obviously players will be signed before the season starts but I for one hope that some of the youth lads are given a chance to play. the club has spent a lot of money and time on the youth set up and I think its about time we started to see the benefit of it. it has worked at southampton so I can't see why it won't work for us let's look forward to the youth as that is the future for us but make sure when we give out contracts they are lengthy ones.

Time to panic now. As other clubs sign players we hare still yet to make any decent progress in key areas. Why is it just SAFC who seem to have this played out in front of the media? Forget the usual speculation, I am talking about which players have other clubs let it be known that they want to sign, for it to end in failure/humiliation?

Thing is one gary rowell you need balence- is all well and good saying rely on the kids for the future and give them a chance but I feel if we had good players in the youth set and the way we were last season- at least one may have been drafted in?!
