I reckon after today's performance (very good) we will finally fill in the gaps of the squad
I think we could get Borini, but if that fails Poyet will have a plan B in the shape of someone like Welbeck or Salah, a defender is needed, we are slow at the back and are prone to making mistakes
and we are having good talks with Kalou, he is a good player who can get in behind and has had a great season in France, he wants the move to happen apparently

Comon Gus, Lee, Short, clock's ticking

Gus worked out how mu were going to play and offset it. Could have won that one and buckley was promising.

Bye bye johnson

Vergini and Buckley looked class acts today but with Wickhams miss we should have taken the 3 points ,again cue for a striker to finish off these chances!

Just before Buckley signed I said
"What a waste of money on a championship quality player"

He was one of our best today.
I take back what I said. He looked sharp and actually took players on and made things happen rather than what Johnson does.

We looked good today. Few defensive problems still need sorting though like Vergini, he needs to calm down a bit could have cost us the game today. Altidore showed signs of hope when he came on and looked powerful on the ball but I think we still need a pacey striker to run behind the defenders and make space.

All in all extremely happy with a point.
haway!

Without Verginis two brilliant tackles today we probably would have lost. He played extremely well indeed in my eyes. Anyone else agree

I would've rather signed anybody over Vergini. Today he was amazing! There were a couple lousy touches and poor passes, but for the most part he was awesome. Always in the right place, great tackles, great going forward, just an all around great performance. Keep up the good work!

Agree, very good performance
All it looks like we need now is a quick central defender and a goalscorer that runs in behind, we've got too many who's job is to hold the ball up, Welbeck, Borini, Kalou?

I agree with you on Buckley, he was very bright, however I have to disagree with you on Vergini, he was class. He was a little bit clumsy sometimes but he done his defensive duties really well in my opinion and that challenge on RVP was awesome, I don't care what anyone says, never a penalty.

so so proud i'm a safc supporter, we don't need borinis wellbecks sinclairs. SAFC`s on the up nearly the same team as last year so to me it`s believe, BELIEVE, sunderland red bulls. by the way gus is addicted to the stuff, speculation so i'm told, so all you judas`s get a grip and let the man do his job.

{Ed024's Note - Clearly we do need another forward - injuries or suspensions could really hurt us.}

supposidly 3 signings due to happen, I think they are all loans, my guess is Kalou, Sinclair and a defender which I hope is Dawson but probably not, anyone else have any ideas. . 1-0 to the Lads today is my prediction

Believable5 Unbelievable1

{Ed024's Note - I'd take a point.}

Dawson off to Hull and were 1-0 down. I'd change your crystal ball!

Agree0 Disagree2

He said "hope" not "will" and we're 1-1 ;)

One defender is the minimum needed- lucky point today because United as inept as we were. But surely Poyet can see that neither O'Shea nor Brown are fast enough in thought or action to play out from the back? Brown was particularly slow and careless, and his sloppiness could have cost two goals against better opposition. We need someone much more comfortable on the ball at the heart of the defence. We also need to stop clearing crosses and set-pieces into the unoccupied zone we leave in front of the penalty box- again a better side might have made more of the number of times the ball was gifted into this area. But Buckley and Rodwell promising, and VA and Vergini showed they have the pace we lack in the centre. Come Congerton, a couple of sensible signings could make us quite competitive!

Browns positional play is 2nd to none. there's not many fast centre halves around, would you like Mertasacker or Senderos. I guess you would take Brown any day. I would
