Loan move for Given? Much prefer him to Westwood and Mannone

You actually prefer a physically challenged, reserve team keeper who's an ex-Mag and old enough to pick up his bus pass? Get a life.

So I've just seen a website saying Newcastle hero joey Barton hacks down dicanio. can't see how anyone can call that man a hero. Still hope it was a good night for harper because he's a good lad (for a mag) and tnite was about charities

I think Hacks down Di Canio is a bit strong. He went down under a "fair" challenge by Barton much to the murth of the slightly biased 50k crowd. Ok he got boo'd every time he touched the ball and, all credit to him, he did get plenty of play. Stayed on the pitch the full 90 and scored the first penalty which stung a bit! But at the end of the day fair play to PDC for playing in the game and taking it in the spirit it was intended. It was a good night and the charities are richer for it. cheers Al

I'm a Sunderland fan and I went to the game because I have massive respect for someone who has given 20 year service to his club and I know all that as a club everyone of us Sunderland fans will applaud that fact. And by the way PDC was the best player on the pitch by a country mile. Hope he is signed on

Given used to play for us too! I think he is still a better choice than our 2 goalies even at his age.

I heard Given denied playing for us

Get di canio on the pitch
