an arsenal fan but wow you guys are going to have a great season 9 signings in 11 days and they are quite good looks like europe(not CL) is now in your reach oh and are you guys getting defoe because it means we don't which is good {Ed016's Note - It look unlikely that we will get him becasuse steve bruce said no bids have been made and no made will be made so we cant put you out of your misery}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm a sunderland fan posing as an Arsenal, I think Sunderland have a really good chance of winning the league with all of the amazing players you have signed. . lol do me a favour, I'm an Chelsea fan and your team is poor at best. . who have you signed again? oh yeah 2 Brum city jumpers and a tall lad? lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember, remember the result in November. . Chelsea 0 Sunderland 3

Agree0 Disagree0

As you keep saying to the Newcastle fans. The league table doesn't lie, stop living in the past that result doesn't matter, and Chelsea didn't show up.

why are we signing all the man united rejects? and all the old players, henderson went for 20mil bent 35mil both quality players and we get a young unproven teen for 10mil and all the players ready for hanging boots up, shame bruce won't buy any talent that's proven and at there peak can see us struggling next season but rumours have it we're after a world class midfielder and a previous golden boot sriker, maybe roy keane and kevin phillips both a load of toss {Ed016's Note - We sold Darren Bent for £24 million not £35 million and to be fair I dont think us sunderland fans got to see much of this "quality" Jordan Henderson has got}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Stop talking crap, We need a proven goalscorer and a left winger, have faith in Bruce and Quinn they know what they doing. you must be the only sunderland fan to not be happy so far with our signings, Bent wanted to go for more money. 20m for Henderson was a bargain and he was poor for a fair bit of last season. so stop your twisting and get behind Bruce and SAFC

Agree0 Disagree0

You need prayers lads. Another hameering on the cards on the 2nd game of the season. . boo hoo hoo

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny when geordie's get the reality check they deserve, relegation for the scum this season. SGBS

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny, you said the same last season. Jackass.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2011 15:22:00
we NEED a striker, a proven goalscorer why not go in fo defoe bruce, he is just what we need

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I thought wickham was the nex alan shearer.

Agree0 Disagree0

You need a proven goalscorer and you want Defoe? Makes sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wickham next Alan Shearer?? You DELUDED fool, never be good enough to lace shearers boots no matter how long he plays for, and im speaking as an england fan not newcastle. Gooners ok

Agree0 Disagree0

He only a lad. . . . . . . . .give him tym to mature. just cos he said he not going to the gooners don't dis the lad. ps i bet the emirate airlines r busy flying your players out to sign for other clubs lol.

ellis short has an estimated fortune of 1 billion plus around the same as mike ashley before he took over at newcastle due to the current economic climate ashley has dropped to 750 million, as his fortune is tied up in deals where as short is retired but has still kept his title as president of loan star loans the biggets loan company in the world so his money is in the bank. As sir alan sugar said recently ye can have ye fortune wrapped up in business deals and companies but if we have a big crash like we did before its only worth the paper ye can wipe ye a*** with. people like sugar and short as sugar said i can go to the bank tomorrow and withdraw 100 million pounds something people like sugar and short can do but ashley cant

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Thats wrong ashley sold 90% of sports direct shares after floating the company and making another 750 million just after his fortune went down to about 750 million so he was a billionaire again.then he was kept as a director with 10% shares and sports direct mysteriously started to go down hill and ashley bought it back for nearly 200 million and for the last year its been doing real well and is worth nearly 600 million again and he went out and had big part in america blowing 200k on champagne. .ashley is a f****** p**** and we all know it but he knows how to make money shame he won't give it to us for players. .unhappy mag

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley pocketed £929 million(mind bending)in one day when he floated sports direct.
thats in his bank.
dont know how much now tho but sports direct are doing really well.

have yous still got 80% wage bill

Agree0 Disagree0

Yer right mate i knew ashley done well but was clever to stop on start running in down then re buying shares and now owns it again ans pocketed the big sum in one day think it stands him roughly about 250 million and again its worth 800 million as it made 1.47 billion lasy year alone that's why he blocked the 20 million blacks help and started to buy out blacks. the mans a genius just don't know why he won't spend on the maggs. .he obviously thought when he bought us it was cheap until the loan had to be repaid for the stadium which cost 130 million .

