Sunderland pull out of race for Wigan Athletic winger Charles N Zogbia
by Geraldine Lagard. Published Mon 18 Jul 2011 15:00, Last updated: 2011-07-18 Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has ruled himself out of the chase for Wigan Athletic winger Charles N'Zogbia.
The Frenchman, who is currently the subject of a £10 million bid from Aston Villa, is understood to be a long-term target for the Black Cats' manager who signed him during his time at the Latics helm.
However, he has reached the same conclusion as his Newcastle United counterpart, Alan Pardew, that the finances do not stack up to make the deal happen.
Bruce said: "[N'Zogbia] is not going to happen. It has become a bit too rich for us." source click lancashire
