Between ourselves and Southampton for Dirk Kuyt apparently.

1.) No thanks. We do not need another workhouse who doesn't score goals. We need a goal scorer, either a no. 10 or a poacher.

2.) 09 Dec 2014 00:05:14
And another 34-35 year old ?. we are becoming a gereatric club !

3.) 15 Dec 2014 06:40:12
Mattia Destro has been told by roma to find another club and its said that they're after around 15 million. If we could sell altidore or even loan him out for the rest of the season it would definitely be worth a shot and show some real intent.

4.) 16 Dec 2014 00:33:37
Werda Bremman are after Altidore for £4 million ! i'd put him in a Christmas Cracker and give him away for nothing LOL ! . surely Graham was a better bet than him after that miss against West Ham !. mind hell probably now score against the Mags now !

If anyone is thinking of not attending the Capital One cup tie with Stoke next week then please reconsider and make sure you buy a ticket beforehand and get across to the game. There is a good reason for this and does not take a genius to work out why.

1.) . . . . well don't whinge if you cannot get a ticket to the Final in March.

2.) 23 Sep 2014 22:53:19
Well after that inept display they didn't miss anything once again we were dominated and pushed around at times and the lack of firepower is worrying . I think we are in for a long hard season !

Am I wrong here or are we missing a trick regarding the twisting and whinging over Borini.
We already have a player who can fill the void on the books, who is not tall but is the most technically gifted player at the club. Who am I talking about? I tell you something this player may just save us a fortune.

robbiegee

1.) Giaccherini.

Personally I think we had a good window this summer. The squad is younger, leaner, fitter, more versatile and certainly less top heavy than the BOGOF by Di FANTI and the Italian loony twelve months ago.
I don't think for one second we will trouble the top four or top six this season. Even tenth would represent success this year but with twenty-two players now we could have a half decent season. Let us see what pans out.

robbiegee

1.) If we don't go downhill and we start taking chances
I see a successful season ahead 10th/11th in league and at least quarter finals in one of the cups

Thought Gus had hung up his boots

Chris Eagles? Anyone have thoughts? Personally he is a player who is consistently inconsistent and to be honest I cannot think as to what he could bring to the party.

I seriously hope this is a wind up rumour . Poor quality championship player let alone being able to step up to the premier league! Avoid like the plaque as this will be a step backwards for the club

2.) It's crap man
If we were to go for a championship player, it would be one with real quality and potential
Poyet said we need quality, not quantity

3.) Jordi gomez chris eagles same player- with Eagles possibly having more technical ability but i'd rather focus on youth than these two.

Looking like the new left back is Patrick Van Aanholt from Chelsea.
I would guess this is a Congerton signing and is in response to SAFC quite rightly losing patience with Fiorentina constantly moving the goalposts when it appears a deal for Alonso is agreed.

With respect get your blinkers off and look at the bigger picture. You say the side is significantly weaker without Alonso, Ki and Borini. Alonso was nailed on until Fiorentina kept moving the goalposts regarding the transfer fee. What started at £4 millon then turned into £6. 5. Absoloutly no way is Alonso worth that fee [remember it is OUR money paying for these players]. Looking at Ki do you not agree the great escape happened AFTER he had dropped out of the side? As well as that the £10 million quoted by Swansea for his signature was unrealistic. For Borini there has been a million words written about him and in that respect I cannot add much to what has already been said however six goals in open play from thirty six PL and Capital One Cup games hardly had the blue chip clubs from England and Italy throwing themselves from parachutes into the SOL. So bearing in mind the £30 million in fees plus the combined wage bill would have meant there would have been little [if anything] left in the kitty for additions. So rather than being weaker all in all I feel the squad is STRONGER than the May 31st 2014 squad. One more through the door would have been nice but there are now a couple of places to bring the likes of Gooch and Agnew into the fold.

I beg your pardon. I thought you were talking about who he signed on deadline day. Is Diame better than Rodwell? Huddlestone and Jelavic came in well before the previous two dealine days [albeit both good players who would have strengthened our side. Hernandez [UNKNOWN] and Ramirez [deceptively poor].

. . "the defence looks worse every time they play". . . is this the same defence that have conceded fewer goals than 75% of the Premier League then Brandon?

If you cannot win a game THEN YOU MAKE DAMNED WELL SURE YOU DON'T LOSE IT!!!!!
We were not that good today but Burnley are [despite what everyone assumes] difficult on their own patch and what they lack in quality they make up for in effort. I honestly believe we are not too far away from a half decent side. I just wish people would remember how the Italian Loony caused so much chaos and where we were one year ago this very night. No I don't think we will trouble the Champions League draw event next summer but a non-event season is just maybe what we need right now.

There is a club twelve miles up the road will make you very welcome Brandon.

. . . BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE ARE NEVER HAPPY!!! I also agree we are not going to trouble the Champions League draw next summer but after perennial false dawns someone has to grasp the nettle and turn this club into a successful one. As you say there is a certain style of play Gus is trying to adopt and slowly it is coming into focus. Let me give you an example. I sit in the South Stand [after moving this season from the North] and there was a passage of play in the second half where Spurs were pulling us all over the place, and after a tackle by Vergini won the ball and was looking for the choice of pass to play the ball out of defence the voice of tactical awareness and undoubted vision from behind shouted out "WILL YER WELLY THE HO**R FORWARD MAN!!" in his best Sunderland accent. A real touch of class in his phraseology and constructive in his motivational skills.

Well your name tells me you don't know much about football either. The fact you throw yourself at the feet of a player whose overall Premiership scoring record is one goal in six and has only scored four goals from open play in this league tells me you are a bit off the pace knowledge wise as well. Wickham has had better games that is for sure but never hid and worked hard all afternoon.