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashleys money is tied up in deals he has his fingers in that many pies that if the stock market crashes he will end up skint the money he has made is put back into other business around the world on the other hand if he sold all his business interests he would be worth 2.5 bill but as shown this week would rather pump 7 mill into 2 clothes retails than screwcastle who seem as though they are an hobby for him

Agree0 Disagree0

If you where a billionaire would you put money in football club where you never get a return or spend 20, 30, 40 million and make a 100 million any body with half a brain(makems ruled out) would make money not spend it. .

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think he would be skint are you serious.

Agree0 Disagree0

If the stock market crashes like in 1987and you got ye money in the wrong companies ye end up with 0 every so often it happens richer men than ashley have gone to the wall

Agree0 Disagree0

Every penny he owns is not on stock is it. .nufc paid for and we actually made 16 million profit without carrol money (check the times) thens there karrimoor, slazenger, dunlop, 15% addidas, and otheres sports direct and blacks. so yes i know what your saying about wall st 1987 but they are all investment bankers who put every penny they own in shares just like the bank firm bearings who went pop.

Agree0 Disagree0

Which is why MA money is tied up in his own business cos that way he only has to rely on himself If you check the times rich list he is on thier as being worth over 1.4 billion with estimated cash wealth of 650 million so who was it who said all his money tied up in business?

if we don't want n'zogbia or defoe does this mean we have other, maybe better, players in mind? don't know about you though but i wouldn't mind those two any day of the week FTM

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think Bruce and Quinn have the players in mind, but think they are gonna keep them hush hush as they gonna be big signings who cost over 10m each

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2011 12:34:22
glad to see sunderland come out with statement on the defoe and nzogbia rumours finally putting to bed the stories appearing on here and the media. both defoe and nzogbia agents spoke to and wages were a put off straight away also like gibson who wanted double his wages he received from man utd the club are finally seeing sense and like a lot of other clubs won't be held to ransom by players, agents and fat wage cheques.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Bet N'zogbia wanted £65,000 and Defoe about £90,000 a week. Not worth that, Villa are welcome to them

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who would even consider paying Defoe 90k per week is a moron. There are way better strikers out there for the price yous would have paid for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2011 11:26:12
Not Going for Defoe or N'zogbia
Shame or is it a good bit of press use (playing Harry at his own game) till we get rid of a few and Harry gets desperate ??

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Brucey has them all fooled ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Brucie even has himself fooled man, he doesn't have a clue what is going on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shut up, bet you a sad geordie. stop talking s***e

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2011 10:27:09
We are not bidding for Defoe or N'zogbia (sky sports news)

Dames :(

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Yeah right trust me there coming to sunderland we have the money get in

Agree0 Disagree0

Bruce is just mixing the press up a bit

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed do you think we are going to spend big or are we just spending the henderson money we got as that's what i think we are doing. i would like to think a big named player will come just think short is keep the purse strings shut for big transfers. {Ed008's Note - I expect a couple more players to come in another striker,a winger, maybe another defender.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair look at Brown and O'shea, they weren't supposed to be coming and then we signed them both on the same day. would be good if we get them but think Bruce and Quinn have the players in mind

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2011 10:08:19
Before we get excited, lets look at whats been signed. Brown + O Shea, both had their day on subs bench for 13 yrs each and on their last big pay day. Larsson + Gardner, average at best and helped Birmingham to relegation. Vaughn, helped Blackpool to relegation. Westwood and Wickham, both unproven championship players. Ji Dong Won, probs take 3 yrs to settle.
Marvoux, Cabaye, French players very rarely settle and take ages to get to grips with pace of premier league, Ba, injury prone and serial medical failure, Aheid, another frenchman aged 18 that will probs be away home in 12 mths.
A season of struggle for both sides again is forecast, mid table again for both if they are lucky. If its true that Brown and O Shea are on 58 grand a week then Bruce and Quinn want kicked out the club, only ONE player has left Man u and done owt, Phil Neville at everton so these old men will badly let everyone down.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

You must be a newcastle fan coz no sunderland fan is that negative. get a grip

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't call midtable a season of struggle for either team. .

