Just seen Altidore on Youtube, what a player, just an unbelievable tank

Fletch and Altidore up front will be fantastic but with the departing Sess, we need a creative link up player between midfielders and the forwards, any suggestions?

Believable7 Unbelievable1

What did Sess ever create, we've needed one of them all season {Ed024's Note - Sess scored 7, had 3 assists so a goal about every 5 games games and an assist every 12 games - so fair to say not his most creative season.}

Agree5 Disagree1

Giovinco would be very optimistic, taarabt could be on a cheap from a relegated club, Duncan has been on the cards for ages but if we can get two more wingers Johnson could be adapted to play in the cam position.

Agree2 Disagree1

Would love Giovinco
Taarabt is one of the most wasteful players iv ever seen

Agree4 Disagree1

You can not blame sessegnon for fletcher being injured and the other strikers not being good enough to take chances! I bet he was in the top 10 players of chances created last season! What did larsson create and score? Exactly! So let's lay off sess and look at the rest of them. If larsson spent more time playing football than he did being a tool and shouting at referees then he might be decent! I am fed up of safc fans giving grief to sess and colback and never mention larsson! The worst midfielder I have seen in years in a sunderland shirt! Get rid of him paolo please!

I hope we offer Altidore decent wages otherwise well lose him like Mendy and Peruzzi!. we can't expect to get top players with low wages!

Agree2 Disagree1

Mavrias will be the link player in my opinion. I've seen him a couple of times and I reckon he's being lined up as sessegnons replacement. Very good young player.

Agree1 Disagree0

Totally agree Larson has been kept because he takes the odd good free kick but pretty poor rest of the time

Agree3 Disagree1

As Ed has said, Sess created 3 chances last season and, as I wouldn't knock the fact he scored 7, 3 assists is pathetic. I would also agree about Larsson but actually like Colback as a squad player, local lad who gives his all.

Agree1 Disagree1

Dave the mackam, you are officially my hero. Been saying about larsson for a year and if I was a ref i'd punch him. {Ed024's Note - That may be a little excessive}

Agree1 Disagree0

2 above did u even read the post? I like colback and would defo keep him and sess did not only create 3 chances he had 3 assists there's a difference so pipe down and understand the game before you come on here talkin rubbish! End of the day its you who looks like a mug!

Agree1 Disagree0

What has Larsson got to with your post you mouthy person

I Think we should go for Lazio's Senad Lulic, very creative left mid and had a super season.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Ideal player to replace Sess

Altidore all but signed. Having a medical on Monday! Great signing IMO.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

To the person the thinks this is unbelievable check Altidores own website!

Agree2 Disagree2

Just had a look - no reference to signing for Sunderland??

Agree1 Disagree1

Probably just some jealous mag disagreeing with the truth

Agree1 Disagree0

It's been removed, but it said he's having a medical on Monday. Trust me, I don't lie.

Agree0 Disagree0

The post about him joining Sunderland was taken down, tv is even wondering what that means, or perhaps he just jumped the gun.

Is Mendy signing or are Cardiff hijacking the deal as it is being reported? {Ed024's Note - I can see PDC pulling the plug if Mendy even mentions he wants to speak to Cardiff}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I wouldn't even worry about it, if we get him we get him and if we don't we don't. Sure Paolo has plenty of other options.

Agree3 Disagree1

Forget about Mendy, seems like he's messing around, rather have someone who wants to play for the club, without hesitation.

Agree2 Disagree1

He's been pictured in front of the sol so I wouldn't sweat it its just because nothing's been announced yet.

It looks as if we will get Jozy Altidore and PDC will play him and fletch up front
We will need a couple of Quick players around him, Johnson is quick but who else?
Need a left winger, a central Midfeilder and probably another forward with a bit of pace to help get the ball up the field to the strikers because we play counter attack alot

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Agree mate then where good to go craigsafc

I see we've made a second offer for Altidore. also Cardiff are trying to hijack Mendys proposed transfer,, mind can they offer him more wages as that seems to be the sticking point on incoming transfers to Sunderland at the moment? should we compete more on wages to get these players in. or say no to their " ransom "demands? {Ed024's Note - If Mendy wants to go to Cardiff cos they will pay him a bit more then be my guest - we need a bit more commitment than that.}

It's seems like the altidore deal has gone quiet. ed what's the latest news? {Ed024's Note - I'm hearing a second bid is imminent.}

The peruzzi deal isn't dead, it just had a bit of trouble but he is still very likely to join us

Believable3 Unbelievable1

05 Jul 2013 08:12:38
cavanda's agent has said he could still sign for us. What is the source of these rumours that peruzzi isn't signing? Safc93

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Apparently peruzzi wants £45k aweek and we are only prepared to offer £30k aweek

Agree4 Disagree1

Get really sick of the board at sunderland. If you want to go for players from clubs like inter Milan you have to pay the going rate. If you don't want to pay the wages don't go for these types of players.

Agree5 Disagree8

If these player have been identified to take the club from the brink of relegation to mid table or even a European place it worth paying the going rate. Look at clubs like Cardiff already getting their target early. I am not saying let's do a QPR but obviously we need a vast improvement on last season.

Agree2 Disagree5

Need to get used to the facts - SAFC is run a business not a club for fans {Ed024's Note - I think all EPL clubs fall into that category ......look whats happened to Portsmouth.}

Agree3 Disagree1

I doubt he's even on 5k a week atm, if the info on the internet is right, his salary is listed as 250,000 euros a year

Agree0 Disagree0

Apart from the fact that Milan is not, so far as I know, in Argentina, I think it very unlikely that Peruzzi earns anything like £2m a year as a relatively junior member of a Primera Division side. Few players aged 21 can command a wage equal to 50% of their transfer fee. Like everyone else on this site, I have no idea why (if?) negotiations have broken down, but there is no doubt that we have significantly overpaid players in the past (still do) and we know that wage rate does not equal performance- indeed for some of the current squad it has seemed to be a cue to commence the easy life rather than an incentive do their best for the club. So we should not get too depressed about missing out on such players. We have enough mercenaries who are being paid for qualities they forgot to bring to the northeast with them.

Agree7 Disagree0

You have to pay inflated rates, you have to expect this.

I am not being funny, but why would some of these players join you for similar money at better clubs?

You were in a relegation battle last season, players want paid for their troubles to come to a club that isn't an attractive prospect. {Ed024's Note - I understand now, thats why you haven't signed anyone yet !!!!}

Agree4 Disagree3

Nice comeback ED LoL

Agree3 Disagree1

What like the 40k we gave bramble a week what did safc get in return for that sfa. something wrong if players only want to come for money in my eyes if they don't want to play for the club then on your way this club should never be held to ransom for money if we do then like someone else said we will go the same way as clubs like Portsmouth and leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at West Brom Anelkas on 50 grand a week. if you want quality you need to spend the wages. mind some players are greedy if Peruzzi is just here for the cash then. look elsewhere PDC!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive been waiting all day for the new promised Newcastle signing. I've been busy, who did they sign?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes the mags are after Kone its a choice for him between Everton or the Toon for him. no choice really is there lol

Agree2 Disagree1

Anelka is a mercenary goes wherever the money is if things start getting tough at wba he will phone a sickie in
