Deal possibly between Sunderland and Villa to see Adam Johnson going to Villa Park with N'Zogbia coming to Sunderland.

rob r12

1.) Isnt nzogbia injured?

2.) Well i thought so as well however the story broke from the guardian.

3.) Johnson's been a massive flop from the start think it would be a good move for both party's

4.) Shouldn't let him go before the summer and would nzogbia be any better. i'd keep Johnson!

5.) Heard we've put in a double bid for Buckley and Bridcutt!. mind the Nzogbia link!. is he the same player he was 2 years ago? surely we can do better!

6.) Surely to god we have learnt by now that championship players simply aren't good enough in the premiership year after year we make the same mistakes go for cheap instead of quality they will not keep us up

7.) Bridcutt has said would be hard to turn safc down so think fee is the only think blocking move

8.) You say championship players what we got now?

9.) Well as always with this club we always try to get players on the cheap and the transfers are long darwn out and difficult!. after the Vialla result its obvious we need another striker and why did Gus not recall Wickham? . as his confidence woukld be good in front of goalat the moment!

10.) I see ji is back. Looks better than before, but still not good enough. At least he was played in his correct position today, out wide. But I think we definitely need a top striker, someone like scocco or yilmaz would be good, because giacca looks like he can defo give them the service.

11.) Talking of Scocco we are being linked with a loan move for him! but don't we need a striker with Premiership experience to hit the ground running in our dire situation?

12.) We need someone with pl experience and the rumours of fletcher leaving is bad at the moment in the summer yes, he might not play many games but at least he has the experience rather then someone abroad coming in and taken time to settle in

13.) Name a striker who WE could get with premier league experience though. limited options

I notice that with several bookmakers this evening Stuart Pearce has had his odds slashed from 50/1 to 2/1.
Not sure about this one and I would appreciate other comments.

rob r12

1.) Stuart Pearce and Bally together would do for me.

2.) Pearce - OMG No. just no.

3.) For me it's a choice between poyet, meulensteen or zola but if es wants to appoint a British coach then why should bally be somebody assistant just give him the job he deserves a chance.

4.) Pearce is a top bloke but his management record is on the 'carousel of turdage' level.

I am watching the LEIGHTON BAINES situation at Everton with interest. Now before anyone accuses me of being totally delusional I am not for one moment expecting him to sign for Sunderland any time soon however if he moves to Manchester United then Everton will be looking at the same left-backs as we are. The sooner we get Rose or Cissokho or whoever "over the line " to coin a NUFC paraphrase the better as far as I am concerned.

Goodbye and good riddance to 2013.
From a SAFC perspective 2013 has not just been a ANNUS HORRIBLIS but more of a ANNUS BLOODY CATISTROPHICUS

At the moment the patient is critical but showing flickering signs of improvement.
Anyone who sees SAFC on a regular basis will see the framework of passing out from the back. The problem is at present is Poyet has to manage with the players he inherited. In the short term I would think he will bring in three players just to try and see us safe. I would imagine then in the summer providing safety has been achieved, then there will not be another mass influx as we had last year, but just a gradual improvement in the quality to underpin the way Poyet wants to adopt.

We are linked to Younis Kaboul from Spurs. I really do hope not remembering turning down Sunderland in 2008/09 was not enough but he had to do so by insulting the club, the area and the fans. Stay well away Gus.

rob r12

1.) If he joins us I don't give a fu*k about what he has said, as long as he makes up for it on the pitch

Bardo is a perfect example

The win against Newcastle cannot be put into context for a few weeks. Beat Hull then Man City in the next fortnight then we can say we are on the way back. Don't get me wrong it was a great result today against a side who have good players but a poor attitude. Newcastle's game was won at noon when their coach pulled up at the ground. We played the game from 1. 30 and deserved the win, but let's not kid ourselves. At present we are in a dreadful mess and there is much, much hard work to do. BUT IT IS A START.

rob r12

1.) Agree completely. Poyet obviously wants the lads to play football on the ground. This is a massive cultural shift and will take more than a season to implement. Poyet must be given at least a few seasons regardless of whether we are in the championship next year. Hope it doesn't come to that but 10 wins out of the next 29 games is a big ask. With the heart shown today we can still do it.

Whilst my last post was in jest there is one underlying problem at this club. LOOK NO FURTHER THAN THE BOARD.
We have a knee-jerk chairman and directors who don't have the first idea of running a football club.
They have completely lost focus and rather than making sure the football side takes priority they fly half way around the world to tie up yet another business partner who means absolutely nothing to the average fan. The core business [football] is now a necessary evil to lying in bed next to some African company.
But fear not my fellow Sunderland fan! Hold your head high and shout from the rooftops that whilst we fall headlong into League 1 [and the rate we are going it will be within three years] SAFC can put a hell of a summer concert on.

Diego Poyet is an 18 year old striker/midfielder at Charlton. If young Poyet arrives I can only imagine it is for the development squad.

It wasn't the Italian loony who brought Di Fanti in Spartan. It was Ellis Short who was introduced to Di Fanti and it was Di Fanti himself who recommended the Italian loony to Ellis Short when O-Neill left the club. Di Fanti was ten appointed in May 2013 as DOF and overseeing recruitment. It is a right mess though isn't it? And as usual it is you and me and many thousands of us fans who pick up the pieces.

. and the final score would be Sunderland 0 V 5 Manchester United.
That side will not work in a million years.

I don't buy papers for the same reason. OK I believe you but I think it is a poor excuse by your friend. You support the shirt not just the player inside it. Not a proper fan I am afraid.

. and the story was ran by the newspaper who thought it made great journalism to mock the little boy who was the SAFC mascot at Everton because of him carrying a bakpak with his life saving medical equipment and inding so caused distress to both the boy himself and his family.
It should also be noted that this evening that Mr Fletcher strenuously denies the story.
After what the newspaper published about the little special needs boy I am minded to believe Fletch until evidence proves otherwise
