Eto is prepared to take a massive pay cut to stay in the prem, which is what has attracted the interest of Mr Poyet. g

Williams has signed a new 4 year contract with Swansea so bang goes that idea!

Lee T

1.) I am getting a tad worried that we're pinning our colours so firmly to a group of players that it seems we can't land. At some point you have to heed what you are being told.

Williams has signed a new deal but Swansea and Williams' agent always said he wasn't coming.

Borini has said he wants to stay at Liverpool and fight for his place, Rodgers has said he wants him and his agent has said he's not leaving, yet still we pursue him.

Alonso is a little less firm but again, his coach has said he wants to see him in pre-season before sanctioning a move.

Yet still we pursue these guys without too many alternatives.

I got quite excited about the Zouma rumour but once that started to drag on, it was pretty evident he wasn't coming. Looks like his team have made sufficient noise to attract further interest and they've earned him a move to Monaco (assuming he chooses Champions League football in the south of France over Wearside!).

I'm hoping stuff is going on and there are other targets or I fear we're not going to get the people in or it'll be panic stations the last week of August!

2.) In a sense I agree, though it's only one side of the story, we have no idea who else we've approached or any deals on the go.

3.) Yeah
I mean, if Poyet can't even get his own son to join, how are we supposed to get some real quality in

I'm worried to say the least

4.) He didn't want to play for his dad, he wanted to make his own way, which is the way it should be.

Was it just me or did fletcher look really sharp when he came on for the donkey?
I just hope it's not a show for the teams that are scouting him!

Lee T

{Ed001's Note - does sharp mean being stood in an offside position making no attempt to get onside even though there is a good chance the ball will be played through to him as the only striker? He was flagged twice for it but the amount of times he was stood offside not bothering to get back onside was much higher. I was really disappointed in him, I thought he would have been busting a gut to prove a point after Altidore's lazy display.}

1.) Most strikers start their runs from an off side position then arch their run often get caught off side! What I was talking about was when he wasn't getting the balls for that to work he got in a deeper position and was trying all sorts of turns and flicks and was unlucky a few times they didn't come off ;)

2.) Ed I think fletcher is going through the motions and I for one would like to see the club sell him and use the money to invest in a new striker. although he knows where the goal is his link up play and first touch is conference class let's see him sold

3.) Agree that we need a more consistent striker, but I think confrence comment is a bit strong lol. I would just like him to show the club and fans the respect they've shown him! and Finnish is time being the player we know he can be

4.) Fletcher is not just going through the motions.
He is not receiving the service when its required.
just as all strikers he requires the correct service at the right time.
He busted a gut last night against the Mancs even with the injury he is still carrying,
Give the lad a break and get behind the players, SAFC are on the up if we give them the support.

Eto said he would take a pay cut to stay in the prem, that's what has attracted a interest of Mr Poyet so could be very possible.

It's only a guess but I think the money that was still owed to the ob will be paid by S/land will be on top of the agreed fee but if I'm wrong it's a fantastic move!
