Sunderland could face a dog-fight with Derby County to land highly rated striker Michael Owen. Manager Steve Bruce commented on the matter:

"I think that Michael Owen would be a great addition to the squad, we have a number of injuries at the moment, especially to our strikers and I think that Michael would be a great addition to this list."

Titus Bramble is expected to leave after a bust up with Steve Bruce over Bramble's ambitions of playing as a striker next season. Bruce denied his request on the grounds that "he's fit most of the time."

Steve Bruce has blamed Sunderland's flop in the second half of the season on altitude sickness, claiming that his players aren't used to being so high up, and were heavily affected by their lofty 6th place heights.

He has been scouting players on Youtube and this time claims that he is "certain" that he is signing the correct player. Sunderland fans are likely to be sceptical about this scouting method after the Milton Nunez incident.

Steve Bruce has stated that he will only sign injured strikers and s**t midfielders in the summer, as he looks to continue Sunderland's amazing recent form, picking up 3 points out of a possible 3.

Ian Rush, Ali Dia and Claus Lundekvam have all been sighted at their training ground. As well as Milton Nunez who could be on the verge of a shock return to the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland's board of directors have also agreed to sell the naming rights of the stadium, nPower appear to be leading the bid as the board feel that it fits in well with the clubs ambition over the next few seasons.

Asamoah Gyan is also set to make a departure after stating that he was told Sunderland was a suburb of London, and is not happy about it.
