Jack Colback a big mistake letting him go
At times last season our best player

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not really much we can do if he won't accept a new contract, big mistake on his part, not ours.

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably feels he's getting his nose pushed out, all of these signings, give the lad a decent contract after his efforts last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

He won't get us into europa so cya later jack

Agree0 Disagree0

Rumour has it that he was not offered a similar contract to those coming in. PDC NOT mad at him and talks still going on. Colback has not asked to leave.

Yyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeye. We have Altidor.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Altidore signed 4year deal. Gerrin!
Giaccherini getting closer. Howay The Lads!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fletch and Altidore - looking good for a 30 goal partnership as a minimum. Fletch would have had 15 last season but for his late season knock, looking at Altidore last season in Holland, 23 in 33 (league) and 31 in 41 (all competitions) suggests 15 in the Prem should be possible.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why us Altidore guaranteed goals? Whenever he has played in a good league (EPL - Hull, La liga - Villareal) he has don't nowt.

Alfonso Alves set the dutch league alight.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was 19 when he was at Hull
He didn't make an appearance at Villareal

Agree0 Disagree0

Skunks like to spout their tripe about us signing nobodies. Well, Cabral and Diakite have won 10 major trophies between them. Haway The Lads!

Agree0 Disagree0

Id be happy Altidore getting 12-15 goals next season!

I think it's clearly been a tough couple of says for us in the transfer market with purchases and now Colback and it's clearly because Sunderland have a identity and a model under the new Sunderland hierarchy which centres around the club making profit. that's just being sensible and smart but what they will also do is weigh up the risks around there new model and financial implications of these risks, therefore I guarantee Ellis Short will make sure Di Canio has a strong squad for the first game because the implications of relegation is huge and our biggest risk. You will see significant activity later on in the month where we may relax our financial control slightly to reduce the major risk of season failure. How do we know - well he didn't just sit back and watch us get relegated last season did he. Went against (quite rightly) every useless football pundit in the country to see it didn't happen by getting rid of a joke of a manager.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree, I think our big signings will happen towards the end of the window. At the moment we're building the squad up with low risk/young (money wise) players, then we will add a few quality players to balance it out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lifting financial control to get experienced players is just not going to happen as Short has tightened the reigns. It is also a question of who wants to join a team among favourites to be relegated and run by a temperamental head coach. Lot of risks bringing in so many players. PDC brought in 42 at Swindon, while 28 left including some he bought. going to be a roller-coaster {Ed024's Note - I would rather be on a roller coaster than on the ghost train.}

We are lucky to be in the premier league this season, stop pi$$ing about and get the club back on track and make the signings that have been identified happen. It will be another nail biting season again if we don't do business early and let the new players bed into the club.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We're Sunderland supporters, it's always a nail biting season lol, in regards to the transfers, we've shored up our defense and are working on the other ones already, it's really early days yet, give them time.

Colback on his way. Refused new contract only 12 months left

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dont mind losing Coleback as long as we sign a quality replacement who is better!. but there's not much happening. another home grown player out the door!

Colback does not want to extend his contract, therefore is available for transfer. Shame, I thought he grafted when a lot coasted last season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

With Colback being an Academy product, he probably wasn't offered much of a pay rise. Good grafter and a good squad player. Personally, I like the kid and would be sorry to see him go. Hopefully we offer him better terms.

Don't blame Mendy, You've got a choice Of Slumberland or Marseille. A professional would choice the later 90% of the time

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Says the skunk that can't compete with any1! Jog on wonga boy back to the circus for u. beansafc

Agree0 Disagree0

And that's how you lot have missed out on al your 'alleged' targets! touche' pony basher! they all went to better clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

He'll be on the bench at marsille he's only 18 aswell we will probably get rose anyway so no skin of my back

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play to the kid! He would also pick Marseille over Wongaland 100% of the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are getting Remy & Sinclair!

You know, a thing called 'quality. '

No one wants to sign for Sunderland, keep raiding the nordic countries and looking in the bargain basements LOL.

Agree0 Disagree0

''Fair play to the kid! He would also pick Marseille over Wongaland 100% of the time. ''

Is that why Ben Arfa went on strike at Marseille to force a move to Newcastle?

We are huge in France.

Agree0 Disagree0

HUGE in your own TINY mind!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah real quality! Sinclair warmed the bench all season, Remy knocked you back, then couldn't bother his arse at qpr! Dubious character too, but he should fit in, maybe Ranger could show him around toon!

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the same remy that turned you down for 20,000 seater stadium at loftus road? all about money if he goes to newcastle he won't care about the club just his wages your the only fools in the prem who want him ha

Agree0 Disagree0

No way will Newcastle pay the wages qpr did its just a front by pardew to keep the fans happy. its a bit like the bent situation don't pay the wages don't get the player. then you have to laugh with some of the offers they reckon they put in 12 t 15 mill for bony he goes to Swansea for 10 then the offer they put in for pea was sure to get him where has he gone oh yes Russia after the Wonga. then they put an offer in for kone oops joe can't add up everton offer 5mill so Newcastle go in with a 4. 75 offer come on lads you all know it, your getting your eyes took out and big mikes coming back for the sockets. keep giving him your money and dream lads that's what all mags are doing

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't Remy due up in court and could possibly get time? {Ed024's Note - Correct bailed until September, could get very messy}

Agree0 Disagree0

Still convinced that some of this is rubbish. Pratdew to come back and say couldn't agree wages etc. Only the Mugs would sign Remy at the moment.
Total desperation.

Amongst many sweeping changes occurring behind the scenes to our club, was a revamp of the club medical department which included the departure of Dr. Glen Rae (club doctor and head of medical dept. ) I guess that his departure (and that of one or more of his colleagues) may go some way to explaining the Altidore delay. Here's hoping!
