Bye bye Danny
5 million for him was a silly purchase
Believable11
Unbelievable5
Could have turned out better but he did put in a good shift.
No point in being negative about the guy. Wish him well.
Agree13
Disagree3
He was pissing against the wind with some fans, hope he does well at hull. apart from the lack of goals he put in graft & some good performances against stoke & the mags particually!
Agree8
Disagree2
No logic in sanctioning this, we now need 2 or depending on sess 3 strikers in a market where they are as rare as hens dentures
Agree2
Disagree8
Nothing at all to do with his background, he may have worked as hard as he could but he was slow, unable to last 90 minutes and actually missed more than a few easy chances. He looked Championship standard from the start. Should fit in well at Hull.
Agree7
Disagree2
Uh oh.
PDC has rumbled Agent Graham.
Agent Johnson will have to fly solo next season.
Agree2
Disagree10
Agent Johnson must be a good double agent then, seeing as he went wild we he swung his left foot and slotted the ball past your clueless lot!
Agree13
Disagree0
Eh? agent Johnson. he scored against yas at your own turf ya tit
Agree11
Disagree2
Agent Graeme and Johnson could both be spies and play out the rest of there careers for us and combined still not do as much damage as Agent Ashley.

It is true that Danny graham is back early from Italy. No injury reported so maybe talk with Hull? Just mere speculation at the moment on my end here. What do you all think of Graham possibly leaving?
Believable8
Unbelievable1
{Ed024's Note - I would say he's very likely to off to Hull.}
Why would we loan danny graham to hull he cost us 5m 6 month's ago sell him no loan deal's.
Agree7
Disagree0
Hull will be paying us to loan him frees up some wages and opens a spot for another striker
Agree6
Disagree0
A loan is a joke, either sell him for 4-5m or keep him and give him a chance, if this deal goes through then we are being persons
Agree5
Disagree1
Being persons? How dare we!
Agree6
Disagree1
Thats the ed changing the word as it was not a very nice word I typed!
Agree3
Disagree1
We get cash 4 loaning him out so it's an ideal situation, we've got plenty time to sell him Nd if he does well wele get at least wot we paid 4 him! Jarra makem
Agree2

You can't start criticising the club just because they make a decision you don't agree with. If your happy with the vision they are putting forward then be excited instead of suggesting you could run the club better. Graham worth half of what we paid at mo, he scores goals at hull and his value rises or we get a good player back. He doesn't and we probably recoup what he's worth now anyway. So no mate. sunderland are not 'persons'.
Agree0
Disagree0
{Ed024's Note - Hopefully he'll have a good season - gain loads of confidence and then we'll have him back next season.}

ED what is happening to the Mavrias and Purzzi deals, will they be announced tomorrow before the team leaves for Hong Kong?
Believable4
Unbelievable1
{Ed024's Note - Peruzzi is almost done - all personal terms sorted - now just medical. I am not sure where we are with Mavrias.}
Mavrias is carrying an injury so he can't complete medical

Agree6

Yes this is true, he has a slight abdominal strain and until its has cleared up he cannot undertake his medical.

Ed, new club doctor starting fri, that hold up on new players joining I hear. topcat
Agree0

{Ed024's Note - we've had no issues signing players so far so I don't think that would cause a problem - unless their is a particular concern with Peruzzi so they want a particular docs opinion.}
16 Jul 2013 21:51:51
ed never seen altidore play but what type of player is he. with sky saying hull interested in graham i'm a bit concerned, as the games I saw graham in last year his hold up play and link up with midfield was outstanding something which fletcher couldn't do. although he didn't score I think if he could get a couple of goals in pre-season he would be my main forward with altidore and fletcher feeding off him. just my opinion mate but fletcher is predator and will score goals anywhere graham is a team player would like to keep them both and see how it goes
Believable8
Unbelievable2
{Ed024's Note - Altidore is similar to Graham, can play with his back to goal and hold the ball up. Physically he is more powerful than Graham which is why I think PDC is willing to let him go.}
Danny has a prem ratio of around 1 in 4, the new boy was signed on shorts wishes and even though he's unproven expect him to be no1 even if he is as prolific as he was at hull. wonder why bruce didn't go back for him
Agree3
Disagree2
Danny Graham is the worst forward I have seen in Sunderland colours. He is championship at best. Get as much of the 5 mil back and move on. We have two very good strikers in Fletcher and Altidore, and if we keep Sess, all the better, but I would still like to see another option like Guidetti or
Agree4
Disagree3
How can you say he's the worst fwd you have seen, he is not a target man which is what he had to do last season, his game is playing of a striker, has an excellent work rate and will score goals if played in the right way, he can't be blamed for not scoring as the service he got was crap. good luck to him if he goes, I would of kept him and played him where he likes to play and he would of got us goals.
Agree4

Worse than FLO??
Agree3
Disagree0
Flo scored on his debut against Man United.
Agree1

If we keep players of Graham's quality, our football club will not improve. There is a reason why we finished 4th bottom last season. We had too many players who weren't good enough. I for one was embarrassed to buy a player, who couldn't get a game for Swansea.

