well well well Jeez and chris-s what happened there? Where was the revolution, its already starting to look like the party with marty, and before you say its only 1 game, you boys have been giving it large before a ball was even kicked. 3 shots on target? Clinical!

Believable12 Unbelievable3

{Ed024's Note - Fulham only had one shot on target !!!}

That is true Ed but Sunderland had there best efforts from outside the box. 1 shot on target to Sunderland's 3. Not a great difference.

Agree6 Disagree2

{Ed024's Note - Cabrals and Ji with headers were probably the best chances - but they couldn't keep them on target.}

Im sorry but nobody can have too many complaints with us after that. If not I'd question if you went to the game if you want to criticise. We played very well, attacked in numbers, had more imagination and Di Canio clearly has done well in pre season. We will win more than we lose if we play like that. Proud to be red and white tonight despite massive disappointment.

Agree11 Disagree7

The team was class
Need another striker or Fletch back immediately, when Altidore (Who was Class) Was holding the ball up then playing the wingers through to cross into the box (Altidore can't get into box because he's too far away) Sess wasn't busting a gut to get into the box, just tiptoes around the edge, he can go for all I care, if it was the other way around with Sess holding the ball up and Jozy getting on the end of crosses we would have won 3-1
I'm sure PDC will address this matter

Agree9 Disagree8

Would have thought Sess will be off to Saudi after that, needed to work with Jozy but went walk about too often. Desperate for that midfielder with the keys, Larsson is not that man. It was a match that could have went either way, early days

Agree6 Disagree6

I'd be more worried about u lot being bottom on Monday night after your drubbing, disappointed yes but dominated that game, sess looked like he couldn't be arsed n if he wants to go flog him, could have played with 10 the diff he made, cabral, jozy, were good today, we will come good, if u can't get behind the lads after that then ya welcome to watch the skunks

Agree7 Disagree5

Message to any critics on here

name the last game we dominated like that

Agree6 Disagree5

We need a creative midfield player asap because sebb just isn't the man for the job also for me another striker someone with lots of pace to feed of jozy, shame about the score but good signs also need to work on free kicks because today was pretty poor nevermind.

Agree6 Disagree1

We were brilliant, yes we had 3 shots on target but 20 shots alltogether to fulhams 1 shot the whole game, mags will be crying come monday night FACT!

Agree4 Disagree4

{Ed024's Note - Fulham had 5 shots - only 1 on target.}

NEWCASTLE?

Agree2 Disagree3

Newcastle

Agree3 Disagree4

For all the fans who were not fortunate enough to be at the game today to witness our best performance for a long time and may be worried that normal service has been resumed don't BE, all the new players looked good, a couple more reqd, central midfield and someone to play off Altidore, sess didn't put himself out, possibly leaving. we got punished for a defensive lapse, but were much the better team, better times. Ahead if we play like that's what

Agree4 Disagree2

You never dominated newcastke you simply played on the counter and waited for jonas to make a mistake

Agree2 Disagree5

In fact don't even read the papers or sites match reports because already read several inaccurate ones especially and sadly the roker report who claim we huffed and puffed and never looked likely to break them down. The result was just typical football but being at the game let me tell you that was a damn good performance with loads of clear minor aspects we need to tidy up and even though Fulham aren't one of the big teams in the league we were some distance better than them and we are definitely not a relegation side based on that.

Agree2 Disagree1

Let's get one thing straight here. We were not BRILLIANT. Had we been then Fulham would have been beaten out of sight. We were good in the first half but oh so very poor after Fulham had scored. There was some nice movement and I was pleased at how we looked to play the ball out from the back. All of the new players had their good moments and if we continue like this and with the addition of a good creative midfielder and specialist left-back then we will win football matches. I cannot believe some of the negativity by some people tonight. Onwards and upwards.

