MON deserves better than you lot.

Great Manager, and he has worked miracles to keep us out of the bottom 3.

Jeez.

Believable5 Unbelievable12

I suppose there will always be the O'Neill Apologist Faction- or just oafs- who feel that because they proclaimed O'Neill was the messiah in the beginning they should stick with him despite the overwhelming evidence that he is the most clueless manger we have had in years. We saw after the early lift last year that once the players were no longer afraid of being out on their overpaid backsides and began looking to him for some leadership that he no longer has what it takes to manage a football club- he really should not have survived the pathetic performances we saw between February and the season's end. We saw over the summer that apart from one or two pet targets he had no idea how to assemble a team, as good players moved cheaply all around us while he twiddled his thumbs. We saw at the beginning of the campaign that he still had no tactical plans, could not organise the defence, preferred a midfield made up of players who, like he did in his own playing days, generally pass the ball sideways or backwards and rarely further than three yards. We saw in the transfer window that he had no idea how to improve the team, and in desperation signed players, as he did last year, who even he realises are not good enough and does not put on the pitch.
It has been clear for some time that the whole culture of the club needs radical reform. The management is pathetic, the hangers-on around the team who call themselves coaches should have been pensioned off long ago, the players are a poorly organised and unmotivated rabble of has-beens and never-will-bes. Yes, O'Neill needs to go, but this was clear six months ago; now there needs to be a more fundamental clear-out of the overpaid, under-performing and underachieving dummies on and off the field who embarrass the fans on a weekly basis. Mr Short, if you know anything- and I assume you must have some talent for business, you will know that it is rare indeed for those who preside over a period of decline to be able to reverse an organisation's fortunes. O'Neill is now simply a liability, like so many of his personic signings. In fact, if going down is the quickest way to get rid of him and his team of losers, that might be for the best. Having seen the sides he puts out and the way they play, I think a season in the Championship with someone who has an inkling of what football looks like would be preferable to clinging on, if that means another season of watching the players and tactics that have disgraced this great club and so disappointed its fans.

Agree7 Disagree6

He has had 14 month 3 transfer windows spent over 30m and we are still garbage with no plan b looking like relegationso where are these wonders you speak of

Agree6 Disagree4

Fickle Fans.

Give yourself a shake.

MON is a great manager.

Jeez.

Agree4 Disagree9

Wherw is your evidence of brilliance from oniell, 14 months in charge we are still in relegation fight squad still average and we have no tactical knowhow coaches are rubbish no plan b or c and heading down 3 transfer windows and 30,000,000 pound and lil better off graham is useless and johnson is very average without robert mas maxson by his side oniell is like a lost old man

Agree4 Disagree2

Looks like the Head MONK has been contemplating again; what else is there to do in that cold, draughty, candlelit world in which he exists?
Read, no my eyes are shot. Pray, I don't really believe in fairies, self flagellate, canny but I'm worried the other MONKS will think I self harm. I know, I'll sort Sunderlands' problem out.

Martin O'Neill : appointed December 3rd 2011, dismissed by the Head MONK in a mead fuelled rage May 13th 2012. His record W9 D7 L8.

We will leave the messianic prophecies to his kind and those of a black and white persuasion and remind him that no good ever came from changing ones ecclesiastical underpants after just 5 months ; and to suggest that relegation would be better than 'clinging on' to top flight status means his home brew 'problem' may be more serious than first thought.

Agree4 Disagree2

Mag here in peace, O'niell doesn't have a that good win/loss ratio once you take Celtic out of the equation. I worked with a Villa fan and he compared him to Benitez but without the success, he always wanted to spend, if a player fell from favour or was just not what O'niell wanted he sold them at relatively low prices compared to what they came in at, and when he walked he dropped them right in the doodah leaving days before the new season started, If your going to get rid don't hang about, Short needs to look who's available now or at the end of the season, it looks like the fans have turned or are turning against him, this will affect the team, and gates will drop, its not a good situation, I don't envy Sunderland fans at the moment

Agree4 Disagree1

PS
Last 38 league games under Messiah O'Neill:
W8 D14 L16
Points 38 good -13
Cup exits to 2 Championship teams
Money spent £30m.
I must be missing something here that only OAFs can see.

