Looks like the end to the transfer window will be no different to the rest of it for us. Anderwield to Southampton according ssn and Van Dijk won't move from celtic as don't want to sell also according to ssn. But might be Celtic trying to get more money or fletcher in a deal plus cash.

Apparently borini arrived at stadium today? Local taxi driver confirmed drop off? Has anybody else seen or heard anything???
A taxi driver wouldn't pick him up. Surely it would be a club car and member of staff.

Think he would have been picked up by sunderland staff rather than local taxi driver
How many would have expected giacherini to walk from loftus rd to tube station

Ricky Alvarez says farewell to Inter and flies to England. After the medical examination with Sunderland which he did last night (between 22-03), The Argentinian has signed the contract earlier this morning with the British club. The player joins the Black Cats on a loan with an obligation to purchase for 11 million euros if they survive relegation. Di Marzio reported this on his official website during the wait for the official announcement.

Think its a 3 year contract though Sunderland havnt announced it officially . .yet!

Its good if we can sign the players we are linked with but we desperately need a striker . hopefully Gus is getting one!
31 Aug 2014 15:55:49
ssn betting has sunderland favs to sign Richards 6/4 and Sinclair 11/10
How I hope this is true

I can't understand why buckley didn't start why giaccherini only gets 15 mins why wickham on the left why gomez didn't feature and why fletcher is still at the club
31 Aug 2014 14:48:01
I think Giaccherini is being eased back from injury . mind i'd start him and give him a good hour!
Wick was on the left out of our forwards he's the only one who can actually play there with any ability, giac was injured & they didn't want to risk him, fletch is our best forward which isn't saying much at all, no clue about gomez.

I see the Celtic manager would like Fletcher but says he can't afford him. Maybe, but he could certainly swap him for Van Dijk. I hope one of those phone calls you plan to spend the day making Gus is to Ronny Deila!
31 Aug 2014 13:53:15
Cant understand why with us having so many wingers why Gus plays strikers ie Borini Fletcher Wickham on the wings? . as they are not going to score out there are they!
31 Aug 2014 13:58:13
Yes i'd take a swap! only problem is Fletch will be on a lot more money here than if with Celtic!
Swap fletcher for van dijk.

With wealthier clubs its interesting to see players being released in significant numbers. Is this fair play at work?
No one talks about this factor but if this is the new way, going late at transfer time may be the best way to get value as these releases appear near to window end date.
Possibly but some clubs also know you're desperate and will try and exploit that. Like Liverpool wanting a large loan fee for Borini because they know we're desperate?
Personally I would not take Borini on any deal now.

I see them up the road are now favourites for Alderweireld. Where did that come from? Are we just their smokescreen?
It's just one site, we were favourites yesterday, arsenal the day before, nobody the day before that
It's just a merry-go round
What basically was said about Newcastle, has been said about everyone else
Were 2/1 to get Richards now, jumping ahead of Newcastle etc, but is he the type of defender Gus wants?

I thought the idea was that Congerton was establishing a professional player acquisition strategy that would mean potential recruits were secure in the knowledge that they were joining a well run club with a clear strategy for developing the team. He has not been very successful, as we still seem to be a destination of last resort for quality players, while the likes of Southampton, Hull, Palace, and even debt-ridden minnows QPR recruit with ease. Someone needs to take a hard look at the way the club has managed its affairs this summer, because the ground and the supporters are still the only assets we have that are indisputably Premier League quality.

Micah Richards talking with Sunderland about a season long loan from Manchester City.
31 Aug 2014 07:59:01
Good we need a few more like him
I hope these talks are fast. We need signings not conversations
Hope it comes off, he will add a bit pace at the back. Could do with a centre midfielder as well
