Italian Bookies has us favourites to Land Roma Forward Pablo Osvaldo

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Hope we have a lot of Wonga!

Agree2 Disagree3

Weren't Southampton linked with him as well?

Agree4 Disagree1

Southampton are favourites

Agree5 Disagree4

Southampton prepared to offer 50 grand a week so that's us out.

Agree1 Disagree4

Spurs are set to announce the signing this morning so your all wrong!

Agree3 Disagree2

Our wage cap is £50,000 so no it isn't like!

Agree3 Disagree1

PDC says he's happy with the forwards he's got so unless there's an absolute bargain comes up I think it's just a left back and centre mid that we'll be bringing in.

Agree1 Disagree0

Funny that because I thought the policy now was to move out the big earners and bring people in for less money so we're sorted for when the financial fair play kicks in.

Agree1 Disagree0

Johnson is on 60,000

It is a pretty sad indictment of our game when we are struggling to come up with more than half a dozen names of good English creative central midfielders.

I hope we find someone to fill that role along with a left-back and I would still like to see a quick, Phillips-esque front man too.

Notwithstanding that, I think we have done some great business in this window and had a good pre-season. I just hope we can pick up some early points because that run of home games after Fulham looks extremely daunting and I don't want us playing catch up.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Rubbish!. in PDC we trust! and remember there's over 2 weeks of the transfer window left. and as always there's a mad rush at the 11th hour as with every club!. look at up the road no transfers no hope no managment and you think we are having it bad Lol!

Agree2 Disagree4

I don't see what in the opening post was 'rubbish'. Some good points imo

just watched the highlights of jozy last night and his goals for az, and after the mags are saying he's crap and couldn't hit a barn door, i'm glad he's playing for us and not them, because i'd be pretty worried if he'd signed for the unwashed, I really think this lad could be a great player for safc. tk73

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Wasn't just them, there was plenty of our 'FANS' who wasnt giving him a chance just coz he didn't play brilliantly on a pitch where the water was higher than the grass

Agree9 Disagree0

Three fantastic goals; all different, both feet and excellent finishes. Not a bad assist too for the first.

I agree, I think he could surprise a few this season.

Agree6 Disagree0

If he replicates that in a Sunderland shirt the fans will adore him. brilliant hattrick had it all power skill and what a free kick! that would have won goal of the month!

Agree5 Disagree0

Its not that the fans, yes fans not "fans", were just apprehensive based on his past

Agree2 Disagree1

2nd post, I completely agree
Sick of it when all of the fans after the Hong Kong Tournament were saying he was sh*t, that he was a donkey and that he was never gunna score a goal, they were disgraceful conditions and no matter if he's playing bad or not we got to get behind him and support him

Agree4 Disagree0

Altidore has failed to score in every league he's played in except the dutch league, and well the dutch league isn't the hardest to score in proven by players like afonso alves, although players like ruud and klaas have come out of there as well, its just he's failed absolutely everywhere else, especially the 1 in 28 in the premiership stands out. With spending 8 mil on him its an expensive risk, only time will tell how good a signing he turns out to be.

Last three hours Sunderland make official bid for wigans James McCarthey

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Awsome signing he would be

Agree5 Disagree2

If there's any truth in that, I'm hoping we haven't overpaid; I do fear he could be a very average player that happened to have a good six months at the end of last season.

Agree6 Disagree1

Help us he will!
Good player is he!

Just watched the 3-0 win against Newcastle and I think we should keep sessengong because this is proof of what he is capable of

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Good player but not consistent enough for me, wouldn't mind if he moved on; wouldn't mind if he stayed. I agree with previous posts saying he might well flourish under PDC, let's hope so.

Agree2 Disagree2

Sess is staying put. tk73

Every player has his price

Loan move for jack Rodwell would be good move he's got no chance getting in man city team wot u think? Ed?

Believable8 Unbelievable1

{Ed024's Note - I agree he's be a great addition - but would City let him go for a year ?}

I've vowed not to put any of the lads in my team this year, all I seemed to do was jinx them last season. How's your team going ed, you got it in the league yet?

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed024's Note - Yes I have a team in.}

I think they would considering they have the likes of fernandiniho, Garcia and yaya
This is the player di canio could have meant physical, English and experienced in english football

Anyone any info on Wes Brown's injury as I have in my fantasy football. thanx

Believable5 Unbelievable0

{Ed024's Note - Brave decision given his recent injury record- I'm hearing he will not be available for the first two games.}

Apparently we are frontrunners for Pablo Osvaldo according to sources in Italy
I was really shocked but live this to happen class, would have to pay over 10m for him

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Just googled it and it says that Southampton have had a £15m bid accepted for him.

Agree1 Disagree2

I think you will find that it is another team that plays in red and white and begins with S, my friend. He is on his way to Southampton who have bid around £15 mil, apparently. Check it out, google it.

Agree2 Disagree1

Doubt he'd join Southampton

Neither keeper given No 1 squad number, Celustka not given number 2, Vaughan, Ji and Catts got numbers, and Whickham kept number 10 instead of Altidore.

4 kept for new defensive midfielder perhaps?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I think we will see 3 more players in to fill those 2 3 and 4 numbers

Agree6 Disagree0

Altidore asked for 17 its his lucky number!

Dave the mackem

Agree6 Disagree0

PDC has now said either English or have to have played in the premier league, so could be anybody.

Agree4 Disagree0

Flamini for me wealth of experience great protection of the back four

Interesting to see cattermole has been given a squad number maybe he does feature in PDC's plan

Believable4 Unbelievable3

He does PDC confirmed it on the news tonight

Just when I thought we were going forward, my god, two steps back. Chris-s.

I think the british shortlist is as follows. Charlie Adam but I would not fancy him. Tom Cleverley Man Utd or James Milner. Milner is the one I think he will go for. English International who is experienced, a strong player, grafter, good passer of the ball and he may be open to a loan move as long as we pay some of his wages at Man City. JC Fulwell

Believable3 Unbelievable5

{Ed024's Note - Adam is just a Cattermle who can strike a free kick, no chance of Cleverley or Milner, wages would be a huge stumbling block.}

Keep taking the tablets

Huddlestones injury record speaks volumes. We will wait and see if Hulls money was spent wisely. Di Canio still wants an English ball playing midfielder. Who does everyone think?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Will hughes

Agree3 Disagree2

Jack rodwell, Aaron ramsey, leon Osman, frank lampard, victor moses,

Agree2 Disagree3

Victor Moses lol
He ain't strong
He ain't a passer
HE AIN'T ENGLISH

Agree6 Disagree1

James Morrison

Leon osman is a great shout although he is not strong! Would love to get him in tho!

Anyone know when the squad numbers will be out?. itll be interesting who gets the number 1 and 9 shirts!. Altidore usually wears 17 so Fletch might get the no 9 shirt!. JI wore 17 (asian players like combination of number 8 a lucky number for them ). i'd give the no1 jersey to Westwood!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Westwood better be our No. 1. He is in my dreamteam!

Disagree with anyone that thinks selling sess is a good idea he will flourish in this new look sunderland team! Craigsafc

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Agree this is a squad game and Sess will be invaluable as a squad player!