Agree5 Disagree1

Lots of Mags on here. One in particular.
As I posted earlier, I feel Mon would be better thought of if he walks away now.
Cant see him improving things in the future.
Out of all his signings there are only Fletcher and Rose worthy of wearing the stripes.
We need at least 4 defenders, two midfielders and a striker. Fat chance.

office of fair trading need to be informed their is a group of men kicking a football about at the sol that is impersonating a football team and have someone in charge who is conning the fans into thinking he is a manager how much longer can this go on.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Surely this is enough!. the MON lovers cannot justify that performance it was appaling! if it wasnt for Fletchers goals and Mignolets goalkeeping wed be bottom. and the most worrying thing is the lack of skill on view!. I can't belive the performance of Johnsston! is this the same player that played so well for City and England?. it must be the coaching tactics and manager !

Agree3 Disagree1

I can't beleive this manager is keeping Bramble in this team! I wouldn't put him in my local pub team! Nayde poor johnson poor mclean not interested and how does Graham play well for so many teams yet here he doesn't perform? that is down to poor managment!

This is a joke now, I have been absolutely crucified by the die hards in our previous games. Its gone on long enough, nothing is going to change, but some fans won't believe it. How long do give we give this man 2 million Quid a year for nowt. Ellis Short should boot the whole lot of them out and start again. These people are screwing our club for millions week in week out. No exceptions we have more than given them all a superstar lifestyle, for too long now.

Time for Martin to step down and for Sunderland to move on. Have considered whether I am giving knee jerk reaction, and reckon not. I am one of the people who was over the moon to see him arrive and now wish him all the best for his future elsewhere.
If he does stay I can't see any improvement. Only 2 or 3 players giving 100%. Loads of dross still to be gotten rid of and no confidence in his ability to replace them with quality. Fletcher and Rose his only good signings.
Cuellar?
Graeme?
N Daye?
Johnson?
Mangane?
Bridge?
Kiriagos?

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Thats the problem I think the players have lost interest and don't agree with MONS tactics!

Agree4 Disagree0

Where is Mangane? why is it that MON doesn't want to play his loan players. ? a waste of money in wages!

Agree2 Disagree0

Can someone tell me what Nadye has!? for £4 million quid he is a waste of space!. I like Malony of Wigan he has everything in his locker why can't we go for players like that?

Agree3 Disagree1

Totally agree. Can't fault him for constantly asking for the ball. Then when he gets it, he either gets it taken of him or passes it to a oppsition player. BRILLIANT!

Agree2 Disagree0

Oops I missed off Saha. Oh well, can't be blamed for doing that.

Always thought ONeill would be great for us - I don't now! He has to be sacked ASAP - he has no tactical nouse! Saddens me to say it but every Sunderland fan knew we would get beat today and I can now predict we will not beat Norwich next weekend - it's the usual slow painful death for us I'm afraid plus the customary loss to the Mags coming up! Sammy Diglit.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I am sorry to say but I agree. I really wanted O'Neill for years but recent results and decisions he has made have shown he is not the manager he was, Why? is it because he doesn't have John Robertson along side him? I would not be disappointed if he resigned tonight.
Problem then is can we find a suitable interim manager to take us to the end of the season and keep us up? If this happens what about Nigel adkins.

Disallusioned season ticket holder

Agree4 Disagree1

TOTTALY agree!i felt that too but for whatever reason he just hasn't got it anymore. Larsson is wasted in midfield where gardener and Vaughn should be!. no proper full backs when Rose isn't there!. its time for him to go!. we were a shambles today. I could see it coming when he annoucned the team! defeat against Norwhich and hell walk!

Agree5 Disagree1

If we haven't turned up today will we really turn up[ against the mags next month I doubt it as usual we will get beat at very best it will be
1-1 as the score usualy is when we havnt got beat off them

Agree4 Disagree0

Are we playing better now than under bruce? No. do we have better squad? Just. do we have a plan b? don't think we have a plan a. Arw we still dangerously close to relegation? You betcha. Is oniell the man for sunderland?im afraid not. time for him to go.
Mad max

Agree2 Disagree1

Yes MON WAS a good manager but he can't hack it anymore and Eliis Short will realise it. top ten finish!?. we are in fairyland if we belive we can acheive that!