Agree5 Disagree2

Well I was there today and thought we were ok but had no cutting edge! Cabral was very good and altidore did well but the quality of the balls into him were very poor! (larsson especially) but giacherrini looked poor to me! He rarely beat his man and final ball is awful although I will give him time before judging him! Celustka was ok didn't really catch the eye while roberge was excellent! He had berbatov terrified that he wanted to play out on the wing! By far and away my man of the match! Poor substitute choice by paolo aswell needs to be better and earlier. Great turn out well done for the support lads!

Agree3 Disagree2

We were cack in the final third plus we lacked a leader on the pitch

Agree1 Disagree1

I was there today as well and disagree with the negative comments. I didn't think any of the players were poor and if we had edged it every single fan would have been praising the backsides off them. It was as dominant a display as we've had for a while at home. let's remember fulham at home last season, they passed us off the park and showed all the quality, definitely wasnt like that today.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry dave don't know what game you watched but giaccherini looked very good

Agree1 Disagree0

Your going to give him time to judge him. You have just annihilated him on here. I though you lot said he was a world class winger?

Agree2 Disagree1

Giacherini looked very good first 60 mins think he ran out of steam not realising pace of epl give him 3 or 4 games and we will be seeing an exciting player

Agree4 Disagree0

There was just no end product for me! I do think after a few more games he can only get better and I hope he does! don't think celustka overlapped johnson much either wish johno and sess would be more direct and run at defenders with pace! I agree we dominated but need to turn the domonation into shots on target and most importantly goals! can't wait for fletch to return! I will keep the faith and be there against mk dons! Haway the lads

from twitter, sess is off to play in the desert! Hope it's not true, but if it happens I hope we have a quality replacement lined up otherwise it's going to be a struggle this season. And no I'm not a mag, I'm a Sunderland fan.

Quickly Ed, what's the Premier League.com Fantasy league code, can't find it on here. My teams at the ready

{Ed024's Note - 132171-293517}

Disappointing result but very encouraging performance, well let's put our feet up now and enjoy the Monday night football, and see exactly what our black and white friends have to offer.

Sunderland looking to buy Roberto Guirino?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed024's Note - If we did he'd be development squad only.}

17 Aug 2013 02:47:21
Mags saying they have a top 6 squad. pfft top 6 my arse. More like bottom 6. They say they have very good players, well they don't seem very good when they were nearly relegated.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Seemed pretty good when we finished 5th though, not that you'd know what a top 6 squad is like to watch week in week out.

Agree1 Disagree5

{Ed024's Note - So you expecting top 6 again ?}

Turmoil all over you club from players to owner, haven't strengthed your team, the same team that just avoided relegation by the skin of your teeth, teams around you strengthening and you think your going to get top 6 mugpie?, relegation candidates while sunderland will be top 10

Agree4 Disagree0

Do you mean 5th of bottom.

Agree1 Disagree0

Strange how the Sid James brigade say they have a top 6 quality team, they lost exactly half of their games and conceded 68 goals last season, hope they are top 6 quality again this season. At least we knew it was time for a big overhaul and our club has acted, while the skunks must be happy with their top quality squad and their manager. Chris-s.

Agree2 Disagree0

Is this the same deluded team who we stuffed 0-3 and also were nearly relegated. We newly promoted and bottom clubs have strengthened our teams this season. The Horse punches have got one crocked loanee. The french bottlers have relegation battle to look forward to this season.

Agree2 Disagree0

We got to a Quarter final in Europe last season, and that was in a bad season. What did Sunderland accomplish? another manager, another season upcoming season of lost hope and more money spent unwisely.

Agree1 Disagree1

If it wasn't for their 90th minute goals, the skunks would of been RELEGATED

Agree0 Disagree0

So getting to quarter final means your brilliant mugpie? haha you almost accomplished getting beat off brighton in the cup AGAIN and not to mention getting humilated by Sunderland and Liverpool at home!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not saying we're top5 or even top half material, but we finished the 38 game season above you. And while I've been posting this I see you've lost at home to one of the worst away teams in the prem. And if you ever get into European competition we'll see what effect that has on your domestic season. I won't hold my breath. That said, I wish you good luck for 2013/14. Vic.
