Personally I don't think we'll bring in any "real quality" tomorrow. An old, past his best, striker, and maybe a defender on loan. That will be it!! Hard second half of the season on the cards me thinks!! :-(

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Rubbish !

Agree2 Disagree2

Another upbeat supporter, you were'nt booing Danny Graham by any chance were you ? Come on we all need to stick together 2nd half of the season, Marty will do the business don't fret

Agree2 Disagree1

Believe it or not, I was one of the few who didn't boo. Thought it was rather embarrassing. I don't think Graham would be the answer, but doesn't matter which forward he brings in if he's going to persist with just playing 1 up front!!

Agree3 Disagree0

I agree we'll end up with some muppet that's not even fit, Heskey or kevin davies.

Agree1 Disagree1

Some people have never had a full glass.

Jeez.

Sunderland first team after deadline:

Gk.simon mignolet

Rb.craig Gardner
Cb.kader mangane
Cb.john o'shea
Lb.danny rose

Rm.aiden mcgeady
Cm.alfred nydiae
Cm.stephane sessegeon
Lm.adam Johnson

St.danny graham
St.steven fletcher

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Although I always have my heart in mouth when the ball goes near him, Bramble has hit a purple patch and I wouldn't be surprised if he kept his place

Agree3 Disagree1

Would prefer bent over graham
He was good by everyone at the game the other night so won't be surprised if he turns us down

Agree3 Disagree3

Booed = good

Agree7 Disagree1

I was ashamed to be a sunderland supporter when Graham was booed

Agree6 Disagree4

HES A MAG

Agree4 Disagree3

He's supposed to be off to Boro now, have to thank all the muppets that booed him for that, serve us right if we don't get a striker at all, if I was MON I'd be furious.

Agree3 Disagree1

Scott Sinclair is a non starter. FA or FIFA rules state a player cannot play for more than 2 clubs in any one season. He's played for both Swansea and Man City this season. He's spending the rest of the season on City's bench!!!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

He could go back to Swansea on loan though, can't he?

Agree2 Disagree2

Mcgeady been spottid at a london airport on his way to sunderland. danny g will sign at the same time FACT that's the lads done in this window

Agree0 Disagree1

We have airports in north east why fly to london?

safc to surprise all of us on Thursday
GRAHAM IS COMING!!!
a rb bid has gone in and awaiting response overnight - safc knocked back over jenkinson loan deal last week
downing is NOT coming
Bent is NOT coming
Carlton Coles name keeps cropping up but this WONT happen
we are NOT looking at foreign young strikers
Samba bid was in two weeks ago, QPR have offered him a fortune to help save them- oneil still waiting response as bid was accepted but player wants to get as much money as possible.
Scott Sinclair is another player who safc had put loan bid in for

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Javier pastore . But I reckon he would struggle to get in our side.

Agree1 Disagree2

We can guess and hope as much as we want but it is down to MoN so hope he is on his A game tmro

Agree4 Disagree0

Zarate is definitely not coming
His agent has said he is very near dynamo Kiev switch

Agree2 Disagree0

Samba would have been brilliant signing for us

Agree3 Disagree1

Its Grahams family being homesick is reason he wants to return to the north east deal is done I hear

Agree3 Disagree1

reading that mon said he put offers in for the players he was after a couple of weeks ago and was waiting to see what happens to them. worry if they are not accepted just hope he has some back up plans for us lads

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Oniell doesn't do back up planz

Agree2 Disagree1

If he doesn't that means no cf coming today lads

We're most likely to sign three players by deadline these will be :

Andreas Cornelius
Danny Graham
Aiden mcgeady

And a surprise signing of Christopher Samba but I really doubt it.

(princey1995)

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Look descent players
But I really hate it wen the players like fletcher are really underrated just because they play for a team like
Sunderland cos
If podolski and fletcher both get
15 goals at the end of this
Season podolski would be branded one of the best strikers in prem because he plays for a top club and fletch is known as the scottish player from up north because we are a mid table club

Agree3 Disagree2

EA and tv proper underrate us
Such as FIFA 13 fletcher has a 68 shooting
He is one of the most deadly strikers around with a goal to shot ratio of 1:4

Cousin of mine lives in the Midlands and said that one of his mates has heard from Villa that Sunderland have enquired about Agbonlahor. don't know how true his mate is but I would certainly think he would add a bit of something extra to us.

Believable2 Unbelievable9

Yes he would certainly inject some pace and flair up front but I don't belive the link is true. Just hope O`Neill gets his finger out and gets a few quality players in - NOT LONG TO GO UNTIL THE WINDOW SLAMS SHUT!!!..........

