Not a rumour, just putting a name forward for opinion.
The latest player off the Crewe production line - Max Clayton.
Only 18, played nearly 70 games already, capped by England at various age levels.
Not prolific in terms of goals yet, but what I've seen of him, there's a young Kevin Phillips type player there. Small, nippy and always on the move in the box.
Also, he fits the bill in terms of the club looking to buy young players with potential.
Crewe may have to let him go this summer and other 'big' clubs are reportedly looking. Worth a punt?
