Anyone heard of rafinha, plays for Barcelona, been on loan to celta, been told today that he is available and Sunderland have held talks. 21 yes old, attacking midfielder??

Rafinha Alcantara? Younger brother of Bayern's Thiago? Yeah, why not? Of course he'd be interested in leaving Barcelona to come to Sunderland. More chance of Jack Colback getting in the England squad.

It still worries me that we haven't got an out and out goal scorer. I can't see Wickham, Fletcher or Altidore getting 15 goals between them. I hope one of the ' surprises ' is a top class striker.

Agree with that comment 100% Borinifan . we need strikers and several have slipped through the transfer net and gone to other clubs .and at the end of the day its goals that win matches and get us points that will keep us out of relegation trouble!

Can’t wait for this surprise – wonder who it is? think it could be Cilla Black who announces it? the biggest surprise will be if we sign anybody. We need at least 6 as if we have any injuries we are f**ked.

I remember that last year, it's a shame really, we could have got him, he wasn't having game time, he stayed at Napoli and has become one of the best wingers in the world

Toby Alderwrireld has agreed to join SAFC on a season long loan with talks planned next summer for a permanent deal. Van Dijk has also agreed to join SAFC in a initial 6mill deal with add ons. Ricky Alverez is also to join on loan with a 8.5mil buy out next summer and finally Borini has agreed to join SAFC for 14mill. All four players are due to sign before Deadline day.

Sunderland have loaned inter Milan midfielder Ricky Alverez the argentine attacking midfielder has signed a season loan deal today with a 8.5mil option to buy if Sunderland wish next year.

Quite happy with this signing as I have seen him play a few times and he could be the answer to the lack of creativity we have in our team, rather take him now then wait on for Borini!