Agree2 Disagree0

I would love agbonglahor think he top class expecially under O'Neil and ED did we get 6 million seen as though Darren bent played vs Newcastle ? {Ed024's Note - the details of the deal were not made public so it would be a guess.]

Agree1 Disagree1

Thanks :)

Heard from a club source that Graham is having second thoughts about a move due to last nights reception and not being guaranteed first team starter. There is however a striker on his way for a medical and talks but it is being kept under wraps. Anyone heard who it could be? MON has 5 other bids for players but does not expect to get more than 3 of those. Lets hope he can pull off a few excellent additions.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Andreas Cornelius, Danish striker, good in the air and a very exciting talent.

Agree5 Disagree0

Seriously we've bid £6m for Cornelius, I hope we get him, he's only 19 as well. Thank me later haha. Redjohn3

Agree6 Disagree0

Funny how tv reckon the deal is close, MON has even said about the booing of graham, graham knew he would get it so think your full of it

Agree2 Disagree0

That kid really does look the biz

Ed, anything with any substance to it yet, it's getting to be a last minute thing again. Some of the things I have read is just laughable! {Ed024's Note - Just the same old rumours - Graham being the most likely ....cant help wondering if MON is trying to bring in someone from abroad and that's why we aren't hearing about it.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Andreas Cornelius

Agree3 Disagree0

Can't believe it is this guy but his stats look good on paper!

Mcgeady spotted at airport, can't be going to the surely? It's got to be us.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

I hope we get mcgeady

Agree1 Disagree0

Whos the surely man?

Agree0 Disagree2

Which airport?

Agree1 Disagree1

He's no better than what we already have

Agree0 Disagree2

30 Jan 2013 16:08:07
We have two players on way to discuss terms, Bent back on loan with a view to a permanent deal at end of season and a fee agreed for Samba, Samba more likely to go to QPR though

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Where is this info from?

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop talking nonsense, your making this up.

Agree1 Disagree1

Stoke also favourites to get Bent

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm getting a bit worried now ... all of the rumours that looked genuine seem to have gone quiet or are now looking at other clubs ... I'm hoping there is something happening tomorrow at our place

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Jan 2013 11:59:32
I hope MON has a plan up his sleeve as watching that utter disgrace of a team last night was an embarrassment, Swansea was far the better team and deserved all 3 points. Aye we had injuries but if you asked me two days ago who was in the Swansea team I could name a couple but that's about it. The midfield was too negative and looked scared of the Swansea players. And I don't even want to mention the shot count. It's in the press that Aiden Mcgeady is a target and would be a welcome addition to the team. A lot of Fans say we already have players such as AJ in these position but it did not show last night. Stuart downing would also do a very good job for the team as it was pretty apparent last night the fletcher was not getting the service a player of this calibre deserves. Rant over.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

I concur. Going forward we looked hapless, Sess seems to be the only player with a creative view. Vaughan played terrible, passing sideways at every opportunity. We were second best all over the park. Please MON bring in a striker and a creative midfielder. If the mags get Cabaye and Sissoko gelling together i'm dreading the next derby.

Drewsie

Agree3 Disagree3

1 shot on target in 90 mins AT HOME tells you everything about Mon's tactics. Disgrace.

Agree1 Disagree2

And Jack Colback should be called Jack Passback. The amount of times we had posession only to pass back to Migs, who then booted it up field only for Swansea to win the ball, pointless.

Agree3 Disagree2

Utter appauling last night one of the worst performances I've seen in a while

MON needs to get 3 players minimum
1. Striker - BENT OR HOOPER!
2. Centre Back - Chris Samba
3. Winger/Attacking Midfielder

But as usual sunderland wait till the last minute and I bet nothing is done or just average player that won't really strengthen come in

Were just outside the top ten why not add 2 or 3 quality players and really try to kick on!!

Agree2 Disagree2

I agree- and I see that MON was 'very disappointed' again. Does he not realise that if the team is 'disappointing' he is failing? I think he is clueless. inability to coach them in the basics or organise on the pitch, and no idea when it comes to signing good players that will gell into a team. Pathetic!

Agree1 Disagree4

Drewsie bring on the derby they were only playing villa see what they do in the next 2 games 3 players were to blame last night vaughan, larsson, colback

Agree2 Disagree1

You couldn't name hardly any swansea players? Put it this way they're way better than us lol

Agree2 Disagree1

The point though is that we got a point last night, same as everton did against Swansea. The differences you'll note are that everton fans didn't moan like it was the end of the world and didn't scupper chances of a striker signing by booing him. 5 wins from 9 games and still people aren't happy!!