Agree3 Disagree0

Hate to say this i'd have Bruce back!

Agree0 Disagree3

We only 3 points off top ten, but MON needs to change it around, bardsley to start, rose to start, sess in centre with ndiaye, mclean for johnson, larrson on the right wing and graham upfront with fletcher, I feel sorry for graham and fletcher starved of service because johnson ain't doing it and larsson is played centre mid when he should be on the right wing, sort it out MON or leave before we relegated, hope the bloke turns it around but not hoping on it!

Agree1 Disagree1

I wouldn't take Bruce back even if you payed me. The fact of the matter is managers generally don't do well when they come back to a club (There are a ew exceptions of course like Kenny Dalglish and Billy Davis of Nottingham Forrest right now) but other than that they just get more hate. I think we should ditch Mon and move on with our club. All the best to MoN in the future though. Was delighted when he arrived but he has lost his way.

Absolutely disgusting Martin. You have 9 games to redeem yourself before we all turn on you. "Judge me at the end of the season" Don't worry. we will. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. AGAIN

Believable11 Unbelievable0

Yes not good enough!. the fans will turn against him. then hell walk. this present team is worse than the one Bruce HAD!. AT LEAST the football was entertaining . we will be relegted!. QPR were very poor and we were outplayed by them!

Agree7 Disagree0

Worst decision was selling Campbell for next to nowt!. I wonder what ELLIS SHORT thinks of all this?

Agree6 Disagree1

And now apparently Wickham (Who hasn't even been given a real shot at the league yet) is going to Sheffield Wednesday for what I believe is around 2million! MON OUT

I have supported sunderland for 25 years and I can honestly say that this team and manager are the worst I've ever seen, every week we play bad, negative football we are going down this season mark my words

Believable4 Unbelievable1

We won't go down but its very dissapointing

Agree3 Disagree3

You are dissilusioned and niave if you think we can't go down as all the teams below us are playing better football picking up points and have a decent manager!

Agree1 Disagree0

No the worst for 15 years I highly doubt that. The team of 2005/06 was one of the worst teams in the history of football if you ask me.

Agree3 Disagree2

The skunks are laffing at us but at least we don't have an 8 yr contract to pay up when we sack oneill

Agree2 Disagree2

Youll loose tomorrow
Newcastle 0-2 Stoke
Jones 80
Whitehead 88

Agree2 Disagree1

''It was 3-1 you thick mag!''

Take a look at the time of the post you silly Mackem.

It was 2-1 when the post was made.

The Irony of your statement, LOL.

2-0? 3-0!.

4 4 2 - will we ever learn? ONeill has fallen for Harrys patta - we have no chance with that formation - God help us. Sammy Diglit.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

As I predicted. Sammy Diglit.

Agree3 Disagree0

6 defenders on the bench? Taxi for Marty

Agree2 Disagree0

Mon is the worst manager we have had in a long time. villa fans warned us about this when he was appointed. I like the man but I think football has left him behind. time to move on

What is MON playing at with this team against QPR. no recognised full backs ie rose bardsley + 3 defenders on the bench. so negative. ill be amazed if we don't get tonked today. we have to get rid of this manager please!

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Mon has to go he is making us a laughing stock if we get relegated we are doomed for gods sake he hasn't even got a first team coach has he??

Agree4 Disagree0

You were right, in all areas of your post. come back Peter Reid and save our club.

Agree4 Disagree1

I was right! we did get tonked!. I must be clairvoyant!

Agree2 Disagree0

Bring back Kevin Phillips!

Newcastle Fan here.

May as well start mocking you for getting beat by QPR now, even before the game has begun.

Sunderland will park the bus against the worst team in the Premier league and get turned over. haha.

Take a look at the Premier league table tomorrow evening.

Lets just see who is higher by then.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

May as well start by saying you are still below us. and if you are happy with that. then so are we. Cockney mafia for ever.

Agree2 Disagree1

Its a wonder Pardew can't get inside the ground as his head is so big!
