Any news on perruzi ed. taking ages, I thought his signing would have been announced today.

{Ed024's Note - Medical should be done by now .......bit like the Altidore deal - that wasn't confirmed until after 11pm on the day of his medical - not sure there is such a long delay. Don't worry it will go through.}

One way would be to blazon your shirt with a logo that causes your star striker to refuse to play again. Just a thought

Got to laugh at these "Skunks". Usually when a club loses their "Star Striker" it is because a bigger club has come in for him, or God forbid he has become the victim of a career ending injury. But the Ge0rdi3s are losing their "Star Striker" because he refuses to wear their tacky shirt. You just couldn't make it up. The "Circus" that just keeps on giving.

With Pratdew and JK in charge, I can't see them signing anyone of quality. I am no longer winding them up on this issue.
It has gone beyond banter now. To rub their noses in to it any further will cause more enmity. Their sensible fans ( believe it or not, there are lots of them ) deserve a lot better.

Yes, the jellied eel gobblers are certainly taking the p**s out of the jawdees, comedy at its best and as you say you could not make it up. Chris-s.

Aye, and the vast majority of them hate our guts, so don't feel sorry for them, they deserve it.

I did not mean to say that this is a permanent state of mind, purely temporary. You are correct in one way, I am trying to chill out for my forthcoming holiday, all inclusive Dominican Republic, where I intend to stay in a permanent state of innebriation or pissed if you prefer.

{Ed024's Note - Probably}
City in process of buying a few forwards and with what they have already guidetti could be allowed to leave on permanent deal

I've read he's having a medical on Friday, that's when our new club doctor joins. The reason peruzzi can have a medical today without the new doc is that he doesn't have an injury so is ok to go ahead.

Let's hope for a nice 'double' tomorrow then - assuming Dr. Rae (2nd) say yes

{Ed024's Note - At the right price he could do a job - I think PDC is thinking he might get a bargin as he's unsettled in Turkey.}

Ed what is happening with Orban hasn't been anything for weeks. Is it likely he will come to Sunderland?
Believable6
Unbelievable1
{Ed024's Note - He has a few options and looks like he cant make up his mind - PDC wants players in quick hence the approach for Bastian Oczipka. If Orban doesn't make a decision by the weekend expect PDC to pull out altogether and look elsewhere.}
18 Jul 2013 08:18:24
According to an Italian website Insigne has told Sunderland he is not interested in leaving Napoli. He has been rewarded for his loyalty by being given the number 7 shirt which was worn by Cavani.

Anyone have any idea how far away Fletcher is from a return. It worrys me when a player misses pre-season, they always seem to endure a difficult season which is a shame because I think a fully fit Fletcher up top with Altidore will cause problems and of course score goals.
I'm still a little worried we won't score enough. any thoughts or info?
Believable3
Unbelievable1
{Ed024's Note - His aim was to be ready for start of season but that looks unlikely now as he will not have played in any pre-season games. Sessignon/Giaccherini playing in behind Altidore might be the tactic in the early games - I was expecting to be hearing more about Sess going by now - not sure if PDC can fit Sess and Giaccherini into a team that has Altidore and Fletcher in it. What does everyone think ? I would love Sess to stay but is a 442 with Sess and Giaccherini too adventurous ??}
Could it be possible to play sess and johnno on the flanks giacherini sorry for spelling in centre mid and have one holding midfielder which would leave room for two up top. just a thought
Agree3
Disagree1
I think PDC has to push the boundaries a bit. If Fletch isn't fit and Sess is still a Sunderland player then I think playing him and Giacherrini behind is a very good tactic. Unless he decides to play Sess down the middle and then Gia and Johnson on the wings. Either way a strong attacking line up.
Agree4
Disagree0
Goacherrini sess johnson and two strikers is far too much for one team, we would be too exposed off the ball. However, I would be delighted to have all of them in the squad. A big problem last year was a lack of depth in the squad and very rarely had decent options on the bench. Some strong competition for places can do wonders for the team and I think Di Canio will rotate the team depending on the opposition. Counting down the days til wednesday to watch some new boys in action. ha'way the lads. JohnSafc
Agree7

I can't see why we can't have sess & Giacherini in the squad, although I'm not so sure where Sess would fit into a 442. I guess if Fletcher is out he'll probably start up top alongside Altidore. It's always been something of an issue with Sess, he's a great player ( when it suites him ) but he doesn't seem to have a most effective position. I can see a lot of responsibility lying on Cabral's shoulders as the holding midfielder this season. Which leads me to another point. If he's happy to be part of a squad and not a shoe in every week like under previous managers, I would keep hold of Cattermole.

Heard the Graham loan to hull will include a 5mil option to buy clause if hull stay up next season. Hull don't want to pay 5mil and be stuck with him on 40k a week if they go down next season. With his 40k a week wage freed up it gives Di Canio a chance to get in another Striker. Also heard that if we sell Larsson to lazio and Bardsley can find another club there combined 60k a week wages will be used to fund another player. So looks like another striker in and maby a big signing coming next.

Larsson was free, so with no transfer fee paid - he's sure to be one of Sunderland's highest earners.
Agree3

No transfer fee for Larsson but his wages combined with bardsley's (who we would get a sale fee from) would free up some serious dosh!
Can you ever remember a more exciting pre season time?
i'm living away in Lancs these days, I sometimes miss the crack from the Borough and the William Jamerson with the guys, I bet everyone is mega excited up there!
