Feel Van Aanholt should be dropped and get Alonso in now. We need to act now before other teams get quality and were left with Bargain basement players. Van Aanholt's confidence was shot down by comments by Jamie Carragher. Feel he need time on the bench for a few games. We the fans should own the club we would show ambition.

Remember Congerton scouted these players so he has to take a fair proportion of the blame and also Short for being too frugal . does Short realise the passion for this football club?? if not he should go aswell!. we need a FOTTBALLING chairman!not a business man counting he pennies lke Scrooge!

Definitely a rat (Defoe) he's always had wins handed to him on a plate at Tottenham when he played for a very good Portsmouth team and he can't handle the fact that we might actually have to try

Ed there's a rumour going around that DA wants to leave as he's not getting the backing from Short over promised signings and going by the pre season Pound land mentality there's a hint of truth it that! if that is true then Short should surely think about his position at this club!

One goal from a corner played short, only one defender came out. Basic f.ing defending you learn at school to have two defenders come out. 2nd goal a throw in , van arrholt and Kabul not watching when it was taken. Basic f.ing defending you learn at school. I'm angry I went today but I won't go again unless several quality signings are made. Kabul has no left foot Coates is as slow as a tortoise. Cattermole looks extremely one paced as does laarson. Fletcher didn't win a header as Kabul constantly pumped the ball 50 yards each time. Defoe looked lost. Mvila looks decent. Jones out of depth van arrholt isn't a defender he needs to play further up. In my estimation we need £150 million pounds to spend in the next two weeks. We won't spend 10

Totally agree Coates and Kaboul are not good enough they are too slow and make schoolboy defending. I fear Exeter will batter us with our defence. Ellis has to go in his pocket and buy quality not bargain sh** actual quality which rarely happens. Players like Austin, Like Hernandez. Like Dembele ETC buy these players along with others and we will do better. They may not want to come but offer them money we wouldn't usually as its desperation as for the TV deal which we need.

We have to invest heavily now. We can get a return on the TV deal so this season is huge for us. Go for Hernandez and Austin and offer them big money. This is what Short must do. We would get a return on wage as for the deal. Tell them they would be our main players for the season and would be huge for us. But Marcus Alonso and De sciglio on loan if we can and get Fabian Schar an offer him good money and get Jonny Evans and try and get januzaj on loan and a solid midfielder. Ellis you must invest is similar quality players at least try and offer good money and persuade them. If you don't invest your an idiot Mr Short. Lol

Agree with you both completely! But I don't even know if Van Aanholt would cut it further up, he has no heart at all. It's embarrassing! Need another left back sharpish, he looks like he knows he won't be dropped as there's no one else! Jones 1st choice rb? Shouldn't of bought Matthews in should of brought in better so Jones was a squad player! Coates awful said it when we were linked he was a waste, squad/cup player at best! Kaboul average at best, reason he hasn't had a game at Tottenham for so long. Need some creativity, if we played 4-2-3-1 with Cattermole and M'Vila as the two with Lens left we need a number 10 and striker that can do the job on his own and also a right winger!
I'd happily see Austin or Hernandez come in, we HAVE to pay up and get them in. I'd rather pay money for someone like Matt Phillips than get Januzaj in on loan. We need to fork out for a 10 Dembele could fit in there as playing him as a holding midfielder is out of position, destroyed Utd few season ago playing 10, he has more freedom. Rather see Ron Vlaar come in on a free than either of the two centre halves we have. Fork out and get Van Dijk in, even Evans would improve us. I'd also take Ashley Cole on a free as completion. Rather have Alonso though. Get a RB in Sam Byram? I'd even have Jon Flannagen on loan.

I agree because you mention quality not players like Kaboul and Jones. It's simple why does the boardroom not understand invest and a return on TV deal.

That was appaling agree something deeply wrong at this club and if Short can't see it he needs to go now!. Kaboul makes Oshea look like world class . DA has to take some responsibility with the team selection as he should have dropped Kaboul and put Oshea in even brown would have been better!! put the entire U21 team in and drop this shambles of a team!!

Realistically that will never happen. Though we should have a team like that now, if not better considering the substantial amount of money which has been spent since Shorts arrival (£250m). I would expect if Short took note of the problems, he'd look for at least £30m free to spend now.

These team is more than achievable if the supposed £50m was the budget at the beginning of the window, because we have only spent £15m and recouped £9m of that. That should leave £44m but £8m from Alvarez maybe, leaves us with nothing to worry about! Though we all know we probably didn't have that substantial budget to start off with, boy do we need it now
