Talked to a close source to the club, says mignolet will be cashed in on, as if we keep him next year he'll be worth penny's because of his contract situation. Insigne rumours are complete bull, (tbh I believe that as well only us saying he's coming) but he does say we can expect a lot of movement in and out the club and sess will be staying and don't be surprised if jack colback and him get long term deals at the club soon

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I cannot believe you, you maybe be correct on a few points, but how do I know if you actually talked to a close source to the club
Everything is just Rumour, nothing will be bang on correct

I don't really see the point in Napoli lying about us going for Insigne, wouldn't really add up

Agree3 Disagree3

Sources say that Mignolet will leave if Liverpool or Arsenal come in for him. If he won't sign a contract cash in on him, why have a player at the club that doesn't want to be here? Hopefully will get up to 10 million on him tops. Which will make a new goal keeper a huge priority
(I personally would like to see Mattia Perin come in, young and up coming Italian keeper who is being dubbed as the new Buffon. He may be out of our price range though)

Likely incomings so far look like: Diakite, El Hadji Ba, Cabral and Roberge all on Bosmans. Diogo Viana could also be a Bosman signing.

Looks like we have agreed a fee for Lucas Orban, who also has offers from Valencia and a un-named french club. He will decide when the Argentinian League is over. Which makes it seem that a move for Danny Rose looks unlikely as Orban will be a much cheaper option.

Good news coming in is that Sessegnon has stated he wants to stay at the club, I personally think this is fantastic news, although he was a bit inconsistent this season he has been our stand out player for a while, especially towards the tail end of the season.

Lastly Scocco is not interested in joining Sunderland and is holding off for champions league football (which I doubt will happen) And a representative of Paulinho has stated "there is nothing true" in us being linked with him (which I think is good as he is unproven at a top level and is way over priced)

Agree2 Disagree1

We will get some top players
If we just sign bosmans, we won't improve at all

What I think the team will look like next season
__________Forster__________
RB____Diakite__O'Shea____LB
__Cattermole___Leitner_____
Johnson___Insigne___Mertens
_________Fletcher_________

Ins: 40m

Outs: 38.3m
Mignolet 10m
Bardsley 2.3m
Gardner 4m
Larsson 4.5m
Sessegnon 9m
McClean 2m
Ji 2.5m
Graham 4m

Believable3 Unbelievable7

We ain't going to get young up and coming talent from what are bigger clubs at this time so need to stop getting excited about it. No reason for dortmund and napoli to sell there best youngsters to us so it simply won't happen.

Agree4 Disagree0

Dortmund will sell Leitner for around 7m
Napoli has said Insigne can go for over 10m
Mertens wants premier league

Agree1 Disagree3

1 striker? Have u not learnt your lesson from last season? Would get rid of cattermole from the starting 11 and either keep ndiaye or stick another striker up there. Hooper, wickham, scocco, guidetti or finnbogason. Where did you find the Forster from. Was it another rumour or just your hopes.

Agree0 Disagree0

What's the chances ed {Ed024's Note - I think we have a chance of Hooper, just cant see Napoli letting Insigne go, loan maybe ?}

Agree2 Disagree0

The RB we are looking at is from Italy and the LB from Argentina catts will be off though I think

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers what about mertens

insigne looks a class act but hows about a punt on vladimir weiss, he's just as good and wouldn't cost nearly as much. others worth a punt-big money for guisseppi rossi or big wages for arshavin

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Would have all of them

Agree1 Disagree0

We had Vladimir Weiss at rangers and to b honest was like sess not consistent and very hot and cold, stocker from Basel wld b good

Go on Ed, nobodies put anything interesting on here for last couple of hours so give us what you think our starting line up will be for the first game of the new season, all in the name of fun and debate. {Ed024's Note - Westwood, Orban, Colback, Oshea, Diakite, Cabral, Johnson, N'diaye, Sessegnon, Hooper, Fletcher - The full backs are a bit of a stab in the darl ! Subs from - Foster, Roberge, Gardener, Larsson, Vaughan, Cattermole, Graham} I think Maclean might be off to Celtic as part of a potential Hooper deal}

Believable2 Unbelievable4

That's disappointing

Agree4 Disagree2

Mignolet or Westwood
D'Ambrosio/Diakite/O'Shea/LB
Johnson/catts/attacking mid/Insigne
Fletcher/Striker

40million to spend
LB=4m
D'Ambrosio=4m
Attacking mid=8m
Insigne=13m
Striker=10m
Bosmans=Diakite, Cabral, Roberge, Ba

Outs 18.5m - 28.5m
Mignolet maybe=10m
Bardsley=2.5m
Gardner=4.5m
Larsson=5m
McClean=2m
Ji=2.5m
Graham=4m

Agree1 Disagree1

I think you've gone a bit safe Ed - would expect as least one big ish name - although I rate Hooper very highly.

Agree0 Disagree2

If Di Canio is prepared to let Sess and Migs go, he must have some pretty special Replacements lined up

just seen the list of players released today and I was thinking would anyone take malouda. I think he would be a decent addition to our squad

Believable2 Unbelievable0

80k a week wages so no chance

Agree0 Disagree1

He isn't getting any wages atm and if he wants to stay in the premier league he may drop his demands. safc93

Agree2 Disagree0

I was just thinkin the same thing m8 there are a few decent players with experience that could do a good job for us the likes of malouda, arsharvin, gallas, bentley,
toure, ferreira, denilson, benayoun,
diarra, scwarzer, and franco di santo all on a free any1 else think we should get a couple?

Agree1 Disagree3

I would take malouda and schwarzer. Safc93

Agree0 Disagree2

I think malouda would be a prima donna. could b wrong just my opinion

Agree3 Disagree0

Toure gone t scousers ashaven lazy would have gallas that's it

Agree2 Disagree0

NOT Di Santo

Agree2 Disagree0

Di Santo, and Denilson, would be worth looking at. The rest are a collection of big ego's and under achievers. Maybe Schwarzer!

Agree0 Disagree1

No Schwarzer is too old

sunderland fans

don't bite lads the skunks are only coming on here to have a few digs and wind ups because nothing is happening at the circus. at the moment all the rumours are linked to us weather they come off or not it is good being mentioned alongside some of the players named in the media we are going to make quiet a few signings so things are looking interesting. as for coco the clown pardew big mike has told him don't expect a lot of signings to come in over the summer maybe a striker and centre half does he not realise after last season his French foreign legion is not going to work. think they are definitely worth a fiver to go down lads

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Mag here, no wind-up. Just to remind you that Steve Bruce used to say that you found it extra hard to sign quality because Sunderland's not the most attractive of places. That's the understatement of the year, IMHO. Means you have to pay over the odds, and will be most players' club of last resort. {Ed024's Note - Most EPL players live well out of city centres so how attractive a city is like means nothing - ever been to Manchester ? Distance from London can be a factor - look what Remy did last season - chased the money yes, but preferred London to the north east as well}

Agree0 Disagree1

Sunderland not attractive?, what like the toon is, that's a good `un, dear me, ha ha.

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually agree with the barcode on this one, most players don't live in the cities at all, most destinations are the outskirts like wynyard and country retreats in durham, I don't think we realise how good we have it up here in durham and northumberland, and neither do potential targets.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

You've got to be a mag. The 3 aren't worth £3 never mind £30m. Safc93
