Newcastle fan in peace here. fair play to you for getting so many deals in early doors, one word of caution mind you (From a fan that's seen lots off money being spent) spending lots and brining in lots will not automatically bring you sucess you need the right blend off players and when you start bringing in better players all with big egos it can bring problems in the dressing room. i'm still not PDC is the right man for Sunderland, your chairman has backed him so far but if it dosent work quickly and the pressures on him he's the type to walk away and leave you in the lurch. and before you say you only want us to fail I would much rather have you in the premiership than Wigans, Hulls Readings and West Hams of the world. Just be careful what you wish for because it can all go belly up very quickly. Good luck.

Is it a gamble? sure, everything is these days, our squad was very small to begin with & last season we suffered so much with injuries which caused us to have to play players all over the place to cover.

This is a very different approach for us, we're fitter and looking like there's an actual plan in place which is a nice change.

Will we win the league? no, will we qualify for europe? would love it if we did but doubt it, as long as we are safe and the players we bought prove to be good buys I'll be happy.

2.) 18 Jul 2013
Not sure about why you are so concerned about us. If I were you i'd be far more concerned about your own club that is the laughing stock of the premier division

3.) 18 Jul 2013
Most of what you have said is obvious. There is always a risk in signings, and with us having such a large overhaul of personnel, from top to bottom, it is going to raise a few eyebrows. But to be honest, I have to say I am pleased with every signing to date, and that includes backroom staff. All very focussed and very professional people.

Dear Magpie,
Thank you for your heart felt concerns. As a Newcastle fan, and having observed your teams woefull performance post the January transfer window, you are indeed amply qualified to comment.
Rest assured that no-one is getting carried away this side of the river. Most of us do however believe that possibly for the first time in modern history, we have the right structure in place at the club. By that I mean owner/head coach/DOF/chief scout. There, I am sure you would agree, the similarities
between our two clubs end. Your comments on the integrity of P Di C are simply wrong, as time will tell.
We are unlikely to set the premier league on fire immediately, but we believe in due course we may actually win a trophy again and compete regularly at the 'right' end of the table perhaps with the odd European foray.
Not an unrealistic expectation, even for a Mackem is it?

There is no pattern to these signings, it is the same as what QPR did.

{Ed024's Note - No pattern, the strategy is to improve in all positions and replace where players have been moved on. As a Newcastle fan at least you can console yourself that you have a very clear 'pattern' to your signings. I'm still waiting for your promised apology after you guaranteed we would not be getting Altidore and Peruzzi. }

Basically all youve said in your statement my black & white friend applies to all football clubs the world over. All clubs have monetary bugets and we are well within ours. Last season we finished one step from disaster, which would of course been relegation. I really don't see your point? We never scored enough goals last season so we've brought in a striker. We lacked creativity so we've brought in more creative midfield players. We where desperatly light at the back so we've brought in two new centre halfs. We've never had two decent fullbacks on the same pitch for over a decade so where looking to change that. Finally on the whole, last season our squad proved to be waifer thin so we've brought in some promising young talent from across Europe. Not all these signings are going to start come August 17, but all of these signings make up a much better squad of players than the one which finished last season. As a fan that's all you can ask for from your manager at this stage!

There is a very clear pattern to what the Recruitment Team are doing. Get rid of slow, average players and replace them with fast, more talented footballers. And bring in some very good youth with potential for the future. A blind man on a galloping horse can see it man! And if any Skunks are looking in "calm down lads its only a figure of speech".

8.) 18 Jul 2013
The point is Wongaboy, we finished 4th bottom last season, and so our club realises big changes are needed. But you have basically the same team as the one that finished 5th bottom. And according to the Mag Rag (Journal) so it must be true, you aren't going to be busy this window. So my Skunk friend, take your concerns to the Cockney's who run your club. In other words "Get Your Bedsheets Out".

''There is a very clear pattern to what the Recruitment Team are doing. Get rid of slow, average players and replace them with fast, more talented footballers. ''

That's what QPR thought they were doing too. Frankenstein teams don't work.

That's a bit of tough luck for you.

{Ed024's Note - What he's really saying is ....I'm so sorry for doubting PDC I didn't think he any chance of getting Altidore or Peruzzi, by going public with these views I have shamed myself and apologise unreservedly.}

10.) 18 Jul 2013
Calm down Ed, remember.
RELAX

{Ed024's Note - I'm sitting on a beach with a beer in my hand couldny be more relaxed. Banter should be witty, intelligent but unfortunately there are pockets of blind ignorance on both sides ....I just happen to have identified a large one.}

11.) 18 Jul 2013
They havnt even got the same team, it has been depleted even further. Their only decent striker wants away. Kebab and Amemobie are on their way and the people think they only need two strikers.
Give me strength.

12.) 18 Jul 2013
Typical Skunk. can't think of a decent argument, so he tries to use QPR as an example to what we are doing. When in reality it is the Skunks who nearly did a QPR, because you both panic bought in January. We are doing our business when your supposed to, in the proper window.

13.) 18 Jul 2013
Remind me how many players newcastle signed in there blitzkrieg of France in January?
QPR signed ageing has-been pre-madonna's who signed for massive wages as a last hurrah. Please point out Sunderland's?

14.) 18 Jul 2013
Well considering the Skunks had the most expensive football team ever to be relegated. i. e. Owen 17 mil, Viduka 8 mil, Duff 8 mil, Martens 8 mil, Taylor 5 mil, Collocini 10 mil, Butt 6 mil, to name but a few, you have some neck calling QPR. That's the biggest embarrassment in the Skunks history, being relegated with a team that cost so much. Worse than Wonga or Sports Direct Arena. And all because "Big Al" couldn't do what Paol03 did.

15.) 18 Jul 2013
To the post above well said mate respect.