Agree5 Disagree0

Why do we as followers of SAFC always moan & grumble bout our team! Get behind the team, ok so we only got a point. Do you think we would've got a point under Bruce, I think not!! Keep the faith with MON, he best manager we've had for years

Agree6 Disagree1

Completely agree with the last comment we've won 5 and drawn 1 in last 8 games and challenging for a top 8 finish haway the lads martin is driving us in the right direction he's no fool don't hate on him unless come the end of the season we do poorly. admittedly the performance was poor but swansea are a good side wait and see what happens. in martin we trust

Agree3 Disagree1

Completely agree! Why are we moaning?! We got a point and funny enough people boo'd someone our manager wants! How is o'neill tactically inept as well? Because the fact he has made a success of club he's been to is a fluke isn't it, NO! Read the roker report and maybe some of these people will actually understand that we did quite a bit to stop them playing, however, I did see that Vaughan and colback did have a poor game again, but we've won 4 in 6 and now got another point, why can't people be happy? People here push the panic button way to early, and is MON was to go who would we bring in? And why would any player want to come here if the fans are going to boo him!

Agree5 Disagree0

Yes it was a bad performance, but that is a huge overreaction. We'd just won two games in a row and things are looking up. We're not the finished article yet and admittedly we still lack some attacking flair, but stability is key at the moment and I really don't think getting rid of O'neill is the correct option. Maybe if you could only name a few Swansea players you don't really know football?

Agree2 Disagree0

Not complaining about the score good point but the amount of times these players vaughan, larsson, colback give swansea the ball or played the ball back wards was ridiculous

Agree2 Disagree0

Does anyone know if we actually have a good chance of getting anyone because all I read is that a deal is on, then off, then back on.

Agree1 Disagree0

Id say that was the worst display of the season and it galls me to say why didn't we go for sissoko at least he passes the ball forward !..i think the club should refund the 37,000+ supporters.. as that was fraud to call football.

Agree1 Disagree2

We were playing swansea, they drew at everton, beat arsenal, chelsea away, come on get a grip, they are no pushovers, were you having a go at the team when we beat west ham and wigan and city? NO! sure we should of played better and created more chances but still a point gained against a good swansea team, vaughan is a good squad player but is not the answer in centre mid, colback is not a left back, gards not a right back but they doing a job coz rose is injured and bardo is not good enough, we need a few signings in which O'neil will get, if we played more attacking against swansea they would of passed it through us and we would of lost lastnights game, sick of these doom and gloom fans, negative persons who don't have a clue! a lot of the fans who twist seem to be 18, 19 years old, they were still eating their snots when super kev was banging them in. we not going to win every game, we not man utd, we a work in progress have some faith! HA'WAY THE LADS!!

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jan 2013 19:12:58
i clearly agree we do need some fresh blood injected into the team if we were to finish in top ten in first full season under oneil i'd be happy here's the players I think we should think about

cb - samba or modibo diakite
winger - dowining or jason puncheon of southampton
striker - bent, hooper or bafetimbi gomis

also a bit of creativity in centre mid what about a cheeky bid for mathieu flamini at ac milan, he's got 1year left on contract and only played 8 times this year?

C'mon Martin lets kick on with few good signings and away sunderland supporters lets all get behind the lads get the ground full and starting getting the atmosphere going again at our beloved SOL

Agree1 Disagree1

Couldn't agree more with you mate but most of these don't stand a chance as MoN has waited too long in the window

We're meant to be after Ryan Noble from your youth team.

Any good? Have you even heard of him?

Hearts.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Good finisher and has done well when out on loan in the lower leagues.
Bit raw for th EPL but only a young kid who knows where the goal is.
Scored a lot of goals for the youths.
Look at you tube while on loan at Hartlepool.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ryan is a good player will do well at the right level

Agree2 Disagree1

The lad looks to have a lot of potential but for some reason its not coming out maybe a loan deal to hearts could help him

Agree3 Disagree1

Scores goals at the level he plays at but I think both Bruce and O'Neill thought he was too lightweight to make the step up to first team football in the premier league .

Agree2 Disagree0

Hes a bit like ji he needs to bulk out a bit but he's as sharp as anyone in the penalty area

Agree2 Disagree0

Heard MoN may offer wickham as part deal towards the graham move so he must hav other strikers in line with a move

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for feedback, doesn't look like it's happening though.

Pity.

Cheers,

Hearts.

Is it true ED24! That Ryan Noble has been released and is been offered a contract with the Jam tarts? {Ed024's Note - yes I've heard they are interested in him - but he's not gone yet}
