20 out and 9 in. Obviously a main priority was to unload wages and marginal players. Satisfied -no, but it does appear that the quality is better than last years farce. Time will tell but except for injuries the end product will be better than 2013. Still unhappy with late signings and loans as it takes time for players to adjust. But I predict about 18th finish. Try Altidore for a month upfront. He has a presence and can feed others. He has scored goals and just needs confidence. Lacking in depth but it just might work.

ITS A HUGE MESS. we have been linked to everyone who has kicked a ball. For the past 5+ seasons it has been the same. Spend all the transfer time trying to sign loans we had the previous season, and then more panic loan signings. We have developed the likes of welback, rose, Ki,borini (and many others) who have abandoned us after the loan period. We don't have a Sunderland team,but a collection of players filling time in. We have no youth system to develop talent. with crowds of 40K plus we can afford to be competitive and build a team with signed long term talent. not loans. But it needs a plan from the top. we will again be lucky to avoid relegation, and although I will be screaming for the team every week, we really don't deserve to be in the Premier League with this annual screw up.

at 15 I had a trial with SFC (in the 50's so I am ancient and a supporter for 60 years) I hate the loan system where we develop players for other teams and spend half the transfer window time trying to get them back. My point is where are the players coming up from the academy. Why no home grown players. surely there are young players to fill in the gaps rather than is annual idiocy of changing the whole team. Platers who want to play for SFC
Fletcher, altidore, whickham. Are Last years misfits the best we can do. we need a decent striker and forget all these loan players. we are just grooming them for other clubs and if we want to sign them after a decen. t season we pay thru the nose

I watch SFC in Canada & it is torture. Last season we should have been relegated, and we have lost some of the best of a pathetic lot with no replacements. We need some quality contract signings, some young blood and less time wasted on loan players
