I know this might sound stupid with the situation we're in with lack of defenders but I am not bull**it*ng.
At the age of 12. I was scouted by Chelsea and Sunderland. I chose Sunderland. I played CB. I had pace, strength, heading and good tackling and mind. A 5, 11 defender at 15. I see myself as a very good Cb for my age but I was dropped from the academy at safc. I personally think Gus should be looking for a defender with similar abilities to myself! I'm upset I was dropped after 4 years with the club but I know what we need. We need a solid defender like myself! Someone who could play on the flank a little which I could not

at 15 I had a trial with SFC (in the 50's so I am ancient and a supporter for 60 years) I hate the loan system where we develop players for other teams and spend half the transfer window time trying to get them back. My point is where are the players coming up from the academy. Why no home grown players. surely there are young players to fill in the gaps rather than is annual idiocy of changing the whole team. Platers who want to play for SFC
3.) We need a player who can pass the ball from the back, in the past and present we have had some bad players who can only defend and not resolve the situation going forward, look at chile both centre backs under 6ft and both could pass a ball, medel yes but they did pay 10mil for him
4.) We will never have real talent coming through the academies, too many kids who can play and can handle a ball are over looked for bigger/ stronger kids I have spent the last 2 years in and around both Sunderland and Newcastle academies anf they are a joke
5.) When I was young I had no sense I bought a flute for 50 pence

GNSAFC, Ellis may not spend an awful lot of money compared to others but he ain't stupid, If Congerton and Gus fell out, whos he going to rid off. The guy who is failing to secure enough signings, or the one who performed a miracle last season, got us to the final, and is trying to give us hope for signings.

Well somethings not right!. even the barcodes up the road who have the tightest chairman in the Premiership don't seem to have the transfer problems we have! eiethr we aren't offering the money or wages or the players don't want to come here! I think theway some of the deal have been done are a shambles questions need to be asked at the highest level and why hasn't Short come out to reassure supporters what our policy is how much money is avaible etc. but we've heard nothing!

Mind I bet there's been some heated discussions between the two why we aren't signing players and that responsibilty lies at the door of Congerton!
4.) I think it will be Mr Poyet. If you are a responsible person you don't come out and say you are desperate for players. All Mr Poyet has done is tell the football world they can charge what they like for a player we are interested in. If you tell your local shop you are desperate for an item I think you will find yourself paying over the odds!!

As I said it is only a rumour that I have heard from corporate at the club.
To play devils advocate though, if Gus has asked for players, Congerton is failing to sign them and there is a dislike anyway, he could spit his dummy out and leave. Remind me again which club his son signed for?

I know its not allowed but I think some negative people on here need to read The Roker Reports recent post about Congerton, its a good read. The barcodes also have their house in order now which is what Ellis is striving to do so they can afford to go an pay for decent people, they seem to have no relegation worries every season for little money, if a target costs too much they don't pay and move on.

So are you saying after been given £70+ million for last season we can't spend some of that on players to strenthen the team that by the skin of our teeth escaped relegation? don't get me wrong I think Poyet is the right manager but i'm wondering what going on behind closed doors!. I hope you are right but at the end of the day results goals and points will tell us all. negative or postive!

Its interesting that Lallana has stated with LFC in America but Borini has travelled back to the UK with a much less of an injury. Could this spark the move again. Surely he is wrapped up now

Gus Poyet is now stating that they have agreed terms with the club and are waiting for personal terms to be agreed, also just seen Fabio is on the plane to Boston? And heard rumours that his agent has claimed that Fabio is stalling to think about the move more with his family.
Im 50/50 on the £14 million, although he is still young, our strikers are looking good so far with Wickham impressing, Fletch scoring and hopefully Fabio coming. And Altidore is talented, only confidence is needed. He played great for the USA

Pretty much everywhere says Rodriguez isn't signing now and that Borini has changed his mind. I'm not even rubbishting. It would he great to bag them two lads. Wish people would stop questioning Borini. He is still only 23 and he scored ten in fourty. And now he looks to have bags of confidence. And Rodriguez. I just really hope he ends up signing

If Remy ain't joining LFC. Why don't we go for him. Had a great season and he is almost half Fabios price. Still have respect for Borini. Hopen1if the two can be on wearside
1.) He failed a medical, why would we want him? Yes he had a good season, he seems to be a ticking time bomb injury wise though, and we already have fletcher for that.

Heard that Ki is stalling on a move to Aston Villa, is he waiting for us to Bid for him? Because Ki is a quality player. Only £6,000,000! We could get two Borini's for that!! :/

We have now signed Costel Pantillimon on a four-year conctract, likely to be for competition with Mannone, prefer Costel over Rene Adler. Any bid Monaco could potentially offer for Johnson we should accept, because you know they will bid high, we'll get more than £10 mil but like people say who to replace him? He's so inconsistent but he's either top of his game or worse as possible. We need a day in day out Winger, any wingers in mind? Would think Cristian Tello or Deloufeu would be Ideal?

Pantillamon would be a good signing. Also looks like Kieran Westwood is going to city as he is gaining interest. Shame to not give him a new contract. He was injured last season but I still think he was a good keeper. Also in my opinion we should let Johnson go to re allocate wages. And then go for a yuloung winger and perhaps attempt for Alonso and borini. This is just what I prefer to happen. Also we should Sign up Vergini and try for Ki

Borini has not made his decision yet. His agent has reportedly came out and said that he wants to stay but Rodgers says that he is stalling and hanst responded and so has Gus. My prediction is we will here from Borini this weekend or Monday. Also most day the agents quotes are from May when his loan ended.
Borini has refused to come to Sunderland. He wants to earn himself a place in the Liverpool side. I honestly think we should move on as e has said he doesn't want to come twice. So try and go for another striker. He ain't worth 14 mill tbh. Any thoughts on other strikers?
No doubt about it Ki was a good player for us last season. But Catts is really proving himself worthy now, he helped us escape and is loyal to us. Maybe a slight loss for the club but Catts was the better in the end
Colbacks well and truly gone. Perhaps we should go with a player similar but one which has better passing. I'm really hoping Gus sticks a bid in for Ki, he's a cracking player and can go on runs and pass great. Its the type if player we need. If we do get him (fingers crosses) I think Connor and jozu would suit him because they haven't really played a game with each other and with two massive strikers and a player who can pass. Well I don't even need to say anything. Ki will produce long passes and with Connor and jozys pace and strength and height they should produce a goal scoring opportunity. This is what nwe need. A threat going forwards. What do you think about bidding for Ki? And how much?