Agree0 Disagree0

I support North East football but think both big guns will struggle. Mid table is a struggle for 2 clubs that have spent millions and should have been pushing for european places and not mid table. Problem? They have both spent money on has beens and nobodies.FACT

Agree0 Disagree0

Phil Neville has had an excellent season yer prat He has oganised a dispirited team and probably with his influence as captain kept up a team which behind the scene is in turmoil, but make not as much as recent years and future times at newcattle un-united. . . Wasnt it Noel Gallagher who said laughing at fat geordies and watching them cry should be made a National sport Take your shirt off at yer matches and get pissed up shouting for Ash to sell the club again this season mate, that's your future son, at least make yer posts believable , yer nar nowt about football son. typical sgb

Agree0 Disagree0

They wernt mid table, we where, they where bottom half cannon fodder ha

Agree0 Disagree0

What? Spent millions? Newcastle have barely spent since we got relegated, Sunderland may have spent a lot and got nowhere, but not us.

Agree0 Disagree0

He said "only one player has left Man U and done owt". That means hes done well, you pleb. Can you not read?

Agree0 Disagree0

Phil neville was never a bench warmer at manu you muppet them 2 plums where bench warmers both have played about 40 games between then in 2 seasons

Agree0 Disagree0

He was a bit of a bench warmer. But the post doesn't actually say that anyway so its irrelevant.

As for only one player ever leaving Man U and doing something, are you serious?

Agree0 Disagree0

Four Man U players who have gone on and been successfull elsewhere.Beckham, Rossi, Ronald and Pique.
Poor Danny Simpson at Newcastle must wish that he had never bothered joining them now. After all who wants to play for a club where even its own customers don't rate him.

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you talking about? Danny Simpson has been good for us. Mackem clown.

Agree0 Disagree0

Read ye own pages the sgbs hope he is on his way out

Agree0 Disagree0

No he aint

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty stupid people then. If we sell him we have Ryan Taylor and nobody else.

Agree0 Disagree0

. . . . .but you all say at SJP that Man U never sell a good player. There has been dozens of Newcastle "customers" on various websites and phone-ins saying it.Even one of your own John Anderson said it on Total Sport last Monday. Now I will spell it out in big latters for you Geordie fools."MANCHESTER UNITED NEVER SELL A GOOD PLAYER" Remind me again who you signed Danny Simpson from ? Yep Manchester United.Obviously the NUFC "customers" don't rate him. After all it was you lot that said it.

ive seen rumours that we need a left back, isn't that where bardsley will play, maybe i am wrong and brown and o shea are playing in the middle but i thought brown was playing on the right so that meant bardo would play left.

anyways, a striker is needed. defoe, pogrybenyak, crouch, pav, adebayor and cisse are all options.

the way the team is going it looks like sessegnon, larsson, gardner or vaughan arnt going to start. that is only if the nzogbia rumours are true.

to be honest it looks like a season of unhappy players that can't get first team that was promised to them

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Jul 2011 00:40:56
goon army in £16m move for bent??? they carnt even afford players that cost more than £1.6m

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I think there is something in this rumour, Bent wanted to join them before we signed him from spurs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Numpty makem that's why we bid 16 million for modric had talks with him and he chose spurs under ashley smb. .ha ha and ssn just confirmed that yous have told them you are not buying nzogbia or defoe that's a FACT you smb ha hha hahha hhhah

Agree0 Disagree0

16m you don't have 16m, a couple more french school boys and you will be set for relegation you SGB. whats so funny so what we don't want N'zogbia or Defoe at least we can spend money. oh did i hit a nerve?ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Are these the same sources that said that we were going to get pipped for brown and oshea from stoke and everton vaughan from wba larsson from arsenal gardner from screwcastle wickham from spurs and liverpool won from ajax westwood from leeds where they all at hopefully nzogbia and defoe to follow but who knows these could be the media whipping up interest so that people buy papers and sign upto sky what will be will be

Agree0 Disagree0

French schoolboys? You mean that french 18 yr old, highly regarded in france, for FREE. Well then what about that Farmers school boy from Ipswich who cost 8 million down payment who is actually younger than the french kid? Did you forget about him Muckem? Eh? Come on Muckem, you not got an answer? SMB SMB

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt think newcastle would sink that low going for him ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

How did newcastle hear about this young 18 yr old french lad the one everyone in france is raving about not. he has never played in the french football league comes from a s**te team like lens (and only their b team) who ye can compare to a team like coventry. no wonder ye got him for free but as agent ashley says his wages and agents fees come from ye carroll money so not free signing

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok then name the big spending money you, s smb, s have spent as far as i can see you spent nothing until henderson money came in that's all you have i know it bruce knows it and quinny knows it now stop talking s**te your just like us a average team but you, s think your one of the top. smb, s