Is it true graham has gone home early? Safc93
Believable3

While it is true that Graham struggled after joining us last season, he got very little support from the likes of McClean- who was a complete waste of space- and Larsson, who hardly put in a decent cross all season. And he ran his heart out every time he was sent on- again more than can be said for most of the team. If he is on his way, I wish him well, but sorry to see him go while Bardsley, McClean, Vaughan and Cuellar are still on the payroll.
Agree2

Ed what's the latest on John Guittelli at Man City? are we still after him?
Agree0
Disagree2
{Ed024's Note - I think that one's dead - Pellegrini wants him in squad.}
Yes - He is on his way to Hull on a season long loan
Agree0
Disagree1
Seems a coincidence that graham has returned to north east and joe Kinnear has been reported he is at sid james tonight could there be a link up
Agree1
Disagree2
{Ed024's Note - I think Newcastle arnt signing anyone so he's more likely to go to Hull.}
Until Man City secure at least two new strikers Guidetti will be going nowhere.

Hi eds do you think there's any chance or the giacherini and perruzzi deals falling through? can't see why its taking so long unless the players are stalling for other clubs? also are we lookin at any othe cm besides huddlestone, think he would rather stay down south! Thanks
Believable4
Unbelievable1
{Ed024's Note - Giacherrini is done, just a few personal terms for Peruzzi, not aware of Sunderland looking at other midfield players, but agree Huddlestone doesn't want to move house !!}
Been on Sky and FTB for a couple of hours that Giacherini has signed a 4 year deal
Agree2

Wouldnt be dissapointed if Huddelstone doesn't come there are better options perhaps a skilfull Spanish creative midfielder!
Agree4
Disagree3
Thanks 024 delighted giacherinis done! Looks like were going for an oldschool 442 with to big lads in cm and upfront. Fletch amnd altidore will destroy defences next year but would be nice to bring in a pacey or creative playerfor another option. if sess goes!

We are looking at Veronas midfielder Hallfredsson!

Ide like us to get in for some of Ghanas u20 players who came 3rd in the last u20 World Cup Ebenezer Assifuah was the top scorer on 7 he still plays in Ghana who we have strong ties with, Frank Acheampong who plays for Anderlect who had a great World Cup and Moses Odjer who was also mint and still plays in Ghana, let's put our ties to Ghana to good use and snap these youngsters up.

The LEFT BACK! Abdul Baba looks a good prospect too plays in Germany I think getting a couple in from Ghana might help us tempt Duncan.

I think we should break the bank to buy Insigne. If anyone hasn't seen him go on Youtube. He's explosive and already looks as good as what Super Kev was.
Believable4
Unbelievable3
We shouldn't be breaking the bank for anyone, that's exactly what our sensible well thought out business model is trying to eradicate. If we have the funds then great but we've got a fair few players we need to sell at the same time. I don't expect to see insigne and would much rather spend sensibly on the right bacm and left back position.

Sunderland in advanced talks to let Danny Graham go on season long loan. Ed Do you think PDC has another deal set up to bring in a striker?
Believable4
Unbelievable1
{Ed024's Note - Ithink that will depend on whether we keep Sessor not.}
I don't think he's ruling out Mandron playing a big part next season. Altidore fletcher wickham giaccherini and sessegnon means there's plenty of variety in there and opportunity to be flexible with formations. Mandron could be a bonus so don't really see another striker coming in. And that list is presuming graham and Ji leave which there's no guarantee.
Agree1
Disagree0
Cant comment on altidore but if we let graham go we will need to sign a replacement as fletch no good at holding ball up or link up play

Believable5
Unbelievable2
{Ed024's Note - We are still interested but their not selling }
When they say 'we're not selling'
It means, pay a lot and he can go
Why else would they get Mertens and Callejon who happen to play in the exact same positions as Insigne
Agree3

More chance of signing Elvis than Insigne!

We shouldn't loan or sell Graham to Hull keep him he's a squad player!. hell probbaly score goals at Hull and against us!
